I really love this smoker! I have used it three times so far, and the meat has been delicious and juicy every time. The last time we used it, we had company over, and I put baked beans in the smoker as a side dish. They turned out so delicious that our guests complimented them! I’ve been very happy with the results so far and really enjoy using this smoker. I’m looking forward to trying more recipes with it. So far, I have made chicken, baby back ribs, beef ribs, salmon, and a tri-tip. The salmon was restaurant quality; it was so tasty, and the ribs were so delicious!! Just thinking about how yummy it was makes me want to use it this weekend. Clean up was not to bad either. I just soaked all the racks and scrubbed them for next time. The temperature controller was easy to use. Overall, great value for the price. handle missing on the wood chip holder. Also after one use, the wood chip holder is very hard to pull out due to deformation.

I got this thinking it was a great value with it being a well known brand. I've seen pit boss around real stores so I know they aren't total junk. All things considered though I'm very underwhelmed. Assembly was fine enough, though it does take a while to get everything set up. This has a smallish tray suitable for wood chips, but probably not chunks which was a disappointment (but hey, you don't have to use pellets!). Temperature control is a bit of a mess with this thing, the built in thermometer is useless, but if you're really getting into smoking you probably shouldn't rely on that. My biggest disappointment is just how disappointing things feel overall. While this doesn't feel flimsy, things don't feel especially sturdy either and there's a real lack of that heft you associate with nice things. I guess my expectations were too high. Overall this is just a disappointment to me. It would be fine as a "starter" smoker, one for folks who want to dabble in smoking but don't want to fully commit, the problem is the price. This is not priced as a beginner smoker, there are far cheaper simple units out there, and far nicer units out there for the same price. This really puts this in a lousy position where it's honestly not bad at all, but when you take the price into consideration well... I was disappointed and I didn't even pay for this. My Wife was browsing through Amazon when she came across this smoker, showed it to me and after reading all the specs I ordered it. So far we are happy with it. We are new to smokers so we are learning as we go. This smoker has 983 sq in of cooking surface with via 4 racks that are adjustable. The temperature is controlled by a simple knob that gives management and consistent temperature control. The unit has rear wheels to make moving it a breeze using a handle on the back. The grease cup is removable for cleanup. The burner puts out 2500 btu. There is an external temperature gauge on the outside. The door has a solid and adjustable seal on it. You need to allow about an hour or more to put this unit together. I wasn't too happy when I took all the parts out and saw that I was going to have to build the smoker. It did go together relatively easy. The instruction say not to use a power tool to build but I just adjusted my drills clutch and used it and it made the job go much easier. I used a clutch setting of 16 and didn't strip anything out. That was the only down side I have come across so far and in this day and age it is to expected so I didn't deduct any stars for it.. The instruction were "fairly" clear. It is pretty sturdy and solid after I finished building it. Now we have to go into town and get propane, meat and smoking material. Looking forward to our first smoked brisket. We'll know more after our fist cooking. The price of this Propane Gas Vertical Smoker is $300.34 which seems to be lower priced than other smokers. I recently got the Pit Boss 3-Series propane gas vertical smoker, and I couldn’t be happier with it. All i wanted was a basic LPG smoker to replave my rusted out Dyna-glo. The size and simplicity of this smoker was what i needed. And it would be good if it worked. The chips at lowest setting burned up in 15 minutes. I called support, they said they would send a replacement regulator. Weeks later they sent a part that wouldn't fit. Seems when looking for parts for this smoker Pit Boss doesn't even know. So they reordered the needed parts they said would work. 3 months ago. I call (after 65 people in front of me and 45 minutes on the line) and they say, "That part is on Intergallactic backorder with no release date". Wasted 300 dollars. Don't buy from Pit Boss. Tey are doing away with propane smokers. ... show more

This is a nice smoker in my opinion. Its easy enough to put together. The quality is good as well as near as I can tell anyways. I believe that it is worth the asking price in my opinion.
