Moderate brightness, good value. The red is too dim to be of much use. Some other headlamps can be adjusted so they shine up or down, good for up close work. This is not adjustable. Uses 2 AAA batteries, easy and cheap to replace.

The light is bright, and the battery housing feels durable. It’s nice to have a lamp that shipped with high quality batteries so that’s a positive. The lamp portion of this product works well and illuminates the space directly in front of you. Where this headlamp falls short is the construction of the headband. The package came with two headlamps and two straps. Both straps had lackluster stitching where it mattered. That may have been an isolated quality control issue. The had banned straps are one of the few components to this product so the fact they were poorly stitched was the reason I couldn’t give this a higher rating. ... show more
