This is a must have for pool owners of every style and size. Choose the unit that matches your pool and you will see how much easier pool maintenance becomes. It doesn’t perform magic. There is still work to do and chemicals to balance but it does cut down a lot of the work and lowers the need for as much chemicals. We first added one of these to our pool one really hot sunny Summer when the algae got out of control. We scrubbed like crazy and shocked the water before adding this to the main skimmer basket. It immediately improved the water balance and helped to keep the pool algae free for about 5-6months. We still had to do regular scrubbing but there was less organic material to scrub. We still had to add chemicals but a lot less than usual. Overall, this small little device helps to save money and time. It is just a little bigger than a baseball and fits in either the skimmer basket or the pump basket. It is just a piece of copper (algae’s mortal enemy) tubing stuffed with a mixture of dissolvable copper, and other related safe for human chemicals, tucked in a little basket that slowly released the copper mixture and copper ions into the water which eliminates algae. Get one, try it out.

It really works! Have been having trouble treating algae blooms. Used mutiple other treatments with lottle effect. Added this to the mix for a 32000 gallon pool and it cleared up! No algae in cement grooves at bottom and water is blue! Read the directions A couple things, place in skimmer basket and use recirculation only first 24 hours. Have PH balanced. Don't use other chemicals like clarifiers and algaecide treatments. Clarifiers take the copper out of the water.

PoolRx is working better than chlorine for me. It’s been two months, and there hasn’t been a single sign of algae in the pool. With this I don’t have to spend hours every week adjusting and balancing the water chemicals, which has made pool maintenance so much easier and more relaxing. Now, I just test the pH and alkalinity before swimming, and that’s it. The water is surprisingly clear and clearer than I’ve ever seen it. I’m honestly impressed with the results!

This is by far one of the best products I’ve ever bought for my pool. It really helps keep the water clear and algae under control with much less hassle. I’ve purchased PoolRx multiple times because it works so well, and I’ve recommended it to several other pool owners too. It definitely cuts down on chlorine purchases, which is very expensive nowadays. If this is one thing you ever buy for your pool, you’ll thank me later! Definitely a product I’ll continue buying!

The Pool RX-Black works well... It is expensive ($90/unit-good for a 25-30K gallon pool) and in the CA summer heat may not last the full advertized 6 mos effective life. It also requires that you keep your pool chemistry balanced (free Chlorine levels, pH, Alkalinity, Ca Hardness). I have tried a number of other liquid algicides with mostly marginal to poor results - they are all expensive, especially if you have to keep adding more because they aren't doing an effective job and you have to do extensive cleaning to keep the algae off the bottom and sides of the pool. The Pool RX unit just sits in the skimmer or pre-filter basket and controls both black and yellow algae (good pool chemistry is important). If I got the full 6 mos of effective control with one unit, I would have given Pool RX 5 stars.

I wish I took a before and after pic. But I’m absolutely blown away by the performance! With running it only 20 hours, my pools algae cleared up and the water went from cloudy to crystal clear.. I have an in ground 35,000 gallon pool with an upgraded 420 sized filter (meant for larger pools) and 1.5hp multi-speed upgraded pump. These factors also played a big role in the 20hrs that it was ran to clear, however, my water did not look anywhere near what it does now with PoolRx. This product also lasts 6 months, coming out to about $10 a month. I will probably save about $60-$70 in chemicals per month, to get it where it is now with the PoolRx. I’ll be a customer for life!

I was skeptical about purchasing this item but a family friend recommended it. I couldn't get rid of the yellow mustard algae. Tried this item thinking I didn't have much to lose. I scrubbed the pool every few days or so for about a week and a half. The algae gradually starts to die off. Also, I haven't needed to shock my pool. This item is worth it!

This thing truly works. I just dropped it in my return basket, and within maybe 48 hours, algae was gone. I use less chemicals now, and my water stays crystal clear. It’s amazing!
