Update 2023 Overall I still like this hot tub. Just shy of the one year warranty expiring, the heating unit started to leak. Bestway replaced it promptly. The replacement had a bent unusable plug but they sent me a third pump pretty quickly too. The hot tub works as advertised but it is costly to run. I’ve had a conventional hot tub that that didn’t use as much electricity. It’s easy to fill and clean. It’s a good hot tub for one or two people and for the price it’s still a good deal. I’ve only had the hot tub for a few weeks so this is a preliminary review. In retrospect setting up the hot tub was relatively easy. As most say, the company instructions are lacking. Go to YouTube and search for Coleman setup. There are several good ones. Mine is inside in a sun room and I bought a mat for it to set on. The hardest part of set up was getting the pump hooked to all three connections at the same time. I found there was just a slight height difference in the pump and the connectors on the hot tub. I cut a piece of cardboard and slipped it under the pump. Definitely helped. Overall I’m really happy with it. I’m sure it will up the electric bill but I’m prepared for that. I only plan to run it a few months. So we’ll see how it goes. So far, so good.

So, just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in! I bought one of these Coleman Saluspas in 2021, I believe. I have just ordered a second because the first one has an air leak that I can't find to patch. But it lasted us 4 years, so I'd say that's pretty good! Better than reviews on other brands. I just spent and hour looking around at reviews to see if anything looked better, and it doesn't look like it, so going with the same model again. Except now it lists the option for an "energy efficient" version (which is on sale for less than the regular!). To be honest it would be nice if it didn't cost as much to run, but I can't speak too much to that either bc I usually have an above ground pool pump running too. My guess is that it costs about 100-150/month to keep the heater on all the time (in Ohio between May - Oct). Obviously on the higher end in the colder months. You may not need to run it constantly in the daytime of summer, but I would always forget to turn it back on for a couple days and then the kids would want to use it and it wasn't warm enough. This hot tub is NOT for cold weather (I think it states the max low temp on the listing somewhere). Jets are strong... bubble jets, so they don't really MASSAGE you, but they do the best they can. Some of the 71×71 inch spas claim "4-6 person" but you really can't fit more than 4, unless they're kids or you have people sitting on laps (to each their own). I've had this on our deck and the weight wasn't an issue. Rain does pool on top and you have to pump it off if you don't have a roof over it. But overall, I'm trusting this brand again over the others because of how long it lasted. (No issues with the mechanics by the way). I did blow the fuse once and it shorted out the PLUG, which I replaced (look instructions up on YouTube if this happens to you). And whenever I've gotten an error message from the pump, it always corrected when I changed the filter! It is a tad heavy and awkward. Doesn't matter if its inflated or not. I had to have my brother help me get it up on the deck this year bc of my back. I'd suggest a mat underneath for cushion/protection (the puzzle-piece exercise floor mats work well and last a long time). All in all.... happy with this product and I recommend. I feel the price is worth the 4 years we got out of it 😊

Researched all the soft-side hot tubs and even though it was a little more money, we decided on this one as it had generally good reviews and the square design exactly fit in our limited space patio. From day one, there was a weird pocket of air in one corner of the floor, and over several weeks, it grew several inches in height and covered about half the floor. Contacted seller, VM Express - very friendly and helpful. They directed me to warranty info at Bestway, the company who processes warranties for Coleman hot tubs. At first, it seemed that the warranty replacement with Bestway was going to be easy and quick - filled out form online, submitted photos and purchase receipt, then they shipped a new tub liner and we received it inside of a week. Of course, we lost an entire day of labor draining one and filling the new, then waited a couple more days for it to come up to temp, but then were flabbergasted when we discovered that it had the EXACT SAME FLAW, only BIGGER than the last one!! (Incidentally, it also was from the same manufacture batch and date.) So, round two for another warranty replacement. Grrr.... This time, Bestway was not as easy to work with. Maybe they thought we were trying to pull something. This time, they required us to not only send photos of the new liner’s flaw, which were even more obvious than the last one because the air pocket in the floor was twice as big, but they also required us to destroy the liner by cutting out the lot number stamp from the tub, rendering it useless even as a watering trough or kids splash pool - instead destined it straight for the landfill (so not cool). As well, it cost us more money to heat the water up, as this time we couldn’t re-purpose the water in the same day and keep from losing all that preheated water. So… We finally have the second warranty replacement, bear in mind this is the THIRD liner. This replacement doesn’t match the previous color and they would not send a lid that matched so now we have a miss matched set and not the color we originally paid for. We’re trying to make it work but are seriously disenchanted. Now for the clincher… We finally have the second warranty replacement, bear in mind this is the THIRD liner. Besides that, best way has ruined our chance for a money back guarantee from the vendor, as their product shipments and warranty process have pushed as well past the 60 day moneyback limit. We have wasted countless hours and unnecessary expense trying to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. Three liners and none of them perfect. But we love being outside in it and so have decided to keep it for as long as it will last and start saving for a REAL hot tub. Hope this helps someone trying to make a decision. Our advice? Save your money until you can afford a real one.

