Its a good headlamp. Have purchased multiple for Military training and deployment. Are there brighter lights out there? Yes. 100%. This thing isn't incredibly bright. Understand that this is a tactical headlamp. If you want to blind people its probably not for you. But if you need multiple colors of light for working on different things. I got this to replace a Tikka XP that I’ve had for about 7-8 years and was finally wearing out. It is a little pricey but worth it for me. The RGB is more useful than I thought - the blue light in particular is good for walking at night when you need more light than the red but still don’t want to blind other people. We go camping 5-10 times a year and use our headlamps a lot so the cost was worth it to me. You may not need the RGB but I recommend at least red for everyone. If your headlamps get a lot of mileage and you’re wondering if the RGB is just a gimmick I’d say it’s worth the extra bit of cash. These things last a long time. Also the controls (dimming, white->color) are intuitive and I haven’t found any annoyances. Petzl makes the best headlamps! ... show more

Excellent light What I like best is the white light starts on low and then goes to medium and then high A lot of lights I’ve had in the past start on high which is less than ideal in a lot of situations. I would rather ramp it up than have to tone it down. I Love the red. The green is excellent for night tracking. Blue is cool but not really practical for me. At least I haven’t figured it out yet- maybe snow tracking at night? Winter is coming, gonna try that out, never do blue before. Good lamp. Use it a lot. I wanted to upgrade my head lamp I use for hunting. Couldn’t be happier with this light for navigating in the early morning or early evening darkness. The flood of the light beam makes navigation easy. Don’t expect a focused beam that projects light a long way. The red, green, and blue light options are nice, although I mostly use the white and green lights. Did I mention this thing is very light weight? Im sorry Petzl, you make a good product - this isnt one of them. Not durable. The minute I took it out of the package two things came to mind: 1. I will destroy this. Just not durable at all. I could break this easily. I could be wrong, but I doubt it. 2. Waterproof? It opens kind of clam-shell style from the TOP!!! The seal is just not confidence inspiring at all. Check out Cabela's Alaska Guide series. Ive taken them in the field in absolutely horrible weather and they work great ... show more

Up and out in the field 2 hours before sunrise to get into my tree stand. This headlamp worked great. The redlight is just enough to see the trail and get to the ladder and climb into the stand.
