This can be difficult to deep clean, but it really doesn’t need to be deep cleaned that often as long as you make sure to dump the drawer everyday and change out the litter regularly. I’ve went months without taking it apart to clean it fully. It is pretty heavy, but it doesn’t take up an unreasonable amount of space. I have it in a corner by my trashcan. Depending on the type of litter, there isn’t much of a smell unless it has just been used. I use Dr. Elsey’s litter. A hard clumping litter definitely works best. Don’t overfill it or you will lose a lot of litter that ends up in the drawer. I don’t go by the percentages shown in the app or on the screen as I’ve not found them to be accurate. I just look at it to check the level isn’t below the minimum. There is a scented spray that’s included that sprays periodically and that seems to work well as I hardly ever notice a smell until it runs out. One bottle of the spray lasts months. I had this 10 months and there was a power failure. At first it wouldn’t turn on at all. After a few hours, it turned back on but the screen wouldn’t work. The box worked as normal but I couldn’t see any of the settings on the screen. I contacted PETKIT and they sent me a brand new one within a couple of weeks. It wasn’t a difficult process to get the replacement and the customer service was excellent. They also didn’t ask that I ship the broken one back which is awesome since it technically still works for the most part, so I can keep it as a backup if I ever need one. The app for this could definitely use some upgrades, but I don’t really use it anyway. Do we really need an app for everything? Just dump the waste out daily and pay attention to the amount of litter in the box. I do keep the app to force it to do an extra clean or spray extra air freshener and it works fine for that. The sensors work VERY well, and it will stop whatever it’s doing when the kitties walk up. At first they were curious and would poke their heads in when it started to clean to see what was happening. It stops immediately as soon as they are in range. I never worry about them being hurt by it like I’ve seen happen with some of the other self-cleaning litter boxes. All in all, this is 100% worth the money. I can’t imagine going back to the “easy clean” rolling litter box or scooping.

The media could not be loaded. **Updated review with my replacement unit: I didn't think it was possible, but it's somehow even worse than the "defective" unit as shown in my video. Got stuck upside down for 10 of the 12 hours it was put together and was completely nonresponsive with every click of the button. There are simple features that others like the litter robot have, such as being able to bypass issues with a manual cycle. With this, literally the ONLY option when it's stuck upside down is to take it apart, set the globe in correctly and then put the lid back on. I think this is officially the worst review I've ever given I did SO MUCH research on alternative robot litter boxes to my litter robot connect 3 and I've had this set up for 3 weeks now. I'm using so much self control to write this review as professionally as possible. I purchased this when I was fed up with my litter robot being stuck upside down. I travel a lot and love having something that I can be gone for 2 days at a time with, which was the original LR3. The new litter robot sensors are far too touchy, and numerous times I would come home to my litter robot stuck upside down, making my cats use the bathroom in various places of my home because they had no choice. Each time there was an issue, it was the robot being far too touchy and thinking things were wrong when they weren't - for example the "anti pinch sensor" would activate and shut off the function of the box, but after cleaning halfway and cycling until it was upside down and my cats could no longer do it. I liked that the Petkit Pura X had the built in air freshener, and all the reviews seemed to be from people who switched from the litter robot connect 3 for the exact same reasons that I did. Fast forward to delivery of this litter box..... Set up was fine although the lid is an extreme PITA to get put in place correctly, and the smallest movement would pop it off or shift it around, prompting the first issue. Once you got it set and left it, it was fine. The first issue came when I was gone for 2 days and mistakenly trusted the litter box to do as advertised...I came home the next day and it hadn't cycled the entire 48 hours because the "cat was in the litter box". There was no cat in the litter box, there was no cat NEAR the litter box and my cats had been in the litter box NUMEROUS times to use it without it properly cleaning before this error popped up. I restarted the litter box 5+ times and it re-powered with the same error each time. I called customer support, who answered quickly but was pretty useless. They said "yes this is a common issue that we hear of"....ok, then maybe figure out what you guys need to do to stop it from happening? After a few "try restarting it" or "let's recalibrate it through the app" (which also doesn't work if any errors are showing, since you can't bypass them) I was told that it must be a faulty unit and customer service would send me an email with the next steps. I asked how to at least reset it to level and I could power off for my cats to use and was told I couldn't. I had to take the ENTIRE unit apart and put it back together, leveled how it should be and turn it off. While I had it taken apart I deep cleaned it, although only 3 weeks old, and it started barely cycling as usual again. Fast forward to today...only a handful of days after the last issue. Went home to check on the litter box on my lunch break since I got an anti-pinch error and sure enough, the litter box was full with barely any litter BUT this time my waste drawer was also full, which was odd considering I had just tossed the bag not even 24 hours before. When wrestling with the unit to get the drawer out, it was full of both the dirty litter and had somehow poured all of the clean, expensive pellet litter in with it wasting an entire $30 case of litter in one sitting. I already initiated a return and re-purchased another unit in case it was faulty, which was delivered today, but honest to god you're going to have to put a ridiculous amount of effort into persuading me to keep this. It has been the most ridiculous waste of money, but I'm willing to give the new unit a shot just in case the first one is in fact faulty, but I'm also ordering a different brand to use at the same time to compare. If this replacement unit somehow works the way I had originally hoped, I will come back and update my review to reflect that.