I've had this hot tub about 5 months now. It works well, and I use it frequently for back pain. Initial set up was easy and it fills and drains quickly. For the price, it's a great way to test the waters before purchasing a larger, more permanent hot tub structure. I love mine! TEMP CONTROL: You can control the temp on this unit. As others mention, it will lose heat when you run the bubbles and it will not be able to increase heat with the cover off. I bought an Alavantor bubble tent (ASIN B07YZ2KTTJ; recommend at least 12ft; 10 works but it's a tight fit) to put around it in the winter time and that helped it maintain heat significantly as well as allowed me to use it in the cold (lows in the teens where I live). Just make sure you consider ventilation so you don't gas yourself out if you choose to go that route. I also put up a shade sail and turned the heat function off for a way to stay cool this summer. A little shade and an initial addition of a few bags of ice, and I was easily able to keep the temp around 90/91 when ambient temp was 100+. Running the bubbles even when the heat is off feels amazing. CHEMICALS: Ok so here's the deal. You need to do some serious research about maintenance and chemicals before buying this if you've never owned one before. There's a choice of bromine vs. chlorine. Then you've got ph up, ph down, shock, balancers, foam control, testing strips, etc. It feels a little like becoming a full-time chemist. I did a ton of research ahead of time because I had a bad time with a quick set pool last year and had everything on hand before this even arrived. Now you can manually maintain all the chemicals mentioned above yourself and that's totally fine. Let me tell you though that I got the Spa Frog @Ease system (ASIN B08NK9DSQS) and it has made it so easy for me to keep everything balanced and perfect all the time. It costs a little more, but totally worth it in my opinion. The little scumbug that comes with the quarterly kit is good at reducing the "oil slick" that will eventually come from body oils, sweat, etc. I was even able to leave for a week vacation and came back with everything perfectly in balance still. CLEANING: I was totally unprepared for this aspect in some respects. It's probably not bad if you're putting your hot tub under a covered patio or indoors. Mine is at the back of my yard exposed to the elements. Considering that, it's done really well but I wind up draining it completely, fully cleaning, and refilling about once a month. I think the manual says quarterly will suffice, but I personally can't stand to sit in a small vat of water with tiny little critters (too small for pool nets) floating around me. I'm also probably excessively concerned with not letting anything even try to grow (look up hot tub diseases and what is capable of growing in there). It takes me about 2 hours to clean it inside and out using Clorox/ Lysol wipes (about 1 large can), a washcloth, and several clean buckets of water. So far that seems to do a good job. I strongly recommend taking apart the floating cover and cleaning that thoroughly as well. There are a ton of seams on the inside and it can get gross quickly if you're not on top of it regularly. TOTAL COST TO OWN: This will vary depending on what you choose for chemicals, maintenance, and what your local utilities cost. I can only speak for myself living in the midwest US. I keep it running at all times (heat @ 104 all winter and spring; filter running 24/7). I only noticed about a $25/ month increase in my electric bill (probably helped that I had a dome over it when it was less than 60 degrees) and about $10 increase in my water bill (considering I drain every month). Filters run me about $5 a week and the chemicals I chose average about $35/ month. So about $100 per month in recurring costs for me. The above are my personal opinions and unpaid recommendations.

