  • Nice fit and good tone!
Replaced the factory exhaust on a 2012 Rubicon that had 75,000 on it through all climates and terrain types, so much baked on mud and dents and scratches galore. The Borla fit perfectly in place, I'd argue better than the OEM model simply on the basis of the hangers alone. I did have to grind a bit off the driver side tail piece due to a weld point that wasn't as smooth as it should have been in order to get the black chrome tip on but it wasn't a big deal. I haven't taken it off road yet so I'm unsure about clearance over the rear axle but hopefully no issues there which is my only area of concern. I'm not sure if there is any change in clearance due to the 3.5" lift installed, doesn't look like there should be but it may flex more than stock so who knows. The sound is pretty nice when at idle and at highway it seems to be no different from factory at least with the hardtop on. Almost seems to be getting a better tone as time goes on too, but for sure it no longer sounds like a prius ;) ... show more

  • It's only for show now
This resulted in a gain of 0 MPG and no noticeable horsepower gains on a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (JKU). This may be due to the fact that starting in 2015 the JKU's computer resets itself at every startup to factory parameters. This is why performance programers don't work on those models. We also installed a K&N air filter and a Throttle Body Spacer and got nothing. I've seen other Borla systems raise my MPG by at least 2 MPG in a 2002 Dodge Durango, 1999 Chevy Silverado, and other cars but there was not change to the JKU. I've also felt the difference in power in those vehicles but here there was nothing. The install was a bit more of a pain than previous Borla systems. The JKU uses little metal nubs on the stock exhaust to help it lineup at the factory I guess. The Borla looked like it had a notch, but in the wrong place for the nub and it would have pointed the hanger straight down. A dremel grinder and handheld file took care of the nub and allowed the exhaust to seat properly. Without grinding that down the muffler was bumping the body. One tip I recommend is to coat the joints/overlaps with anti-seize, just in case you need to take it apart later. It doesn't make it super easy but its better than nothing. The sound is OK but its not the rumble of a V8 obviously. Its actually very muted and stock like unless you put your foot down and then it gets a little louder. The look is amazing though. The black tips and the dual look are very nice. I'm a little sad that what I always considered an essential performance and efficiency modification is reduced to window dressing now. If I had it to do again we might have skipped this or waited until we had all of the other mods done before considering this. ... show more

Love the sound but muffler was dented and it was a pain in the a$& to install because these parts are not spot on as far as fitment. Amazon would only refund 5% for the damage which really sucks since I paid over $1000 for this thing!
