It worked well to remove the water on my above ground winter cover. It drained it down to about 1/2" of water before losing suction. The edges are rounded and I didn't have any concern it would snag my cover. It's not overly heavy but it did sink my cover down sufficiently enough to channel the water to its lowest level below this syphon pump. I was able to remove part of the hose stiffness by dropping it into a bucket of hot tap water until it unkinked.

I was debating what to do with my smaller size above ground pool because I didn't want to completely take it down for the winter. This was a great solution! I needed to drain the last foot and a half of water, so I ran the tube through the lowest hole where my pool's tube goes in for the pump. Once I pumped a bit to get it flowing it was good to go! It can't get every drop out obviously, but it's thin enough to get the water down under an inch. The last tiny bit of water is no big deal because that can freeze without causing issues to my liner. I'll just pump it out again whenever snow accumulates in the pool and melts during various winter thaws. I'm hopeful that it'll work perfectly to stop ice from being able to puncture the liner through the winter. For what it is, this siphon is good enough quality to do the job. It's well worth the price for the simplicity of using it! It worked perfectly for what I needed it for.

It takes a few pumps to get it going, but once it does it really does a good job getting most of the water out of the top of the cover. My only complaint is that the hose came tightly twisted up, and it does not want to seem to relax. I'm sure if it was out in the warm sun it would stretch out a little bit better, but of course I'm using it once the weather is cooler and the functional length of the hose is just a lot shorter because it wants to stay coiled up. Maybe if we get a few sunny days it will stretch out more.

Decent usage on pool of water accumulating on the above-ground pool cover or just anywhere where pool of water collects and needs to be drained/dried out right away. The plastic, much like other reviewers have mentioned, is a bit stiff but inwas able to mold it a bit using a regular hair dryer to shape/straighten it out a bit. Very light weight and i see it being used for a couple rainy seasons so worth the money for is functionality, durability and ease of use

After years of dealing with standing water on my pool cover, I decided I would try the pool cover siphon. This is a simply genius gadget, that will help maintain my pool in the winter. The siphon is easy to use, the main piece is a nice size and weighted so it will stay down and not float. The hose is a nice length, and everything seems to be of good quality. Great purchase, and will definitely make your life easier.

This is a nice little pool siphon. The end that goes in the pool is weighted down with what seems like sand, however the hose that goes into it is very rigid and not flexible at all so it's hard to get siphon end to stay flat and under the water, which is the reason for my 4 star rating. I would suggest something a little more flexible to that is sits correctly. I am going to permanently attach something to weigh down all four corners and I think that will help. I love that we don't need to run any power to drain the cover, there is a nice length of hose that comes with the set. It certainly doesn't drain the cover very fast, but I don't think that really matters, you set it up, walk away, and it takes care of itself.

The media could not be loaded. After months of my boyfriend telling me to get a siphon for my pool cover, I finally got one. He was right, it's much easier using a siphon to get the water off the cover. We are in the process of draining the pool for the winter. We had a lot of rain, so this arrived just in time. There were no instructions (one star off). I have never used a siphon before, so it would've been helpful to have some instructions. My boyfriend showed me how to use it. Now I have it inside the pool to help with the last 3" of water. I don't know how we would've done this without this siphon.
