This is my second Prolux vacuum. I used the Prolux GV for nine years - in fact, it still works but it was time for an upgrade. The GV isn’t in their product line anymore as Prolux continually upgrades. This time I originally purchased a lower end Prolux, and returned it soon after when I realized the QX-90 was a better option for us. We’re constantly tracking in dirt, grass and the outside. Part of our problem is not making our outside area clean enough, but we’re working on that. Meanwhile, I wanted a vacuum that had a better power head for rugs - wow!! I had the power turned down and the power head raised to level 4; it dragged a heavy area rug across the floor (the kind that has a rubber backing). I could see and feel the difference in how much dirt was getting pulled off the floor. I switched to the hard floor tool to see how it would do getting small sand from between the cracks. I like how slim this tool is because it gets into smaller areas and increases the suction power by decreasing the flow of air. I actually watched dirt move from in front of the tool and get sucked in before I even reached the area - that’s how powerful the suction is. Some people complain about the power of this vacuum and I suppose we all have different cleaning needs. But that’s what the multiple adjustments are for. I probably won’t use the highest power on rugs since the head is self propelled and almost levitates off the rug - not a joke - just try it yourself. Being able to get dirt from between cracks in our hardwood is very important. If you have any loose wood, be careful. It pulled a chip off the floor and ripped it away at a weak point. That was on power level 4. It’s heavier than my GV, which I attribute to better parts and sturdy construction. I find myself pulling by the hose - it rolls easily across the floor. I understand I’m supposed to carry it though and I haven’t figured out a way to move it without pulling the hose, but it needs a tow rope of some kind. Our house is on the small size so for now I’ll be carrying it. Most importantly it needs to be cleaned and maintained. My GV power switch - also a foot depressed mechanism - gradually stopped working until I couldn’t turn it on in year 7. We rigged an external switch, which I kept on and just plugged in the machine to vacuum. I use my hand to turn on my new one. I know it’s designed to withstand foot pressure, but why use unnecessary force? I also use my hand to bring in the cord, and a paper towel to wipe away any dirt that may get dragged into the coil mechanism. I registered right away so that will ensure they will respond to any problems with the motor, which has a lifetime warranty. I haven’t used any other attachments yet, but I’m sure this machine will clean our whole house - from ceiling vents to walls and our floors. Now for context: We have an older model Miele. It has never had the power this vacuum does. To be fair, the Miele is probably 15 or 20 years old. Technology has also improved. But by comparison, I couldn’t see myself purchasing an equivalent vacuum for hundreds of dollars more when I love Prolux so much. It’s the best vacuum I’ve used since my GV. I also don’t know that the higher priced vacuum would do nearly as good a job as this QX-90. I just feel like I made a smart decision about this purchase and can’t speak highly enough about it’s performance and the company.

I always buy a $99 vacuum-on sale and that is basically what I get, a $99 vacuum that will last a year or 2 and do an OK job. Now with 2 dogs and a long haired cat, I wanted my next vacuum to have some gusto. I received it today and couldn't wait to get my rugs and carpeted stairs vacuumed. It's built well and all parts seem very sturdy. As already reported, it got a cup or so of dirt out of my already 'clean carpets. And I found a special bonus, the dust brush using the wand is perfect for my 7" baseboards that always collect dust--easy peasy!! The powerhead is strong on the carpets and the mini head did a fine job on the stairs. I now have a real vacuum!!

After using cordless and small canister vacuums is hard to come back to a large and corded vacuum. One of the reasons I decided to try a bagged cannister vacuum again was because of the larger storage and I would never run out of power. If you live in a 1 story house, then maybe you can handle it. But in a 2-story house like mine I think I would never do the second floor because of how heavy this vacuum would be to carry up the stairs. Since it is a big vacuum, I would have loved that I could store the accessories within.

Just received my QX90 today. I vacuumed an area that was relatively clean and WOW so much dust and dog hair was picked up. Love this vacuum!

I did not get a chance to try this vacuum. I was excited to get it but when it came the box had clearly been opened and then poorly taped back up. It even had a tear on the side. I wanted to get a replacement new one but was only given the option of a refund.

I am older, trying to work this vacuum is near impossible. It not only is very heavy, but trying to remove and replace attachments is nearly inconceivable. I am not sure who designed this vacuum, but they obviously did not design it for easy use. The bottom, vacuum head constantly falls off as I’m trying to vacuum around the room. I definitely will be returning this vacuum. It’s certainly not worth the money I paid. I will say this out loud, this vacuum sucks!

I needed a new vacuum for the second floor to replace a Kirby that was older than I am. This vacuum looked like it would do exactly what I needed. It came very well packaged with all attachments and accessories expected and is a nice blue color with black accents. Included in the box was good instruction booklet with text and full color photos that actually show this QX90 model. It seems to be well made and sturdy and it is quieter than a lot of other vacuums. It is a canister style so you do drag it around as you go but thankfully it's not too heavy. It also has a nice long cord that means you only need to plug it in once in most rooms instead of moving from outlet to outlet. The retractable cord operates rather quickly and it pulls the cord in all the way up to the plugin. The vacuum has a strong self propelled main vacuum head and all of the other attachments that we have used so far have done their individual jobs quite well. It has good suction power that picks up a lot of dirt etc. The vacuum bags are easy to change out but you do need to order their proprietary bags as far as I can tell. I am also a big fan of the fact that thy are HEPA bags. This vacuum is good quality, with a good design, and is a good value for the money when compared to big name brands. So far it seems like this is a good all around home vacuum cleaner that is simple to use but has enough options to take care of most jobs....
