I have had this litter robot for about 4 months now and it has been life changing. I have two cats so scooping became a hassle. The appearance is sleek and well made. The air purifier works well to get rid of smell. The size is fairly large it fits both my 13lb and 7lb Siberian cats. Fairly easy to clean and set up. The camera is also very good quality and works very well in identifying my two cats. Overall it is pricy but I would recommend this litter robot as the opened concept felt a lot safer than some other litter robots on the market. I use tofu litter and it works perfectly fine. There are times where the robot has slight issues such as the weight balancing being off which causes the robot to not be able to fulfill the clean cycle. But some adjusting of the placement usually solves the issue (make sure robot is on a flat hard surface).

I rarely write product reviews, but after using the Petlibro Luma for over a year, I felt it was important to share my experience so potential buyers have a realistic understanding of what they're purchasing. To be fair, the core functionality of the product is acceptable. Most of the time, it performs its primary job as expected. If you're simply looking for an automatic litter box that generally works, the Luma can do that. However, what ultimately made me disappointed with the product—and, to some extent, the brand—is a pattern of design decisions that feel more focused on recurring revenue than on creating the best user experience. For example, the waste bags are relatively small and expensive compared to generic alternatives. I eventually switched to third-party bags that cost significantly less and work just as well. The more confusing design choice is the porous bottom liner litter pad, which Petlibro recommends replacing periodically. After a full year of ownership, I still don't understand why a porous material is placed at the bottom of a machine that is routinely exposed to urine and feces. In practical use, I have never encountered a situation where I thought, "This material serves an important purpose." Instead, it seems to absorb odors and stains over time, creating yet another consumable part that users are expected to replace. The subscription-based AI features are another major disappointment. At over $100 per year, the subscription is not cheap, especially considering the quality of the features provided. The urine and stool detection is often inaccurate. What bothers me more is the "correction" feature that allows users to manually fix incorrect classifications. While this may improve the system over time, it essentially means paying customers are helping train the company's AI. It's difficult to justify paying a premium subscription fee while simultaneously providing free data labeling work. The video playback experience also feels surprisingly poor for a paid service. Recorded videos frequently take 5–8 seconds to begin playing. In 2026, that's hard to overlook, especially when I have cloud-based security cameras from other brands that offer near-instant playback without requiring an additional subscription. Reliability has also been a recurring frustration. There have been multiple occasions where the unit reports that the waste bin is full when it is clearly empty, or claims a sensor is dirty when it is not. The system often insists the issue is user error rather than allowing the owner to manually override or reset the warning. In these situations, the only option is often to wait and hope the machine eventually resolves the problem on its own. This creates the feeling that the product is still a prototype rather than a mature $500 consumer appliance. Instead of simply working, it sometimes feels like the customer is expected to help troubleshoot and validate the product. Overall, the Petlibro Luma is capable of performing its basic function, but the combination of questionable consumables, an expensive and underwhelming AI subscription, and recurring reliability issues makes it difficult for me to recommend at its current price point.

I have been using an older Litter-Robot 3 for many years, the version without the camera, and it has held up extremely well over time. It is still working after years of daily use, which really says a lot. Since I have multiple cats, I recently decided to add the PETLIBRO Luma. I wanted a second automatic unit and was especially interested in the AI tracking features for a multi-cat household. The setup process was very straightforward. The instructions were clear, and connecting to the app only took a few minutes. Once everything was up and running, the cleaning cycles worked smoothly. It automatically runs after each use and so far has been consistent and reliable. My cats adjusted to it very quickly. I was slightly concerned about introducing a new machine since cats can be picky, but the open-top design seems to feel natural and not intimidating. It is spacious and easy for them to enter and exit. The AI camera and multi-cat recognition feature was one of the main reasons I chose this model. In a home with several cats, being able to monitor litter box usage is helpful for tracking health patterns. The recognition is not perfect every single time. Occasionally it does not correctly identify which cat used the box. However, it still provides useful overall data and trends, which is valuable in a multi-cat environment. Since these machines are not inexpensive, durability is important to me. My older Litter-Robot 3 has lasted for years, so my biggest hope is that this unit will also hold up long term. So far, the build quality feels solid and performance has been consistent. It looks promising and I am satisfied with the purchase. If it continues performing this way over time, I will consider it a worthwhile investment for a multi-cat household.

