The step through design allows you to enter easily, seating you in a reclining position that takes weight off sensitive areas and distributes it over the air flex seat for a more comfortable ride. The air flex seat has a specially designed suspension system that allows the seat back to move with you for comfort you can really feel. For a low-impact, non-weight bearing cardio workout, try the RBK 835 Recumbent Bike. The 835, used in fitness centers worldwide, allows you to step through easily, seating you in a reclining position that takes weight off sensitive areas and distributes it over the Precor designed Air flex seat for a comfortable ride. The RBK 835 recumbent bike is one of Precor's commercial recumbent bikes with 12 programs, 25 resistance levels, and touch and telemetry heart rate monitoring with Smart Rate. The 835 also features the Precor designed air flex seat, dual-sided pedals, and K.O.P..S biomechanics. The extra-large running surface is great for dedicated runners, athletes, and walkers. Step-Through Design The Precor recumbent bike features a step-through design (14 inches wide) with a very low step-over height (4 inches) Air Flex Seat The air flex seat with high-ventilation seat back features a specially designed suspension system that allows the seat back to move with you for comfort you can really feel. Console Handlebars The console handlebars help with entry and exit, while the riding handle bars provide optional hand and arm positioning and heart rate monitoring. Biomechanics Designed for K.O.P.S. Biomechanics (Knee Over Pedal Spindle), the Air Flex seat is set at an optimal position to aid in efficient pedaling and reduced shear force on the knee. This places the forward knee directly over the ball of the foot (or pedal spindle) when the pedals are in a horizontal position. Pedals Dual-sided pedals can be used without the pedal straps. The extra wide pedal comfortably accommodates feet of all sizes. 3-Piece Crank 3-piece crank tightens positively, reducing the need for periodic adjustments. The 170 mm crank arm accepts any standard road or mountain bike pedal. Seat Adjustment Seat has 11 levels of adjustments and can be adjusted while you are on or off the bike. Two-Stage Drive System The two-stage drive system yields a smooth, comfortable, quiet operation with a lower start-up resistance and more consistent resistance progression than single-stage drive systems. 3-Phase Generator and Belt Drive 3-phase generator and eddy current resistance system requires no backup battery in order to efficiently power the bike while the belt drive ensures smooth, quiet operation and reduced maintenance. • Quality Recumbent Bike, Glad I Purchased
My gym has this same bike and I always liked it. I find the comfort and ergonomics of this bike to be just right...the vented seat back and the area where my elbows rest is nice and gives me leverage. A few months ago when COVID started ramping up and my gym closed, I bought a Schwinn recumbent bike online from Dick's. It was not bad, but the pedals were slightly too wide for my body, and I didn't like the shape/design/ergonomics of edges of the back of the seat. So I returned it and bought this one, which I already knew I liked because it's the same one from my gym. I bought this bike here on Amazon through a seller called Coastal Fit. I called Coastal Fit before purchasing and spoke to a guy named Dan who was nice and answered my questions. Before that, I was about to buy a bike from one of the companies online that seem to specialize in selling remanufactured fitness equipment, (GymPros, Gyms Direct, etc), all of whom I'd called and sounded professional and almost talked me into buying from them. I am glad I checked reviews first (!!!) because all those other companies have terrible reviews. Coastal Fit was like, the only company that had all good reviews. This bike arrived about 2-3 weeks after purchasing, at the beginning of Amazon's estimated arrival time frame, and the tracking updates and communication from the delivery company were perfect. They call to schedule the delivery about 24 hours in advance to let you know a time frame when it will arrive. The bike was delivered on a large semi-truck that was lucky to fit down our one-way city street and be able to get out without any issues. The bike arrived in a sturdy wooden frame with clear plastic sheeting around it. The frame needs to be disassembled before the bike will fit through a standard doorway). We had to use a drill and hammer to remove all the screws and nails which hold the bike in place on the frame. We are actually going to use the wood from the frame for other projects now, so that will not go to waste. After removing the bike from the frame, getting the actual bike into our house was not too bad, but you will need to be feeling ready and strong because it is heavy and requires concentration since it weighs 219 lbs. I am 5 feet tall, 120 lbs. and I was able to carry this with my husband who is very strong and who had to carry the heavier end of the bike. Once we got it into the house, we disassembled the bike into several parts (console, seat, console support), then we carried it up to my attic office space together in about 10 mins. It's an intense workout carrying this up multiple sets of steps, but surprisingly it went smoothly because we were focused, communicated a plan first, and did not want to drop it/hurt ourselves. My husband said anyone could probably figure out how to disassemble and reassemble. You just need a drill and some tools like wrenches. You can look up the manual online if you get stuck. I love this bike and I'm so pleased with my purchase. I only have one comment and it's that one of the screw sockets seems to be a little stripped and so we couldn't get one of the screws in when reassembling. However, it is not a big deal because it's more of a background supporting screw for the seat and the seat is still held in place via 4-5 other thick sturdy screws, so we are not concerned about it. My husband said it's possible he stripped it when reassembling, but he does not believe it was he who stripped it. I would not consider that a reason to discredit this excellent bike or not purchase. Just be gentle with the screws/sockets if you have to disassemble to move the bike (and you will want to disassemble to move since that makes it more manageable to carry/move). Happy biking and thanks to Coastal Fit for the great addition to our home gym! ... show more

The bike is a great way to exercise during the winter when I don't want to bear the cold weather for a run. I had a spinner bike in the past, but wanted to replace it with something that was easier on the back (recumbent bike). This bike is as good as any bike I've used in the gym, which shouldn't be a surprise since this is a professional quality gym bike. The only negative is your inside. I find it hard to maintain focus and drive indoors when my exercise sessions extend over 45-50 minutes. ... show more

  • Don't buy this with its punishing seat & back
Don't buy! As part of my gym's renovation 8 of these bikes replaced the existing ones. As another reviewer noted, these monstrosites have he hardest worst seats ever plus a non-adjustable hard back. Further, the time defaults to a count-down rather than time elapsed! You can change it but you'd better be quick because you have a minute before the time elapsed option disappears. Plus NO built-in fan. What a piece of junk! If I could give it a minus star I would. ... show more

  • Uncomfortable seat!
My apartment complex has one of these in their small gym, and it has the most uncomfortable seat ever. The controls and settings seem ok, but even just a few minutes on this bike and your butt will be sore. It's just hard plastic, without any padding or cushioning at all. I've tried bringing my own cushion to use, but it only helps a little. Pretty pathetic given how much this thing costs! ... show more
