This is not active cooling, just passive. What we have here is basically two big CPU fans and cooling blocks used to radiate heat, this a third fan to pull air into the chassis. PSU on this unit failed on 2nd day. Seller was very quick to help and send replacement PSU, which was easy to install as long as you're not scared of screwing/unscrewing some wires. Seller was very responsive, so big plus in their favor. PSU is a standard type that can be had elsewhere if need be. The most important bit in this thing in the fan/temp control unit, the rest is just basic power wiring. The unit is for cooling only, and I am using it as part of the cooling loop in my 300W laser cutter. It's good for tracking temp of coolant, and is a good heat dump before going back into the reservoir. The pump that comes with it is kind of laughable, and you'll likely want to replace it depending on what it is you're cooling. Probably work fine for an aquarium, but for a laser cutter want to push as much as one can. Overall I like the unit, it does exactly what I wanted it to, but do feel it's a bit over priced for what it is, but that is tempered by the very responsive CS. ... show more

I use this on a 20 gallon aquarium, and it does a relatively good job of keeping the water temperature at 65 degrees. Ambient temperature has a huge influence though... If my house goes above 78 degrees the water temperature also goes up rather quickly. This would be far better on a smaller tank, but for the price it does a pretty good job. ... show more

The pic is a practice run to check operation and verify the are no leaks. Room temp 75° Start water temp 72° Chiller set temp 67° with a 2° differential (to maintain a reservoir temp between 67° - 69°) Reservoir temp was at 67° in 30 minutes. If your goal is to maintain a DWC reservoir temperature lower than thermal equilibrium with room temp, this chiller does the job. First lesson: roots can (and in my case, did) get sucked up in the submerged water pump. This slowed the water flow enough that ice formed in the chiller causing all flow to stop. After thawing, i cleared the roots and then added a porous filter around the water pump. (I used a filter for a pet drinking fountain) It's been working perfectly since. ... show more

Got this to keep my daughter's axolotl tank water chilled at an appropriate temperature. It stopped working all of a sudden. I reached out to customer support via WhatsApp and they are supposed to be sending a new one to me. They told me to reach out here but the "window for returns/customer support" has ended even though there is a 1 year warranty. Hopefully this will get to them so I can get a new one. ... show more

I bought this in late March of this year to cool a 10 gallon tank. Worked great until today. Room temp 73F and cooling the water to 68 F. It takes several hours to cool. Cannot talk to anyone has to send an email. They responded first 24 hours later and wanted more information. It is now 24 more hours later with no further response. We will see how good the 1 year warranty is ... show more

15 GAL Hydroponic tank (insulated) 1000 watt led light ambient room temperature 82* (average) goal: maintain average water temperature of 15gal tank at 68* aerated and with recirculating pump unit well boxed arrived quickly good instructions hooked everything up to my tank plugged the cooler in to 110volt wall plug (USA) and set the thermostat and temperature differential. I wrote down the time and water temperature for both intake and tank and went to bed 8 hours later I went and checked my temps. the cooler had shut off due to temperatures being at setpoint (68*) since then THE Poafamx16gal WATER CHLLER IS WORKING AS DESCRIBED IT KEEPS MY 15 GAL HYDRO TANK AT SETPOINT.
