It gets warm inside but only after the steamer has run a few minutes. The plastic does smell slightly when it gets warm inside but not too strong at all. This is my favorite buy so far! I bought this for my nephew who is an athlete and does competitive gymnastics. He has used this after every practice and competition for the last several weeks, and says his recovery is much faster. We are very impressed by this compact portable steam sauna and hope it will keep us healthy during the cold winter months and beyond. Out of the box it was easy to put together and start using. The directions were a little vague, but assembly was fairly intuitive and there weren’t a lot of components to put together. Parts include: (1) A flexible, pop-up “tent” with a zippered “door” and one-person capacity, which does not get hot on the outside, so could be placed near a wall without worrying about excessive heat causing damage. (2) A sturdy electric boiler with a digital readout to adjust temp and time and automatic shut off if the reservoir runs dry. (3) Two heavy duty tubes—a shorter one to connect from the outside of the tent to the boiler and a longer one to connect from the inside of the tent to the steamer. (4) A hose coupling to connect the hoses. (5) A small plastic steam generator to create the heat and steam inside the tent and (6) A remote control for regulating time and temp of the boiler, presumably for use inside the tent. The kit also includes a small folding chair to sit on inside the tent that was adequate to support my 5’11” 200 pound husband. He questioned whether the small chair size would support taller and larger users and they might be tempted to sit on the tent floor, which he would not recommend due to close proximity to the steam generator and potential burn risk. Using the chair is mandatory. RECOMMENDATIONS: The sauna takes about 10 minutes to heat up and reach an adequate steam level inside the tent. We did not take the temp inside but it does get hot, so make sure the steam generator is pushed to the side away from your feet. We also recommend not putting the chair inside when the sauna is heating up. These safety recommendations really should have been included on the directions. We also feel the tube insertion point should not have been put on the front of the tent, but rather on the side of the tent so there was no possibility of tripping or accidentally touching the hose and coupler, which get very hot. Putting the hole on the side would also have allowed the steam generator inside to be more safely positioned to avoid your feet. These were the reasons for the one-star rating reduction. Other than that, we love this little sauna and look forward to using it as often as we can.

Very compact and easy to assemble. This just does the job for a single person sauna. It did fit into my master bathroom and I've been using it for every four days once. The good thing is that it has a remote control which can be operated from inside if you need to adjust temperature or the time. For the first time, I let it be doing its job and cleaned the surfaces of it. It also comes with a small chair. So far, the product is good without any issues and works great.

This sauna is of poor quality, for its price, I expected something better and larger. The instructions are not well specified, so you'll have to figure out how to put it together. There are better saunas than these.

I bought this for my husband, but my whole family loves this sauna. It is easy to use, is durable, and works well. It heats well and quickly. I love the remote control so you can control the settings from inside the sauna. There is also a window that opens with a zipper if you need a little fresh air.

The portable, pop-up design is exactly what I needed for my small space.
