I was intrigued by this portable printer because I've always seen them around online, but wasn't sure if it was worth the purchase. Once it arrived, my first impressions was how compact the printer itself was, and that it actually came with a drawstring bag for safekeeping when you take it on the go. Set up was really straightforward. You just need to download the app that is required for the system, then you pair the printer to your phone via the app so you can get started. This portable printer does include a roll of paper, the texture of it kind of feels like receipt paper that is mostly used at stores for checkout receipts, but much wider. Once everything is all set up, you can start the printing process. This printer only prints in black-and-white since this doesn't use ink of any kind, it's basically using the same method as a story receipt we used to print out the words or image on it. The printing quality varies with the images that you provide to it if it's not a high resolution image, it will probably look pixelated once printed, but if it's somewhat of a higher resolution image, well you'll have no problem. Thankfully, the printing itself is not noisy and it's pretty OK for what it is. Overall, this portable printer is not terrible. I think it has it's uses, especially if you need to print something out right away. But do keep in mind, if the paper isn't stored properly. The words or image could fade away over time.

I can't really complain about the print quality, speed or noise of the printer. It was also pretty easy to use with a PC / laptop. The big downside is that it requires thermal paper, like that used for printing receipts at a shop - thin, curly and with fuzzy top and bottom edges after the tear-off. The printer comes with a roll of thermal paper, but you'll have to order more if you do use it much. It seems you can buy perforated, fanfold paper (a flat stack of pages joined by a perforation where you can tear pages off). I did not buy and try any of that, but it might be a lot better than the permanently curled pages torn from a roll. Still, thermal paper is thin and can fade or even turn all-black if exposed to heat (like in your car in summer). You really need to understand and accept the limitations of thermal paper if you buy this printer.

For what it is its a great thing to have when you're on the go. I attend camps with my students and they're always forgetting forms and things and printing things at camp sites can be a whole ordeal. This is an amazing thing to have on hand for quick prints, forms, labels, activities, etc. On my iPhone 13 ProMax the app connects to the printer very well, tells you how much battery the thing has, and imports documents very easily, and lets you select the document type - very functional. Printing is easy and print speed is pretty quick, print quality is clear - the look is neither perfectly crisp like a typical printer nor too light or pixelated like a receipt. All this said it is NOT the same as a normal printer on normal paper. You have to hand rip the finished print on corrugated steel teeth (like aluminum foil) - so you're not going to get perfect smooth edges on your sheets. And because the paper is rolled internally the printed sheets do curl. This is the price you pay for not having to carry around sheets of paper with you, which in certain contexts is 100% worth it. Because nothing is worse than bringing a printer and forgetting the frikkin paper or dumb special power cable...or not being able to find an outlet. I love that this comes with a travel sleeve to keep all the cables and bits - I might even invest in a little travel hard case. All in all, very helpful product. Just wish it had an internal paper cutter.
