  • Love this vac!
Color: 1. Tritan Blue
I own a cleaning company and we always used Miele vacs. They would break and we would be out of luck. Not with Prolux, you just call them and they will send you a warranty card, label and send you another, no questions asked. I love this company. The only issue we have is they sometimes have a high pitched squeal, not sure if it's just because we use them so much or what. Doesn't affect the power though. These vacs are very strong. I will never buy another Miele. ... show more

I purchased this vacuum in October 2022 and wish I had chosen something else. Since I paid $200 I will continue to use (maybe), it's been 1 year and I really don't like it. The suction is pretty good when using without the wand but decreases when the wand is added. The design is horrible! I mainly use this vacuum on my hardwood floors, cobwebs, and my car. I tried it on carpet and rugs, a no go for me. I'll stay with my Shark for carpet cleaning. If I could give less than 1 star for maneuverability, I would. It is a fight each time I have to use this vacuum and I dread it. Cons: the hose is to short for the placement on top of the machine. You are constantly fighting with the vacuum to move along and get your work done. The unit does not move easily; with the hose being short you are constantly fighting to move around (keep in mind I'm using on hardwood, not carpet, it shouldn't be a fight). With the hose being too short using for cobwebs on the ceiling is a nightmare. I have to carry a table from room-to-room to set the vacuum on top of to clean cobwebs. On my 12 foot ceilings I have to get the ladder out and literally hold the vacuum handle in my left hand (it's heavy) and the vacuum wand in my right hand to clean. Lets talk about the wand! The wand is wobbly at the adjustment sight, I constantly feel like it will break. I feel that if the wand was more secure you would gain suction power by eliminating the draft. ... show more

  • Not worth the money! Updated a month later
Color: 1. Tritan Blue
I contacted customer service via email because the phone number here on Amazon is not real. They said they would be sending my replace pieces since the hard surface head is permanently stuck on the wand. That was on 12/6 here we are a month later and nothing. Worst customer service ever! Cheap vacuums and cheap help. Never ever recommending this brand to anyone! So many things with this vacuum will disappoint! The vacuum heads don't actually attach to the wand just jam on. I haven't been able to remove the hard surface vacuum head for a month now it's so jammed up on the wand. The vacuum power is so weak, I can't even get carpet and rugs fully clean. It's also also very very noisy not just the vacuum bit also the sound of the hard surface head on your floor. It's basically scraping the ground and the bristles never stay out they always pop back in. Don't not waste your money just buy a miele! ... show more

  • Finally a vacuum I like!
Ever since I was a young kid, I’ve had adversarial relationships with vacuum cleaners. At home, when mom assigned me the vacuuming chore, I remember using a Lewyt metal canister vacuum. I hated it because the nameplate made a horrific buzzing sound that I couldn't stand. I'd give it a swift kick and the buzzing would stop for a while- only to need another kick later- plus it never rolled straight. Of course that was the 1960s and vacuum cleaners have improved immensely. This Tritan by Prolux is (so far) everything I could hope for in a vacuum. It replaces a Eureka canister vacuum that we had for years that was OK, I guess. I got tired of fixing the broken hose (connection to the vacuum body) with gaffers tape, and when you pushed the cord retract button, the AC power plug would retract with so much force that it would wedge itself into the vacuum so that I needed a pair of pliers to extract it. On the Prolux Tritan, the cord retractor works smoothly and not too fast. Plus you can pull the cord out from its fully retracted position without dragging the whole vacuum across the room. I also like that the motor starts somewhat gradually. So if you accidentally left it turned on, and you plug in, it doesn't end up scaring the crap out of you. It more gradually comes up to speed. Even at the maximum setting, this vacuum is quiet (vacuuming fatigue isn’t just physical). The suction is very strong and it is adjustable. You can vary the suction with the "diverter valve" on the hose nozzle (like most vacuums of this type) AND with the knob on the vacuum which varies motor speed. It really keeps you from accidentally sucking in lighter rugs, drapes and such. For the most part, the attachments are excellent. The bare floor brush (which has a rocker switch that either lowers or raises the brush) broke so that the brush was extended all of the time. I contacted Prolux about this and they immediately sent me a replacement floor brush attachment at no charge. Excellent customer service! The hose end and extension tubes are slightly larger in diameter than most vacuums. It just means that if you have attachments from other vacuum manufacturers, they won’t fit. I don’t think that matters except for the dust brush which is kind of crappy. It turns out that our old dust brush made of rubber can be shoved onto the hose end and/or extension tubes. The vacuum comes with extra bags and a hook/razor tool that allows you to easily remove hair that gets stuck in the rotary brush attachment. Oh yes, I almost forgot: I love that it has HEPA filtration. Great for asthmatics like me. You get a lot of vacuum for the $. It’s a very good value considering the quality and engineering that was put into it. It seems built to withstand years of normal use, but time will tell. But for now, it’s everything I would want in a vacuum. ... show more
