Gadget Lovers, Meet Your New Favorite Printer: The Phomemo M834 When it comes to gadgets, I’m always one of the first to jump in and explore every feature—and today was no exception. I just got my hands on one of the newest products from my friends at Phomemo: the M834 Bluetooth Thermal Printer. This compact powerhouse prints on 8.5" x 11" and A4-sized thermal paper—completely ink-free! I chose the sleek black version, and I have to say, setting this bad boy up was shockingly simple. From unboxing to first print, it took me less than 5 minutes to get it running. Here’s what I love: * Wireless Printing via Bluetooth – No tangled cords or complicated connections. * Inkless Thermal Technology – Say goodbye to costly ink refills. * Ultra-Portable – It’s small, lightweight, and comes with its own carry case—perfect for travel, office, school, your car, or home. * Versatile Size Support – Prints standard documents on A4 and 8.5" x 11" sizes. * USB Charging – It charges conveniently with the included USB cable (USB-C, no less). This is more than a printer—it’s a miracle gadget that fits perfectly into a minimalist, mobile lifestyle. Whether you're a student, a digital nomad, or just someone who hates dealing with ink cartridges, the Phomemo M834 is a total game-changer. Nice Portable Printer
Color: Black
In today's world of portability, this printer fits the bill. It's light and compact. It takes rolls of thermal paper or individual sheets, or folded reams. So it will fit most printing needs. It's only black and white. But that also makes it perfect for documents, letters, etc. It dies fo multiple shades of grey as well. So some images look pretty good. It's not expensive either. I'd say most people who have a laptop can afford one of these to throw in their bag with it. I would imagine this would be perfect for college students. The paper is purchased based on how long you're going to store it while using it. The shorter the shelf life, the lower the price. So the paper is also reasonably priced.

Printer Works Great!
Color: Black
I rated this printer 4/5 stars. The print quality is great, and the app is easy to use, though some features require payment to unlock. The printer has a bit of weight to it, but it feels sturdy and well-built. The printing speed is decent, but if you like very fast printing, this might not be for you. It’s a little loud, but since I’m using it for wood burning, the noise doesn’t bother me. The thermal paper isn’t recyclable, which is a downside, but it’s still better than throwing away ink cartridges. The color quality is great and not faded. The included case is solid, and I love that you can adjust the paper clips inside to fit smaller rolls. Overall, I definitely recommend this product for the value you get for the price and it functions very nicely.

A handy printer built to handle multiple printing needs
Color: Black
Overall Impression - The printer comes with a case that contains all the included accessories: USB-A data and charging cable, USB-C adapter, and three continuous thermal paper rolls (53, 80, and 110 mm widths). A Letter paper roll is pre-loaded. - It also supports A4 paper rolls, single sheets of Letter and A4 thermal paper, and continuous thermal label rolls. Pre-cut label rolls are not supported. - A single touch button controls the printer: long press to turn it on and off, double press to print out technical info and a QR code to help pair with the mobile app. Single-sheet paper is auto-fed when inserted through the rear slot. Manual paper feeding is unavailable. - Paper size is selectable in the mobile app or PC Print dialog. Replacing the paper with a different size requires adjusting the paper holders in the printer paper compartment. Letter and A4 differ slightly in width, so it's important to position the holders correctly. - For Letter or A4 sizes, the printer outputs the full paper length regardless of the printed content. For other sizes, output length matches the printed content length. - The 110 mm paper roll can be used to print 4" x 6" shipping labels. The smaller paper rolls are useful for sticky notes. - The printer is compact and rechargeable. A 5V 2A USB-A power supply adapter should be used. A PD USB-C charger didn't work for me. Using the Mobile App - Pairing the printer with the mobile app via Bluetooth is straightforward. Just follow the in-app setup instructions. Once paired, you can select the paper size, which should match what is currently in the printer. Auto paper size detection is not supported. - The app supports printing pictures and documents by either opening them within the app or sharing them from other apps. Editing, resizing and layout adjustment are available. - Depending on the paper size, the Home tab prioritizes printing of documents for Letter and A4, and printing of images and notes for smaller sizes. Additional features include image and document scanning with OCR using the phone's camera, creating notes using templates or from scratch with text and graphics from the in-app graphics gallery, printing websites and banners. Created notes can be saved to the phone. - While some advanced features, such as AI-assisted document and picture editing, and premium graphics, require a subscription, the app is fully functional for most applications without the need for a subscription. Using with PC - The printer can be connected to a PC using a USB-A port or with a USB-C to A hub. Direct connection via a USB-C to C cable or the supplied USB-C adapter didn't work for me. Once connected, it's important to follow the Quick Start Guide instructions to install the printer driver. - Once set up, you can print pictures and documents as you normally do by selecting Print (Ctrl+P) from the menu of your program. The Print dialog opens where paper size and other printing options can be chosen.

It was ok
Color: Black
The printing quality is good. The app that it uses is not that user friendly. I also wasn't fond of the paper roll. The pages stayed rolled up after I printed it. But maybe not bad if it's used as a receipt or to tape down.

Works Best With a Laptop and Cable, not an iPhone and Bluetooth
Color: Black
First, this thermal printer will work well for what I want. I purchased it to have a printer when we travel in our RV, wanted a small footprint that is easy to store, and did not want ink or toner. It was not purchased for high volume printing. However, there are a few oddities and negatives. First, even though I have several USB cables that work with both power and data, I found it will only work with the supplied cable. This could be a problem if the cable ever gets lost or damaged. Second, although I plan to use it with my M5 MacBook Air, and it works well with it printing a wide variety of documents, if printing from the iPhone app, it seems to only work with Microsoft documents (Word, Excel) and PDF. I use Apple Pages and Numbers, and although it will print those formats well from the MacBook, those documents are not supported by the iPhone App. You must convert them to PDF or a version of Word or Excel, something I would find problematic if I were printing any of my documents from the iPhone. Regarding printing from the app, the instructions are not quite clear when you first print using Bluetooth. When it states you should press start and scan the QR code, I did not see the QR code until the 3rd time due to the tightly curled the paper on the roll. I had thought the instructions meant to scan the bar code in the manual, which I thought odd but not correct. After I saw the QR code printed on the 3rd try, it connected after scanning it. Turning it off when connected to the MacBook, you you must disconnect the cable to the MacBook first. In regards to the quality of print, the rolled paper that came with it is difficult to uncurl as it is very tightly wound. The flat letter sized sheets I purchased work well. The print is easy to read in fonts sized 10, 12, 14, and 16. Smaller fonts are harder to distinguish, despite the "improved" print quality advertised on this model. You can definitely tell that these are thermo paper copies. The paper is thinner than regular copy paper, and the print is not as dark, even if set on thicker lines. I would not recommend using it for a professional proposal. It does not print as fast as all of the videos and stated page speed indicate. However, roughly averages 8-12 seconds depending upon how many characters or the size of any images. I found the iPhone app difficult to use and that it will only print PDF, Word, and Excel a problem for me. Despite the oddities or shortcomings, this meets all of my requirements using my MacBook laptop and the USB cable. I gave this 4 of 5 stars if you intend to use with a laptop.
