  • For the $$, can’t beat it.

I purchased the square version of the Coleman SaluSpa. The product came in one large box, with the spa itself vacuum-sealed and very compact. The pump and compressor unit took two people (me and my five year old ;-)) to remove it. Once removed, it was easily handled and transported to where I wanted to set it up. It came with a ground cloth, which is basically a low mil bubble wrap. Set everything in place, followed the directions to pump up the unit, filled with water to the marks on the side as shown, turned it on and BAM, instant hot tub. Now, if you fill this thing with water from you spigot outside, it takes about a half day to get up to temp. I’ve only had it in the summer, but it hit the low 60’s at night the last couple of days and it is 104 degrees when I got in it in the morning. A couple of items of advice: 1a - Buy bromine, not chlorine. The vapors from chlorine with make it rough to handle. 1b - When you buy bromine, 1” tablets don’t fit in the chemical dispenser. I had to chop them in half to make them fit. Took me about 10 min to cut up a whole bottle of Clorox brand. Now they fit perfectly. 2 - Get a skimmer net if you don’t have one. Your body hair and other stuff will get in it and you ought to skim it each and every time you get out. The filters catch some of this stuff but not as much as you would think. 3 - Get a pack of 6 or so filters. I took mine out for the first time in 3 weeks and they look really dirty, but I completely rinsed them out to near brand new condition. 4 - Get scrub brush and go over the water line and clean it a little bit every time you use it. Hell, you’re just sitting there anyway, what else do you have to do... :-) 5 - Use it. The worst thing you can do to hot tub, pool, etc, is just let the water sit there. It needs to have you use it and turn the water over and slosh around stagnant parts. To recap: this thing rocks, it is affordable, it is easy to set up, it works like it should and it can be put up if the weather gets too cold where you live to it...or, you just want a break from hot tub maintenance for a while. ... show more

  • Good product, lasted 4 years, buying again.

So, just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in! I bought one of these Coleman Saluspas in 2021, I believe. I have just ordered a second because the first one has an air leak that I can't find to patch. But it lasted us 4 years, so I'd say that's pretty good! Better than reviews on other brands. I just spent and hour looking around at reviews to see if anything looked better, and it doesn't look like it, so going with the same model again. Except now it lists the option for an "energy efficient" version (which is on sale for less than the regular!). To be honest it would be nice if it didn't cost as much to run, but I can't speak too much to that either bc I usually have an above ground pool pump running too. My guess is that it costs about 100-150/month to keep the heater on all the time (in Ohio between May - Oct). Obviously on the higher end in the colder months. You may not need to run it constantly in the daytime of summer, but I would always forget to turn it back on for a couple days and then the kids would want to use it and it wasn't warm enough. This hot tub is NOT for cold weather (I think it states the max low temp on the listing somewhere). Jets are strong... bubble jets, so they don't really MASSAGE you, but they do the best they can. Some of the 71×71 inch spas claim "4-6 person" but you really can't fit more than 4, unless they're kids or you have people sitting on laps (to each their own). I've had this on our deck and the weight wasn't an issue. Rain does pool on top and you have to pump it off if you don't have a roof over it. But overall, I'm trusting this brand again over the others because of how long it lasted. (No issues with the mechanics by the way). I did blow the fuse once and it shorted out the PLUG, which I replaced (look instructions up on YouTube if this happens to you). And whenever I've gotten an error message from the pump, it always corrected when I changed the filter! It is a tad heavy and awkward. Doesn't matter if its inflated or not. I had to have my brother help me get it up on the deck this year bc of my back. I'd suggest a mat underneath for cushion/protection (the puzzle-piece exercise floor mats work well and last a long time). All in all.... happy with this product and I recommend. I feel the price is worth the 4 years we got out of it 😊 ... show more

I purchased this hot tub last year. I understood it was unlikely to last as long as a normal hot tub but I figured if it lasted only two or three years it would be worth it considering the rising costs of a conventional hot tub. I set it up and it worked beautifully for the summer and fall. Then I drained it and carefully put it away for the winter. I brought it out again this spring and attempted to inflate it again but it would not hold air which meant that the walls of the tub would not stay inflated and because of that the tub was useless. I had several calls with best buy the actual maker of the tub, Bestway, (although the tub clearly says it is a Coleman product) and they said that I should bubble test the inflateable walls, which I had done and have repeatedly done again many times, and there are no leaks, but during the process I noticed by sound and by bubbles that the fixture above the inflo and outflo was leaking air and deflating the unit. All I ever heard back from Bestway was that the inflateable walls were out of warentee and could not be replaced because they no longer produced that model. I sent pictures of bubbles escaping from that part but no one was able to even tell me even what that part does. So a hot tub that seems like a great buy has turned out to be worthless after only one season. Bestway has been completely unhelpful and I can only sat Shame on Coleman for putting their till now good name on a product that they now say they have nothing to do with its product life. Amazon also has been no help and everyone sends us back to Bestway who obviously cares about nothing more than absolving themselves of respnsability. So StAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT and Bestbut itself or the loss will be entirely yours. ... show more
