This product blocks the sun (UV) very well. We purchased this so our grandkids could be in the pool longer and not get sunburned. It did exactly that. On cooler days the adults complain that the water is too cool under the shade (LOL). The installation isn't easy, but is doable with a little planning. I purchased steel cables for installation instead of using the nylon lines that are included. I installed 12' 4x4 posts on 3 corners and attached the 4th corner to my pergola. I then used two ratcheting straps (first picture) to tighten the shade. It takes two people to tighten the shade with the straps. The shade gets weighed down after a rain (second picture). I rated it 4 stars due to the difficulty of installation. ... show more
