Item was better than described. I had to order this to replace the original Suburban brand water heater that was in my travel trailer. This item is better quality than the original. It fit directly into the original open with no issues. I opted out of purchasing the matching door and I had to do some custom work to the original door to make the vent tube fit since it was slightly off center from the original unit. Once everything was installed it worked with no issues. I saved some time installing the controller by splicing the original wires with the new controller to keep it in the same location, otherwise I would have had to figure out how to pull the wire behind the cabinets and walls or have to mount the controller in a different location. ... show more

Install was easy after some modifications from the electric water heater. Purchased both heater and door same time. Received door 3x days earlier than heater. Works like it should after install. Had just bought a new to me RV that hadn’t been winterized correctly. Water heater was busted. I never have had an instant heater before and thought why not. After reading and learning about wait times when using the small 6 gallon heater and the limit of hot water, this just made sense. Installation was straightforward and fit was really great, particularly the door. This was for a Winnebago micro mini 2108DS. With the unit on and the gas on, at first tried to check the hot water and nothing. Quickly found that we had forgotten to turn the unit on at the thermostat. Non issue. We set the water to 113 F and then tested it and in literally seconds the water temp shot up. You’ll have endless hot water if you have endless gas. But since we only have two 20 lb tanks this means we’re limited to 80 (Not a type) 10 minute showers. I’d say a bit of an overkill for an occasional use vehicle lol, but hopefully you’ll get the point. Two of us were able to take back to back showers. I don’t believe this would have been possible with the 6 gallon heater. Very satisfied. ... show more

I panicked purchased a Suburban ST60 water heater, with door and after tax almost $1000. Never worked, warranty department wanted me to pay for diagnostics or do it myself. Gave up and got this. Basically same parts and worked out of the box, came with more install materials and wire and connectors than the Suburban. Don’t be me, don’t lose a grand on, just get the cheap one. ... show more

So I had to order a new hot water tank for my RV. I live in my RV, so it was mandatory that I get a new hot water tank as mine was no longer working. I hired a professional to install it, and I ordered the hot water tank from Amazon, however it was sold through a 3 party company. The first one I got was the wrong size so I sent it back and ordered a different one. when I got the correct size my professional installer put it in for me hooked everything up and it literally worked for about two minutes. I contacted the company after my contractor had gone through it and couldn’t find out exactly what was wrong with it. It just was not producing hot water. Because they were a third-party service through Amazon, I had to wait for them to get back to me. It was a very long process and they kept having to contact “their team”whoever that is, to find out what was wrong with it, and how they wanted to proceed. They determined that it was two different things, a motherboard, and some other small part. They suggested they would send the parts and I could have my contractor install them and repair it. I asked them if they were going to pay my installer for the extra time he would have to work on it?! I was not happy with the reply I got!! The answer was no! why should I have to pay my contractor to install parts in a faulty hot water tank, that was literally 5 minutes old!!! After speaking to my contractor, he said well let’s just give it a try and see what happens. after almost a week and a half. I still did not have the parts I kept having to go back-and-forth and back-and-forth with these people. Finally, my contractor was as fed up with them as I was and told me just tell them you’re gonna send it back and they’re gonna pay for it. I’m going to get you a different kind and install it for you. Free of charge because I feel terrible that you haven’t had hot water for going on two weeks now. Well long story short he did just that and I now have hot water with no hassles. No thanks to that company who was unwilling to help me in anyway. They should have replaced it immediately with no questions asked. But instead, I was told because of the warranty on it they could not pay for the installation of the parts. That was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard as I stated before. It was literally five minutes old. There was no warranty involved. So buyer beware with this company don’t buy with them.!! their customer service is terrible as you can see my installers customer service was fabulous ... show more