My cats love it it's safe because it auto turns off if it senses movement with the camera gives lots of info about my cats easy set up my only beef is the trash container sensors the bag has to sit perfectly and the cat poop/pee just towers up and sets off the sensor saying it's full when theirs plenty of space also I dislike the needing to be on tile/hardwood thing most of our house is carpet so it was not easy to find a spot for it it kept the smell under control easy to clean out it's quiet for the most part it's a little heavy but not nearly as bad as it could be

Don’t buy Petlibro. This machine, is the size of a small washing machine. The box was the size of a washing machine I could not carry the box in the house by myself or take the product out of the box. The machine takes up a quarter of the room it’s in. It is not consistently worked since I bought it. It gets clogged up and the flimsy plastic flap in the back doesn’t consistently shut. The machine requires expensive replacement parts consistently. It’s finicky thinking a loose plastic bag means it’s full and takes many efforts to resolve every bag changing. Customer service is terrible if you buy it through Amazon because of Amazon short window for returns on this item complaints to pet Libro generate AI repeat” I’m sorry this is frustrating” emails asking for videos of problems and suggesting educational homework assignments … suggesting I do a lot of work to fix their problems The last few of maybe 8 emails from Petlibro -me trying to get this junk out of my house -was me receiving the same AI bologna about frustration empathy. I also bought 2 cameras from Petlibro and. neither camera has consistently stayed connected to Wi-Fi. All my other cameras do. Pet libro cameras were more often off than on until I shut them off entirely Again Petlibro won’t take these back from Amazon after a small amount of time which was less time than it took me to put them up. Now I am stuck with a washing machine weight and size spaceship in my house that smell smells like cat pee and I need to figure out how to get it and the dysfunctional cameras to the landfill What a nightmare

It worked great for about a month. Then one morning, to my confusion, my cats food dish had vanished. What sat before me instead was what only could be described as Christmas morning for my cats, from my perspective it was 2 lbs of cat food. The pile was large enough her food bowl was barely visible. I'm tech savy and understand there could have been several logical malfunctions so I switched outlets, usb docks, reset the entire thing changed the times and portions, cycled it with the manual feeding option, and watched it that entire day to make sure it was functioning correctly and it was. Day #2 after incident- Christmas morning two days in a row. Another stockpile of food awaited me instead of a hungry eager feline ready for her morning treat. Both cats in the house probably had gorged themselves all night to the point the had 0% interest in their favorite treats (the puree ones in the tube that most cats act like they're kitty crack). At this point, with it being vital for my cats health as she is an extreme over eater and needs to be on a set schedule not to get sick constantly, I reached out to support as I just left my exchange window. I was forwarded to the manufacturer by the amazon rep which to their credit was very helpful. On the other hand, I can assure you PETLIBRO intentionally makes there exchange/refund process so convoluted and time consuming. There is no one in their right mind that knows anything about customer service that could not realize that the hoops you have to jump through to get this item replaced is ridiculous. After doing pretty much everything I already did, they want you to go through more technical steps to diagnose the feeder on a mechanical level. If I try to turn the feeder wheel inside that separates the portions out with my hand manually, this thing barely budges so obviously there is appropriate friction of the gears which would lead me to believe this thing is possessed and is punishing my cat for her sin of gluttony. At the end of the message if none of this works, they want me to send a video recording of it working, and showing the feeding results. I use an auto feeder for my cat for a reason, I AINT GOT TIME FOR ALL THAT I CANT TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BOWKING BALL AND MY CAT THANKS PETLIBRO. Needing a replacment asap I just went with a competitors product that's half the cost, better reviews, and also has wifi. Works perfectly and own two of them for both cats now. TLDR: No mention under product description that you'll wake up to scene out of the exorcist and find a comical amount of cat food every morning. If you like jumping through hoops to get a replacement you're in luck. On a positive note, getting that good of a laugh in 2 mornings straight resulted in a pretty great week.

I absolutely love this litter box. I previously had a litter robot 3. It did well and lasted several years. I was considering upgrading to the new litter robot but I have multiple cats (two that don’t like to share the same litter box) so wanted to have two separate litter boxes and didn’t want to spend $2000. So I decided to try this one. I’m so glad I did. One thing I love about it is that it’s not a totally enclosed litter box which one of my cats had an issue with. Also, I absolutely love the air purifier that comes on when it’s shifting the waste out. I ended up also getting the same companies, water fountain and love that also I’m very highly impressed with these litter boxes and the water fountain. Oh yeah, and another thing I love about this is that you can remove the litter mat on the inside and replace it. I don’t know about the new litter robot but the old one you couldn’t do that and after a couple years all the waste was sticking, which is why I was considering upgrading. I’m so glad I invested in these. It has made my life so much easier. Highly recommend!!!

The initial cost was a worry for me. Did I actually need this? I think the selling point was asking myself, “if it was legal, would I pay someone $1 per day to stay by my cat’s litter box, immediately clean it, and spray air freshener?” The answer is yes! Definitely worth the price.
