I recently upgraded from a lesser brand name. I love this grill, the only reason for 4 stars is the cooking grates. I replaced them with cast iron ones. original ones to me aren't very cleaning friendly. Cooking temps are very consistent and the smoke flavor is very noticeable compared to my old pellet grill. As for the gas side I haven't tried it as of yet other than making sure it worked and cooking off the factory oils and debris. Assembly was pretty much straight forward and easy with no problems, but I would suggest some help at certain points because of slightly heavy and awkward parts to lift and put into place. ... show more

This is an awesome product, though I have yet to connect propane to that side because the smoker side has been just so much fun. The only issue was that the retaining bar for the propane take has a flattened piece by where the cotter pin goes, and that would require a hole with a slot, but the frame only had a hole… no slot. I had to Dremel out a slot in that hole for the retaining bar to slide through, then had to repaint the slot to ensure rust didn’t have a place to grab ahold. Still, even with the slot problem, would certainly buy another, though since there are all sorts of spare parts, and the barrels are so thick and heavily constructed, I’m pretty sure I won’t outlive this grill. ... show more

After quite a bit of research, we decided to buy this smoker/grill. It took a while to have it delivered, and it did take a bit of effort to put it together. However, we have smoked brisket, turkey breast and salmon, and grilled steaks, burgers, and lobsters and everything has turned out well. It's nice that there are two meat thermometers and that we can control the amount of smoke. There's a lot more summer left, and it will definitely get used. Works like a champ so far . Only draw back is some rust on the flame broiler and will monitor that and update if that becomes an issue . have cooked 10 or 12 meals so far and done some light smoking and everything has come out perfect. Would recommend.
