I’ve been using the PETKIT PuraMax 2 for a little over a month now with my two cats, and I have to say—it’s made a big difference in my day-to-day routine. Overall, I’m really happy with it, though I do think the setup process could be a bit more user-friendly. What I really like: ✅ The odor control is amazing. With the N50 deodorizer running, you honestly wouldn’t even know there’s a litter box in the house. I was worried about smells with two cats, but this took care of that right away. ✅ The app is super convenient. I love being able to see when my cats have used the box, check their weight, and get a reminder when it’s time to empty the waste bin. It gives me peace of mind, especially when I’m not home. ✅ It’s really quiet. I was surprised at how quietly it runs. My cats weren’t scared of it at all—which says a lot, considering one of them jumps at the sound of a paper bag. ✅ Perfect for multiple cats. I have two, and I only need to change the litter bag every 7 to 8 days. It keeps everything tidy in between without any extra effort from me. What could be better: ⚠ The initial setup took some patience. Getting the app to connect and installing the deodorizer wasn’t exactly straightforward. The instructions could definitely use some improvements—it wasn’t super intuitive. ⚠ It’s not cheap. This was a bit of a splurge for me, and while I do think it’s worth it for the convenience and cleanliness, it’s still a decent chunk of change. If you’re a cat parent who’s tired of scooping and wants something that helps you stay on top of your cat’s health and hygiene, this box is a game changer. Just be prepared to spend a little time on the setup—and a little money up front. But once it’s up and running, it really does make life easier.

Here's why I rated so low: 1.) CONSISTANT MALFUNCTIONS 2.) CONSISTANT CONNECTIVITY PROBLEMS 3.) RUSTING PARTS 4.) INSTRUCTIONAL MANUAL IS NOT ACCURATE TO WHAT IT SHOULD BE What was the problem with the product? Answer: a. There were too many annoying issues to constantly unable to solve minor issues; therefore, I had to watch approximately 10 videos online as to what the issue could be. b. Had to constantly take apart and put it back together > resulting with malfunctions that would not be able to fix it self. c. Being a tech person myself and understanding that there can be underlying issues, the configuration and the coding for the sensors are absolute trash. d. It is not worth the money that it displays when you look into this product. Was buying the product worth it? Answer: No, it is not worth your money for the amount of constant issues and malfunctions. ( Yes, I say this once again > It is a horrible product ). Even some of the parts were rusting because you "aren't supposed to twist the deodorizer too "tight"; therefore, the liquid leaked". What are my thoughts? Answer: If I could tell anybody off of the street or any pet store that would want to sell this, I would let them know they are making a huge mistake and a horrible choice. I would rather pay the Litter-robot 4 (TOP TIER AUTOMATIC CLEANING LITTER BOX ON THE MARKET) than for my money to be spent on this ridiculous product. When it comes to making someone's life smooth and livable with buying things on amazon, this product will test your emotions and regret pressing the amazon button "ADD TO CART". I have wasted ENDLESS amounts of hours trying to fix this "so called..AMAZING AUTOMATIC LITTER BOX", and the past 5 days, I literally regretted every choice that I had made and breathe. I look into products for quality, effectivity, long-term life and I would lose a breath for this product. Love love love!!! I could not recommend this litter box enough and most definitely worth the investment. It’s amazing quality and looks very sleek so it’s not a total eye sore. I only deep clean the box once a month and that’s with 3 cats! It can be a little bit of a pain to deep clean it but again it’s only once a month compared to cleaning everyday and my apartment doesn’t smell at all!

Overall, this is a nice automatic litter box. I’d say it’s a good alternative for the Litter Robot. Things I enjoy: 1) it’s easy to assemble and instructions are clear 2) performs all the necessary functions on the machine itself and in the app - automatic cleaning (can turn off with kitten mode) and optional periodic cleanings, deodorization (need to have purifying liquid installed), litter leveling, maintenance mode for cleaning/adding litter, etc. 3) the quality of all functions are as intended - It does accurately sift out clumps of urine and feces with minimal effort and collects them in a central waste bin without clumps sticking to the inside walls or getting stuck (gross). If the litter clumps are sticking to the inside of the litter box, there’s an issue with the litter you’re using, NOT the litter box itself. Make sure you’re using clumping litter! Crystal litter that doesn’t clump will NOT work. Automatic cleanings and deodorization have all performed well and accurately after the cat leaves the litter box. 4) app is well designed and easy to navigate - not only can you perform all the functions listed above from the app, but it also keeps track of each cat’s potty usage as well as the amount of litter and deodorizer left, and will notify you (if you desire). 5) actual construction of the litter box is well done - Rotates with ease, easy to disassemble, waste bin is intuitive and the odor eliminator packet inside really does get rid of the smell of feces and urine. The sensor on the litter box is also very accurate. I have 2 bengal kittens that look very similar, and it is able to recognize which kitten is inside the litter box based off their weight. As with any automatic litter box, there’s still maintenance involved. The entire unit should be disassembled and cleaned every month because there’s a lot more areas and crevices that will eventually get gunked up. So yeah, you don’t have to scoop every day, but honestly, I think the automatic litter box involves just as much work if not more than a regular litter box. This kit includes everything you’d need - a mat, a roll of waste bin liners, odor eliminator packet, and 2 purifying liquids. If you’d like to transition from a regular litter box to an automatic one, give this one a try. It’s not overly pricey, but performs just as well as the super expensive ones.

We've been using the PuraMax Standard version for about 3 years now, and it’s been an absolute game-changer. We recently added a second one (PuraMax 2), and the improvements are awesome—faster rotation, better button design, and fun stickers too! Even after years of daily use, our original unit still works like new, which says a lot about the quality. What really sets this litter box apart is the smart app integration. We control both litter boxes and two of the brand's automatic feeders all in one app—it’s incredibly convenient and makes pet care so much easier. I love getting real-time alerts for everything the kitties are up to! The robot itself is super smart. It has sensors that detect when a cat is approaching, inside, or even on top (our kittens are crazy). Our youngest is just 6 months old and about 8 pounds, and it detects them perfectly. Just a heads-up: make sure to place it on a hard surface—not carpet—so the weight sensors work correctly. Odor control is excellent. The deodorizer and waste compartment seal in smells, and swapping out the waste bag takes less than two minutes. It’s quick, clean, and keeps the litter box fresh every time. When it comes time to replace any of the deodorants, you can order any replacements on Amazon or through the app. If you're on the fence, just go for it, this litter box adds to much value to our home.

Honestly I love this automatic litter box and it has made life so much easier for me. Working 36-48 hour weeks I’m often far too tired to bend and scoop out my cat’s boxes and couldn’t afford the higher end ones that don’t have anything more advanced than this one for half the price. It also weighs my cat for me so I can keep track of his health and automatically assigns it to his profile. Cleaning is easy and no hassle. Definitely worth every dollar!

Great when it works but it always freezes and says it “sensor triggered” and then you have to manually double click “OK” a handful of times for it to complete the cycle. I pretty much have had to manually “OK” it each use. Since I’m around and don’t want to scoop litter all the time it has been fine but I bought it so I can be gone for short work trips which is why I don’t want to manually request cleanings or finish cleanings! The sensor does trigger if a cat is near/in it which I love but it also triggers when absolutely nothing is around - like I said - it has stopped almost each cycle. Could by a faulty one but for the amount of $$ I wished it worked accurately. I don’t feel confident I could leave for even a day and it work. The worst part is when it stops it is usually upside down so the cat couldn’t even use it if no one was there to manually permit to continue the cleaning. That being said… cleans well and much better than scooping each night but defeats the purpose of me buying it.
