First it is super easy to assemble took less than a hour, second it’s really easy to turn on and start up, the temp probe is super nice you can set the meat on and forget it. My dad owns a smaller version of this smoker, and I wanted to upgrade him for his birthday. I got him this one. So far it has been a dream. It works very well, maintains heat in a reliable way, and the giant hopper is a huge benefit when doing long or overnight smokes. Also doubles as a fantastic pizza oven. I bought this for the grill master in our house. If you’ve been on the fence about getting a pellet grill, stop waiting and DO IT! Being in the south, we needed a solution to grilling when it’s humid outside, it didn’t matter how expensive the charcoal, it just needed constant babying. So I surprised my husband with this grill. The price was great, the quality is outstanding, he put the majority of it together without assistance, and he cooks on it 4-5 times per week. Not only that, but he gushes about how much he loves it on the regular. No more changing dinner plans because it’s raining, this pellet grill solves that problem! I also want to do a huge shout out to the delivery team. Let’s face it, this thing is NOT light. They were professional, quick, efficient and very polite during delivery. Box was finally delivered about a week late. Box beat up, opened it anyway, a few scratches and part of leg bent. Decided I could live with it and put it together. Easy to put together even with out all the screws, had to go buy some at Lowe's, finally got it together. Went to turn it on and didn't work. Followed trouble shooting guide and checked fuse all good. Finally comes on while moving control board back and forth. Looked for a loose wire but can't find anything. All it does now is turn on and then off blinking. I will be returning it. ... show more

Not 100% finished putting it together, box was pretty well abused when the order was delivered, found one leg damaged which I was able to straighten and use otherwise it was undamaged. One of the holes where the pin for the wheels should slide through was drilled to small for the pin, had to drill it out larger to get the pin in, lock washers were too small and fell though the holes drilled for attaching the legs. Didn't finish putting it together but hope for no more issues and to finish it tonight. Need attention to detail - tonight better go well! ... show more

I was super undecided on a smoker. Decided on this Pit Boss and man am I glad. Never owned a smoker until now and I wish I had gotten one earlier. The only draw back, is that the temp fluctuates a little bit and with 25 degree adjustments, it’s not the most precise. However, everything I have cooked, (pork butt, ribs, burgers, chicken, etc) has come out great. I will try some tri tip and brisket soon enough. The fluctuation hasn’t been enough to effect my meats to a point I can notice, and it’s mostly wind that causes the issues. I have heard you can get a blanket that insulates them, I don’t know, but I might look into one for cold weather smoking. ... show more

Very east to put together, instructions were well written and had great diagrams on what went were, great packing and separation on the small parts, and all parts were labeled in packaging and named by type and label in instructions. Quick to fire up and clean out. Did a 3 hours burn out on it at near max temp to make sure no oils/grease/packaging was in the system, then did a 2 hour 300f smoke in with the inside covered in seasoning oil(think cast iron seasoning) and the first two smokes were done the next day, with out any issues. For owning less than a week I would highly recommend this to everyone, new and experienced smokers alike. ... show more
