    • This is one of my favorite tools ever
I usually keep going after dark doing outdoors work, or in cases when I have to run cable, work under a sink or do electrical work when I have the circuit breakers off. This light is very bright and lasts a long time with 1xAA battery. I use it at night to walk my dogs, blow leaves or snow, or find stuff in my shed which has no power feed. I bought it because an electrician friend owned one, which was given to him by Amazon as a gift when his company did wiring for a large online retailer's warehouses here in Virginia. The light feels very comfortable on my head, it doesn't come lose, has a good size and good quality on/off switch and the battery is easy to replace with good quality parts in the battery compartment, usually not the case with this type of tool. Very good quality product unlike other lights like these which I bought at the big blue box store and were painfully difficult to turn of and one, and had very poor quality battery inserts. I didn't get mine free, but it was worth every penny, great quality product so thanks Dewalt. This is one of those products which I will buy an extra replacement one in case they discontinue it, like some companies do with excellent products I've purchased in the past. ... show more

    • I didn't like this light
For the first 6-7 months, I didn't like this light. It doesn't have a wide light spectrum, so I'd use a different light (LED). After using several other (LED) lights, I seem to always go back to this DeWalt. The fact is, this light is rugged(but heavy) and well built. I've now used this light for about 2years now, doing commercial construction demolition, usually at night on the 3rd shift. Even though the light spectrum is smaller than other lights, this light is more direct. It doesn't make big reflections off of shiny objects because of how direct the light spectrum is. I've found that this is my favorite light for my hard hat. I only get about 6-7 hours of useable light out of it, so I bought some rechargeable batteries and charge them everyday (I swap the newly charged, I have 4 batteries). Now that I'm used to the type of light this eminates, I've found it harder to see with any other headlamp. The beam is direct, bright and clear. Some other lamps are brighter, wider and less expensive. But I have found that their lights are not as direct, cause more reflections and break easier. I love this light and highly recommend this light to anyone who is getting dirty and bumped around, while using a headlamp. I'd buy this product again even if a competitor said they'd give me 2 free ones to buy theirs. That's how much I like this light. I have no need to buy another one, because the one I purchased is a quality product. I might buy another one just to make sure I have an extra, in case DeWalt discontinues this product. ... show more

Hello all!If you know me from other products then you know I have something good to tell you😁Before I get started what does every repairman,technician,laborer,etc hate doing?We all hate working in the dark!Especially when you're hands are full!!😅Fear not this headlight will change all that!It's small and compact featuring an adjustable headband.It's very light with LED bulbs giving a bright view.But you may ask well what does this have to do with working while your hands are full?Well aside from having a button that turns on and changes brightness level,right next to is a 'hands-free mode' now if your under a car,holding wires,carrying equipment,this mode helps with flexibility.The built in motion sensor allows if you have your hands full,but need to turn your flashlight on just wave your hand or a buddies hand infront of it,or mot even that I've noticed this works with stationary objects as well and BAM no more struggling.I think everyone needs this type of light and know you'll love it.10/10 recommended👍🏻 ... show more

I like this light. I have an appreciation for things that just work like they are supposed to. It is designed for work and mounting on a hardhat, and it fits that bill well. There aren't any frills on this light. It has one power button and a twist dial for 2 settings, low and high, which is good to me as I don't like hitting the power button to cycle through all the lights on cheaper variants. It uses AAA batteries, which is good cause they are readily available. That said, this light is noticeable when you put it on your hardhat. There is some heft to it.     • When you need light exactly where you want it and lots of it
There comes a time in everyones' life when you need light, but do not have three hands and the light needs to be exactly on what you are working. This headband light is perfect. The band is adjustable, the light is not heavy, adjusts up and down and it has two brightness settings. It uses three AAA batteries. There is a caution about looking directly into the LED light and I suggest that it be followed, especially if a child may have access to this light. It is not a toy. I normally use it on the low setting as this provides plenty of light. The high setting is very bright. My one gripe is that some type of padding should have been provided on the back of the light, because that it where it meets your forehead. If the strap is too tight - headache. If it is too loose - the light sits on the bridge of your nose. Well, so what you may say. The problem is that the adjustment of the light is very much an individual choice. If more than one person will be using it, then each person will most likely want to adjust the tightness of the band to their comfort level to hold the light comfortably in place. It really is a nice light and very easy to use and it has DeWalt's 3 year warranty. ... show more
