This temporary hair dye is great! I've always gotten my hair professionally dyed at a salon, was always too nervous to make a mess or mistake using box dye from a store. I was looking for colored conditioner and accidentally bought this, which is temporary dye that conditions hair. The dye is already mixed as a gel in the container, ready to use, and it smells like grape candy!!! I applied the color over my salon bleached hair with faded salon color, and the results were amazing! Everyone couldn't believe I'd done it myself at home. I used gloves and mimicked the technique my hair stylist used to blend the colors together. [pictures are from using the pink (flamingo) and teal (turquoise) colors only (blended to get purple shades), not purple (violet) or green (spring) which I also bought but received later.] For these pictures attached, I put the dye on dry hair, and let it sit on for about 2 hours. However, I've since used the dye again in similar conditions, only let it sit on for about 15-20 minutes and the color was just as vibrant. Make sure to use cold water when you rinse and wash your hair, and get phosphate free hair products to help the color last longer! One con, the color does seem to transfer to lighter colored clothes, even when dry, within the first week, BUT I do have long hair that is constantly rubbing my clothes, and may be the contributing factor.

This was my first time taking the plunge and dying my hair. I did this for New Years 2020 so I was feeling bold. I'm pretty sure I did something wrong and more experienced stylists can correct me on what happened but here's the good part of this product: 1. The product was SUPER easy to apply. 2. It smells AMAZING (I had ordered grape so that's what it smelled like, I loved it but I saw some people didn't, it just depends on who you are and how sensitive you are to smell but I prefer it over a strong chemical one. 3. The product is SUPER conditioning and doesn't have any extra steps. You just slap it on your head, leave it for the time they tell you, and wash it off. Super soft, purple hair awaits you. Now for the bad... For me, it would not stop bleeding through. Every time I touched my hair, even weeks later, my palms would be purple. I was obsessed with my hair but if anyone can tell me how to avoid doing that, I would keep using this product. This was the only thing that stopped me from re-dying. So, yeah, if you know how to stop it from bleeding, this is an A+, 5 star product. If not, 4 stars and that's why I gave it 4. PS: The picture is how the color looks two weeks after application.

(This is for Plum and Poppy Red). I've used Manic Panic over the last year. Punky Colours was cheaper, and I had heard good things about it, so I decided to try it out. Plum: I had light, light pink left over from when I had Hot Hot Pink (Manic Panic). I decided to put the Plum over my hair, and it covered evenly and beautifully. Plum is a rich and vibrant color that I fell in love with, plus it stayed in my hair for the two weeks I had it without hardly fading! It also bleached very easily out of my hair. My only problem was bleeding, although it was okay most of the time. Watch out when using shampoo- my shower curtains are now purple. In a comparison to Manic Panic, it does not condition your hair (I've found this to be true with all Punky Colours I've tried). Poppy red: Unsatisfied with the color choices Manic Panic had for red, I decided to purchase Poppy Red. I love it. It's a cherry red that fades (slowly) to pink. The coverage was even, and went over my blotchy hair really well. I've had it for two weeks, and it looks only a tad more pink then it was when I first dyed it. However, the bleeding on this dye was the worst I've ever had with any dye. Tip: use black towels. I also have two tone hair (red and white), and it bled into the white badly (I never had this issue with Manic Panic, even when having blue to white ombres). I can't say anything about the bleach because I still have it in, but I would suggest it if you want long lasting color and you have single-toned hair. Good luck!

A before and after of my hair! - After bleaching my hair and using Adore dye, it left me very unsatisfied with muted colors.. So, I quickly bought this to fix it! And it did! I was so worried that my hair was too dark or something but it showed up beautifully and is so bright in person! My hair is medium length and VERY thick, I used 2 jars of color and there was still a good amount left in both! (I used flamingo and plum) I also left the color on overnight by covering my head in plastic wrap and a plastic bag on top of that.. I think it helped with the vibrancy! My hair felt AMAZING after and is so soft! This was my first semi-perm dye EVER and I would highly recommend. The only thing was the mess (desk stained, bathtub stained, hands stained, etc.) But it's dye and that's completely normal. UPDATE : It's been a few weeks since I've dyed it and I've tried everything to get this color out!! (Besides bleach) and it won't budge! I guess thats how you know it lasts long 😭

I loved it. The color was very fresh, and it lasted by far more than other products I've used in the past. In my hair it looks decently colored for about 3 weeks, and the fourth started to get a bit pinkish. Other products tend to last the same way this one did, about 1 week. 3x more longer and an awesome color! Yes, I'll recommend that. It was like other products. You have to be careful applying it so that your hands, face and ears do not get colored. I mean this is supposed to last, so yes, if you get your hands or other surfaces (your sink, towels, etc) covered with it, it may stay put for a while (it lasted in my sink about 1 - 2 days, and in my hands about 12 hours or a bit more? So be super tidy and careful not to get it all over places other than your hair. That said, this was not so bad also in comparison to other products, which have made parts of face and ears all covered for longer. Yes, the color bleeds a bit afterward. But not too bad and not for too long. I think it stopped bleeding after the 3rd wash. Perhaps if you rinse it extra well, that would dimish it. Oh, and yes, it smells nice. My Plum color smells blueberry-ish or something like that. I like it! A bonus considering that other products smell like ammonia or stuff like that (who know what exactly, but pretty bad). I will most likely use this product again. I would recommend this product to others!

