Description

Enjoying your beautiful pool just got easier with the convenience and power of Clorox Pool&Spa Shock XtraBlue2. Each bag treats 12,000 gallons of water to clear cloudy, smelly water. This fast-dissolving pool shock kills bacteria and removes swimmer contaminants while helping control algae growth. It will not bleach your liner or affect your water's pH level like other brands. Shock your pool weekly and after pool parties and severe weather to remove contaminants, destroy odors, and keep the water clear. No premixing is required and dissolves fast! Shock day or night! Save time when shocking, as our XtraBlue Shock2 will treat 12,000 gallons of water and you can swim in 15 minutes! Always apply according to label directions. For best results, add to the deepest end of the pool with the filter running. Circulating pool water when applying chemicals helps disperse chemicals throughout the pool for maximum coverage. The best pool shock on the market, use once a week during your weekly maintenance program. Pair with the Clorox Pool app and XtraBlue Chlorinating Tablets for best results.

  • If you have an outdoor pool, with trees nearby, this is a life saver!
Style: Pool Algaecide
If you have an outdoor pool, with trees nearby, this is a life saver! We have two oaks that dump pollen, and turn our pool green. *Weekly pool service isn't enough* depending on the season. - This really helps maintain our pool in between pool service visits, along with chlorine.

  • This stuff is great!
Style: Pool Algaecide
This pool was green and you couldn’t see the bottom 48 hrs ago! I’m new to pool maintenance but I plan on using the maintenance amount each week going forward. It’s affordable and works great!

  • Works great if done right
Style: Pool Algaecide
If people are complaining this doesn’t work, it is because they have a different issue than this is meant for, or they are just not doing it right/lazy. It also needs a few days to work, and kept up on. It works for the mustard algae. Not sure about black or red, I don’t have that issue. I suggest buying two of these jugs right away. Wait until early evening. Pour a whole container in (spread out amongst the pool, pour some directly in the skimmer too) and sweep your pool really good. Get all the green. Read the instructions. Get your ph correct and then Shock the pool. Put a pack in, wait two hours and put another one in. Run the filter over night. Give it a couple days, and you will probably see some algae growing in the spots you missed. Sweep again and make sure to get those spots. Be sure to get into all the nooks and crannies with a smaller brush too (do it right! If you don’t it will just multiply) Put another half a container in and another shock pack. After a couple more days, clean your filter since all that dead algae will be in there. After that, it is just maintenance. I put about a 1/4 bottle in each week along with my other chemicals. This is pretty standard procedure for ‘sanitizing’ a pool of green. If you do it right this stuff works. I have no algae growing in my pool and it is crystal clear. And I have a dog that runs and jumps in with dirty paws 18 times a day…but still no issues staying clean. ... show more

It worked, but took a long time, and I still had a little green left on the walls Should’ve been a little stronger

  • Effective Against Algae on Water Feature or Fountains
Style: Pool Algaecide
When the weather warms up the water in our water feature in our backyard which is consists of two 4 and 3 feet urns or vase turns green. Before learning about this algaecide, I apply a lot of heavy duty bleach and it will clear the out the green color in few days. Sometimes, if I put too much the water will turn blue and there will be lots of bubbles. With clorox, it cleared the water in few hours. It did produce some bubbles but it was gone in two days. Right now, the water is still clear and it's looking good. ... show more

  • Great in a pinch
Style: Pool Algaecide
Our local store only gets one large shipment and uses that throughout the year. Once they are out they are out. This did a great job and was comparable in price. What was even nicer is that is showed up to my door. Depending on what's available as well as pricing I might just use this in the future rather than going to the local store where the prices seem to continue to rise. ... show more

  • You have to use the whole bottle
Style: Pool Algaecide
This product is not as good and effective as HTH 67084 Swimming Pool Care Algae Guard Advanced The reason I bought this is because the one I buy wasn't available, so I tried this. I thought the price was amazing until I got the bottle and read the instructions. Per the label it states to use the ENTIRE bottle. All 128oz .... I thought, "Oh come on, I don't need to use the WHOLE bottle" - so I tried to use it like I do my HTH product. It didn't work at all. So I had to add the rest of the bottle a day or two later. This just isn't for me. I like buying the 32oz, only having to use 2oz weekly and having a bottle last me longer than a day and the cost of the 32oz, here on Amazon, is worth it to me. Granted the clarifier is separate and a separate cost, but I don't usually need a clarifier - so again, this way is best for me. However, if you prefer all in one and have a place to store a few bottles of this, it might be a good product - since I didn't use it as it stated, I can't say how well it actually works. Maybe if I'd poured it all in at the same time things would have turned out differently, but I can't honestly say ... show more
