This has been excellent in getting my 9 yr old grandson outside with his dad exploring more. He has found a lot of couns and a few othwr interesting items. It's easy for his to operate and lightweight yet also able to withstand a 9 yr olds excited throws when he has located things. I do wish it was a bot more accurate and did detect a bit further than it does but over all it is a great start for younger children to learn on!

I got this for my son for Christmas and because we are in Wisconsin he only just started being able to use it about a month ago he used it maybe 5 times and it already does not work anymore, extremely disappointed in this product and can't find any way to contact the company. ** edited to add, after this review the company contacted me, they were super helpful and they replaced the defective metal detector at no cost. The new metal detector seems to be working great, not super strong, but being for a child it is perfect. Thanks!!

Bought this as a gift for my 8 y.o. Has been easy to use and has been finding lots of things on our property. Found a spoon, old matchbox car, lots of old nails and metal pieces, and a key so far. Been digging up items about 3-4 inches deep. Beeps and detects well. Will look into getting a pin pointer just to better know exactly where located under ground.