For background: I've been dying my hair for close to 8 years now, and I've used many different brands before, including Punky Color in the past. The color I purchased this time was Plum. So, I've been looking for a dark purple dye for a while now. I've had hair in just about every color, including mid to lighter purple, but really wanted something dark. My hair was previously silver (faded down from blue on bleached hair) with some light brown roots. The color actually turned out great, a solid eggplant purple with neither too much blue nor too much red. I might have liked it a little darker, but that's entirely my doing for putting this on previously bleached hair. If you have platinum blonde or white hair, expect this color to be pretty bright. If you're using it on non-bleached or darker hair, don't expect a bright color: you'll probably end up with more of a tint than anything. Overall, the color was great. My complaints lie in the actual coloring process. Like I've said, I've been dying my hair for years, and I've used many brands to dye my hair dozens of times. When compared to common store-bought brands or higher end brands, regardless of the actual color, Punky is a bit of a pain. I'd be extra cautious about using it if you've never dyed your hair or if you've only used store brands before. Put simply: It's REALLY messy. Of course you can do the standard things to be careful: wear gloves, coat your hairline and ears with petroleum jelly, put down plastic wrap/towels on your work space, etc. Still, the color is going to be a pain, and will stain any surface. For example, be EXTRA careful with your bathtub for the initial wash and subsequent few washes. It will stain!! Really, this is the only brand I've ever seen do this much damage to a bathroom. I suspect the over-concetration of pigment is to blame, even if it makes a good color on your hair. It will also stain every part of your skin. For example, as of my writing, the color is still very apparent on my hands, under my nails, and on my scalp. Plan ahead to be able to wash your hair at least twice before going out with this color. It will even stain your skin by just washing over it. During the initial washout, my hands and face were completely tinted purple, and I had to scrub hard with soap/cosmetic remover to get it to go away. A few smaller points for the product: -It's one of the only dyes I've encountered that's scented. The plum color has a STRONG grape flavor scent. It's a bit refreshing when compared to the harsh smells of some dyes, and it does leave your hair smelling nice, but I imagine this does more harm than good. Be wary if you're sensitive to scented products, or if you have animals/children in the house as you can smell the sweet scent even before it's opened. -The packaging is kind of disappointing when compared to other dyes or store-bought dyes. It came to me in a padded mailer and just a jar. It has a clear plastic shrink wrap on it (like you might find on a bottle), but no seal underneath the cap, meaning the underside of the cap is already covered in dye. The instructions are also printed on the reverse of the label (like a pill bottle) which makes it kind of difficult. I would have much preferred that the dye come packaged in a box like store-bought dyes with written instruction and a pair of gloves. I was lucky enough to already have disposable gloves. I understand they skip packaging to save money, but I would be fine paying a dollar or two more to see packaging that rivals store-bought dyes. -One positive note is that the dye comes premixed, meaning it can be stored safely for later use if you have extra for touch-ups and such. I didn't up having much extra though, even though I only have chin-length hair, so take note if you have long hair that you might need more than one package. -As I stated above, I've actually used this dye before, though it was years ago. It really hasn't changed since, which is a little disappointing. I still remember the strong sweet smell, the stained skin, and the stained bathtub. I put it down to just being inexperienced before or hoped it had improved, but the same is still true now. Overall, it's not a terrible product. It's definitely affordable in comparison to high-end dyes and getting it done in a shop, and the colors are strong and diverse. However, Punky dyes just have so many little problems that could easily be sorted, and the big problem of being so messy. I would stay away from this product unless you're more experienced with dying hair and can afford to get your bathroom a little colorful.

Wow amazing !! It deep conditions !! Smells amazing , it’s so vibrant I trully loved them !! This is in fact my first time using colors on bleached hair and I literally created the master piece I had invisioned for weeks I can’t believe it !! And just remember please that if you get blue it will fade to green and if you use a purple it might fade to a silver purple , I’m saying this because I saw a lot of bad reviews of people complaining , but it’s not the products fault that you might not like your hair fading to green but let’s say it did fade to a green , easy fix here ( add a bright pink or purple ) it will fade a different color .

I had three different colors from Punky Colors. Their pink and green are awesome (especially their green shades!). But this "plum" purple is pink, no purple tone. It also washed out almost entirely just from my kid playing in the rain and in the kiddie pool (tap water filled). And I know the issue is this specific color, because she had her ends split dyed. One side green, one side "plum". The plum was applied first, so it was on there 10 minutes longer than the green. The green is just a vibrant as day 1, the plum pink is almost fully gone except for where she previously had Punky colors Pink under it. Id send it back, but we are 1 day past the return date because I wanted to give it a second chance. I'll keep it and eventually get a blue one to mix this with to actually get a purple shade for her. For reference: age 5, medium brown hair, bleached with 30 volume (the ends only. The bottom maybe 2 inches of hair, and two face framing pieces) you can see in this picture, the green is still very much green, as it should be, but the Plum side, it just looks muddy. (Green is punky colors forest green, bought from Walmart a few years ago).
