This is my second Prolux vacuum. I used the Prolux GV for nine years - in fact, it still works but it was time for an upgrade. The GV isn’t in their product line anymore as Prolux continually upgrades. This time I originally purchased a lower end Prolux, and returned it soon after when I realized the QX-90 was a better option for us. We’re constantly tracking in dirt, grass and the outside. Part of our problem is not making our outside area clean enough, but we’re working on that. Meanwhile, I wanted a vacuum that had a better power head for rugs - wow!! I had the power turned down and the power head raised to level 4; it dragged a heavy area rug across the floor (the kind that has a rubber backing). I could see and feel the difference in how much dirt was getting pulled off the floor. I switched to the hard floor tool to see how it would do getting small sand from between the cracks. I like how slim this tool is because it gets into smaller areas and increases the suction power by decreasing the flow of air. I actually watched dirt move from in front of the tool and get sucked in before I even reached the area - that’s how powerful the suction is. Some people complain about the power of this vacuum and I suppose we all have different cleaning needs. But that’s what the multiple adjustments are for. I probably won’t use the highest power on rugs since the head is self propelled and almost levitates off the rug - not a joke - just try it yourself. Being able to get dirt from between cracks in our hardwood is very important. If you have any loose wood, be careful. It pulled a chip off the floor and ripped it away at a weak point. That was on power level 4. It’s heavier than my GV, which I attribute to better parts and sturdy construction. I find myself pulling by the hose - it rolls easily across the floor. I understand I’m supposed to carry it though and I haven’t figured out a way to move it without pulling the hose, but it needs a tow rope of some kind. Our house is on the small size so for now I’ll be carrying it. Most importantly it needs to be cleaned and maintained. My GV power switch - also a foot depressed mechanism - gradually stopped working until I couldn’t turn it on in year 7. We rigged an external switch, which I kept on and just plugged in the machine to vacuum. I use my hand to turn on my new one. I know it’s designed to withstand foot pressure, but why use unnecessary force? I also use my hand to bring in the cord, and a paper towel to wipe away any dirt that may get dragged into the coil mechanism. I registered right away so that will ensure they will respond to any problems with the motor, which has a lifetime warranty. I haven’t used any other attachments yet, but I’m sure this machine will clean our whole house - from ceiling vents to walls and our floors. Now for context: We have an older model Miele. It has never had the power this vacuum does. To be fair, the Miele is probably 15 or 20 years old. Technology has also improved. But by comparison, I couldn’t see myself purchasing an equivalent vacuum for hundreds of dollars more when I love Prolux so much. It’s the best vacuum I’ve used since my GV. I also don’t know that the higher priced vacuum would do nearly as good a job as this QX-90. I just feel like I made a smart decision about this purchase and can’t speak highly enough about it’s performance and the company.

The media could not be loaded. I am very disappointed with this vacuum. I purchased the Prolux QX90 expecting professional-level performance, especially for the price, but it has been a frustrating experience. Within just two weeks of use, the hose started making an extremely loud, high-pitched whistling noise, which made it very unpleasant to use. On top of that, the unit is quite heavy and difficult to maneuver, which is not ideal for regular cleaning. Another issue is the power cord length, which is shorter than expected and limits mobility, especially in larger rooms. Now, after less than three months of normal use, the carpet powerhead has completely stopped working. This is unacceptable for a vacuum in this price range that is advertised as professional. Overall, I cannot recommend this product. It does not deliver the performance or durability it promises.

20 year old kenmore finally got to the point it was not worth cost of repair. Research many vacuum cleaners was really looking for a canster bag as I feel, they do the best and provide versatily for cleaning cars, bare floor and different carpet types. Kenmore changed the wand fitting to plastic adapters for attachments and I ruled that out. Other brands had short cords no handle to hold on to I feel holding the hose will cause stress cracks. I wanted good filtration and plenty of attachments for all my needs. This left me really one option with out spending big bucks the Prolux QX90. Received it today unboxed assembly was easy vacuumed the entire house. Over all I really like it no issues changing the height for different carpets, the unit has good draw, better bar works well. I like have the option of changing the wand length and the motor speed, plenty of light on the head changing attachments is easy. I like it has 4 wheels seems to roll good and easy to control. Only draw back I see are the bags can’t just run to Walmart and pick them up have to order. I ordered extra when I purchased this vacuum and they are on back order but should be available in 10 days glad it came with 2 bags to hold me out. Just going to order ahead of time before I install the last one. Never herd of Prolux until I started looking for a new unit. For the money I think this one is about as good as you can get only time will tell if it as worth it. Update 2nd day I used it the handle broke like several had reported in the reviews. I was disappointed and was about to return it to Amazon. I sent an Email for service which the replied with in a few days they would send a replacement. I replied unless the original handle was had been improved I was not interested. They replicated back saying yes they listened to their customers and made improvements on the design. I really like the Vacuum it does a great job so I held on to it and a replacement is on the way. I will give it a try hopefully the new design will hold up better. Unlike many companies these folks seem to have great customer support and stand behind their products. Update 3. Received the replacement hose and the handle seems to be much better a lot stronger. Took about a week to get the part. Hopefully this vacuum will stand the test of time.

I am older, trying to work this vacuum is near impossible. It not only is very heavy, but trying to remove and replace attachments is nearly inconceivable. I am not sure who designed this vacuum, but they obviously did not design it for easy use. The bottom, vacuum head constantly falls off as I’m trying to vacuum around the room. I definitely will be returning this vacuum. It’s certainly not worth the money I paid. I will say this out loud, this vacuum sucks!

Cleaning power is adequate. Cheap wand. Power head is not height adjustable as seen on video. Hard to exchange out power head for other tools or maybe it’s a learning curve. Plenty of attachments for cleaning.
