This was very easy to put together. Warning: the directions are picture diagram. Take a little time to study/compare the pieces orientation when putting together. I learned the hard way on a previous, similar pet home. I put this together by myself, an extra set of hands will make it quicker to set up. The pieces were wrapped in paper with care. All pieces are numbered as well as screws/attachments. You will only need a Phillips screwdriver. The trays are lined with molded plastic for easier cleanup and they'll last longer than the sheet metal trays that some pet homes come with.

I got this for my two hedgehogs as the cage they were in was too small and had two levels. This has much more space for them to roam around and it's much safer. Hedgehogs need heat to stay above 72 degrees and I have two ceramic heaters on top and it keeps the temperature perfect, all I'll need to do is change the wattage of the ceramics based on the seasons. It was easy to put together but it requires a power drill, you wouldn't be able to do it with just a screwdriver. It's very sturdy and well made and my hedgehogs love it! The wire floors are only on the ends and the wire is removable which I did for my hedgies as their feet are too small and would fall through, but I can see them being okay to use for a rabbit. I'm not using the divider myself but it goes in and out easily if needed.

It's really not bad especially when you cut out the 2 interior wall pieces so that way they have a really nice long space. This was great for my senior bunny that did not do any jumping or running. I did take out one of the bottom trace that was in the covered area and inserted a deep large cat litter box because there was no room with that tiny tray to act as a real litter box. This is great for just one bunny or maybe just 1 or 2 Guinea pigs but I would definitely put nothing more in that. It was very nice and elegant and I had it in my room until my bunny passed away. This area was only used as a temporary living space while we were not home is the range of the living room otherwise.

This cage specifically advertises deep no leak sides but every time the bunny pees it leaks all over the floor. Even if I keep the litter clean and fresh. I clean the cage several times per day and every time I check on the bunny there is pee leaked all over the floor under the cage. I reached out through Amazon to the manufacturer and they never replied to me. Because of this defective cage my carpet is destroyed even though I put plastic under the cage, if I can not check on the rabbit ever y hour or so to clean up the pee runs off the plastic and all over the carpet. They do not stand by their products clearly because they completed ignored my request for help. They want me to return it pee soaked and that will also leave me with nothing to keep my rabbit in until they refund me and I am able to purchase a new cage.

Love this cage for my bunnies big enough for about two of them but they love to chew on the wood:/ and it’s starting to mold on the wood underneath the trays wouldn’t recommend leaving this cage outside either especially when it rains.

Ordered because of the reviews, most were good. Considering it was $115 I assumed it was solid. Never assume. This is built from the cheapest materials possible. Definitely not worth what was spent. Also there is no wire floor on the open cage side, so your rabbit stands in its own bodily waste. The plastic tray is a little thicker than saran wrap. The wood is cheap and had the density of heavy cardboard. Save your money. Wound up ordering one from a reputable online rabbit supply company and it was 100% worth it and it cost a little less than this one. So don't waste your money and time on this.

Would I put this outside? No. Is it a great indoor pen for small critters? Absolutely! I’ve purchased many chicken and rabbit coops/hutches over the years and they all have been made of the same “fir wood”, which isn’t the sturdiest when put outside in the elements. So this hutch is no different. For our indoor pet quail, I was wanting something roomy enough for him to be able to run around a bit, but not ginormous. This hutch was a good fit and has worked perfectly for us. It’s super easy to clean. I line the pull out tray and enclosure area w/the front door with a puppy pad (1 in each section) and put the wood shavings and Timothy hay on top. Cleaning is an absolute breeze this way. If you’re wanting to use this for indoor bunnies, I would recommend lining the enclosure area with vinyl/laminate squares as the inside of that part is wood.