I’ve had my Saluspa for almost a year now. I was skeptical that it would be as sturdy as it seemed, but it has been absolutely great! Friends had also expressed skepticism but once they’ve seen it, they are just as impressed. I live in Wisconsin but kept mine up year-round because I have it in a detached garage. I’ve learned a few things along the way I’ll share here: -the square shape (as opposed to the circular one that’s also available) maximizes stretch out space. I’m 5’10” and can fully stretch out with someone sitting next to me doing the same and I don’t feel crowded at all. -fitting four people in this at once would be challenging unless everyone is petite, sitting with their legs crossed, or with someone sitting on the ledge with just feet in the water. It works best with two adults. -you want to have the full range of spa chemicals on hand and water testing strips before setting this up. Depending on the water where you live, it can take several days to get the water chemistry balanced. I’ve been using Clorox spa chemicals (bromine instead of chlorine) and very happy with the results. -the chlorine floater that comes with it is useless. Buy one for less than $10 elsewhere on Amazon. -depending on your water quality and how often you use it, the filters get gunked up quickly. Consider showering before getting in—you’d be surprised how much of a difference it makes. Deodorant, hair products, sunscreen—all of those things wash off in the water. Think about if you took a bath regularly and never changed the water! It will get gross and you’ll have to change the water more frequently if you don’t rinse off. -The filter system/heater automatically shuts off after 72 hours. There is no other way to keep it running unless you manually turn it on again. This is an issue only if you’re going to be gone for an extended period of time or want to have the tub at a high temperature on demand. You basically need to run it constantly if you want to keep it above 100°, unless maybe you are in a very hot climate and have direct sun on it during the day. -The hottest temperature it can get is 104°. When you run the bubbles feature, the temperature drops more quickly than when you don’t run it. The bubbles will automatically shut off after 30 minutes. They are also much stronger than I expected! -other items to get that I have found super helpful include a small net to skim the water for inevitable debris, a cupholder, and underwater lighting. All of these are things you can find on Amazon. -make sure you have a long enough hose to reach the spa. I also bought a submersible/portable sump pump to remove water from it when it’s time to change it. Depending on how often you use it, you will need to change the water every 3 to 6 months. There’s only so many times you can use water clarifier chemicals to make the water look good again. -unfortunately I am seeing ridiculous pricing on these items right now due to the pandemic (spring 2020). I suppose it is a market demand kind of thing, but if you don’t absolutely need one, you might want to hold off until prices drop below $500.

I purchased the square version of the Coleman SaluSpa. The product came in one large box, with the spa itself vacuum-sealed and very compact. The pump and compressor unit took two people (me and my five year old ;-)) to remove it. Once removed, it was easily handled and transported to where I wanted to set it up. It came with a ground cloth, which is basically a low mil bubble wrap. Set everything in place, followed the directions to pump up the unit, filled with water to the marks on the side as shown, turned it on and BAM, instant hot tub. Now, if you fill this thing with water from you spigot outside, it takes about a half day to get up to temp. I’ve only had it in the summer, but it hit the low 60’s at night the last couple of days and it is 104 degrees when I got in it in the morning. A couple of items of advice: 1a - Buy bromine, not chlorine. The vapors from chlorine with make it rough to handle. 1b - When you buy bromine, 1” tablets don’t fit in the chemical dispenser. I had to chop them in half to make them fit. Took me about 10 min to cut up a whole bottle of Clorox brand. Now they fit perfectly. 2 - Get a skimmer net if you don’t have one. Your body hair and other stuff will get in it and you ought to skim it each and every time you get out. The filters catch some of this stuff but not as much as you would think. 3 - Get a pack of 6 or so filters. I took mine out for the first time in 3 weeks and they look really dirty, but I completely rinsed them out to near brand new condition. 4 - Get scrub brush and go over the water line and clean it a little bit every time you use it. Hell, you’re just sitting there anyway, what else do you have to do... :-) 5 - Use it. The worst thing you can do to hot tub, pool, etc, is just let the water sit there. It needs to have you use it and turn the water over and slosh around stagnant parts. To recap: this thing rocks, it is affordable, it is easy to set up, it works like it should and it can be put up if the weather gets too cold where you live to it...or, you just want a break from hot tub maintenance for a while.

