So far pretty impressed with the vacuum. I started with a shop vac and it constantly tipped over while I was vacuuming stairs and couch cushions. This vacuum had very good suction and stays put. It is also very lightweight and easy to clean stairs.

I had my Electrolux canister vacuum for 20 years before it finally broke apart and died, and I was worried I wouldn't be able to find anything near as good, but I was wrong, the Prolux Tritan not only has the same 3 stage filtration system, but it has MORE suction. First the special bags filter most of the dirt, then a second filter gets the really small stuff before it goes thru the motor, then finally the air passes thru the HEPA filter where the tiniest stuff gets trapped before the air comes out, which is clean clean clean. The Tritan has all the features I need without any stuff I don't. Plenty of attachments for cleaning any surface, rug, hard floor, couch, computer keyboard, you name it and I can clean it. The super long retractable power cord lets me plug in once and clean my whole apartment, and the suction is the best I've seen on any vacuum, so it's great that they have a variable speed dial to help dial it down when needed. Shipping from Amazon was super quick, and the price was right for such an fine vacuum, so the Prolux Tritan gets my highest recommendation. ... show more

I would not purchase this item again. Unfortunately, I let the window of return pass or I would simply return it. It has great suction but all of the dirt does not go in the bag. Bonnie Caouette 6 hours ago (edited) I just received my cleaner yesterday, did a near-whole house cleaning and felt that I had worked harder than with my upright. I feel like the hose could be longer by a couple of feet, minimum; here's why: ONE - in effort to position the wand fully upright, as in perpendicular to the floor surface to clean the floor in tight spaces, it draws the cannister right up to my feet, with no more maneuverability. Then, I have to push it away to take a step backward. TWO- Due to short hose length, I experienced quite a bit of tugging to pull the canister closer, then pushing it away to get a full 'stride' of floor cleaning, if that makes sense. The tool caddy---- being attached to the wand within the 'working zone' resulted in repeatedly knocking the tools off the caddy and then going through the house to locate them. It would make better sense to have the caddy attached to the machine itself. Before writing this, I revisited many resources to ensure I was getting all the necessary information to correctly operate my new machine, including this video as I could not find any images to clearly demonstrate the use of the clip on the side of the machine; not clearly defined in the instructions; and I didn't even know there was one on the bottom as that is not included in the features key. This video helped me make sense out of how to use the two storage clips; obvious now. As for quality of the machine - I was a bit surprise at the lightweight plastic and do have concern over how long it may be until the machine cover cracks from the inevitable bumping into things. The floor tools are also surprisingly lightweight where I expected a bit more weight. The dusting attachment could definitely be wider; it's like using a toothbrush to clean; I'd say the brush part could be a bit softer to provide a more gently glide over the surfaces on which it may be used. The best feature of the dusting brush is it's swivel design as the curve of the hose-end forces the angle of approach; that is mitigated with the swivel feature. The crevice tool.....the loudest part of the overall operation, as I experienced. It could definitely stand to be longer, by at least twice the current length. I would say also that the brush part of the crevice tool might be better as an optional attachment. As for condition on arrival - there was one loose and broken part in the box, appears to be the cover of the spring mechanism for extending the want. Exposed is a sharp-edged white plastic part, holding the spring in place; while I was still able to extend/retract the wand, this will need to be replaced. I spent a long time researching and deciding prior to my purchase. I'd like to say I am impressed; in all fairness, I think I just need time to get a better feel of this plastic machine. ... show more

I used to think that vacuum bags were a waste of money, and searched for bagless replacements as a feature. That was a mistake. I had some undetected mold in our home and health issues of unknown origin. My physician found mycotoxins from mold in my urine and testing was positive in the home. We eliminated that problem and started working on healthy air. I was advised to use only HEPA filtered vacuums and to not allow cleaning staff to bring their own vacuums. I liked the look and features of the Tritan and the price was very reasonable! I discovered that the owner of Prolux, Brian, started out by inventing an air filtration machine to help his son's medical issues, and it had multiple filters. The vacuums do, as well. The vacuum power on this machine is adjustable, and is very effective even on the lowest setting. I like all of the tools in the tool kit and plan to use them all. I purchased a different model, a backpack, for the cleaning staff to use. I've never found a brand to be loyal to in my 71 years, but I seem to have found it now! ... show more

I do not write many reviews and never have written a review within an hour of receiving a product. My wife and I ordered this canister vacuum and are very impressed with it. It is very well built. The tubes are made of stainless steel. The suction is great. The power turbo head works very well. All in all, for the money, this product is great! We especially enjoyed the humorous instructions.