Having bought this to “test the waters” before dropping 12K on a real hot tub. I thought I should do a proper review on it. So, we got this in June of this year, setup was pretty easy about hour, we have a well pump and it took about 45 minutes to fill the tub. After that I would say it took about 24 hours to bring temp up to 104. After that we added about a cup of liquid shock, and lowered the PH and it was good to go. If you ever had a pool taking care of this is easy. Now the details: Size: Two adults fit perfectly in this, two adults one small child is tight. Use: Remember this “blows bubbles” it does not have jets, but the bubbles are relaxing. Maint\cleaning: Again, if you have had a pool this is a piece of cake, as far cleaning all the “dirt” seems to accumulate in one spot, so what I did was get the shop vac and do quick burst where the dirt was. Never had to add water or Air to tub this season. Temp: So, this gets tricky, June and July we had plenty of days in the nineties and I was able to get away with only running the heater 4 hours to get a temp over 100. End of August and September it was more like 12+ hours “use the app to maintain temp works great”. No real noticeable bump in electric bill so not an issue, but I do see videos of people leaving this up all winter and here in PA the only way you could do that is to have it run 24 / 7 and I’m not sure how long the pump would last doing that, as we now have to put a new Roof on, the 12K hot tub is going to have to wait. All and all I highly recommend this, for $500 bucks it’s a no brainer, hope to get 2+ years out of this (May – Oct) then get the real deal. You guys in the lower states I’m sure this could be used all year round.

The spa was really simple to assemble and my initial impressions were positive. The liner felt like good quality and the pump/heater though underpowered was adequate. So positive was my initial perception, that I bought a second one to give to my parents - and recommended that my sister even purchase one for herself. That's a total of (3) units. Now after having used my spa for just over 7 months, the poor quality is starting to show. First, the air pipe that allows the pump to blow bubbles began to have a small leak. There is supposed to be a one-way valve within this line, internal to the spa liner, that prevents this. This part is obviously defective and just do a google search for "Bestway A-Pipe Leak" and you'll see that this is a common problem. The second issue is that the heater element relies on substandard rubber o-rings to seal the heating elements within the heater chamber. The use of rubber in such an application where the water is comprised of sanitizing chemicals was an engineering error. These kinds of seals should be Viton or Buna at minimum. Needless to say, the seals deteriorated and now the heating element is leaking (you can see the leak emerging from the base of the pump). To add insult to injury, I registered the product upon purchasing it during fall of 2019 - but did not set up and begin using until this spring. My warranty is now expired and Bestway is not helping in any way other than to offer to sell me the same substandard replacement parts. Having purchased (2) of these, I wish I would have saved my $1200 and just built a unit out of water tank, recirculating pump, and tankless water heater. This is NOT a unit that you can expect to get more than 7 months of use out of (no I am not using it in temperatures < 40F before you quote the manual to me). I would not recommend this unit to anyone. Save your money and either build something yourself or get a "real" version. ************UPDATED 12/23/2020*************** Adding two stars as Bestway agreed to replace my pump under warranty. So that others are aware, the pump/heater carries a one year warranty and the liner only 6 months. I will make repairs to the faulty liner myself by installing a check valve in the pipe. Also, would like to call out this supplier for price gouging as I purchased this unit from them last year for right at $500. All in all, you can expect the liner to last about 7 months before it starts leaking through the air pipe, and you should plan on a pump replacement around that same time. For the price you are essentially paying up front for two units. I would rather have just gotten higher quality unit in the first place.
