  • Quail coop
Color: Dark Gray
I bought this to upgrade my quails so have some ground space and it is perfect ! I have 3 quail right now but looking to add a few more to my flock, because of the size golf quail I can get away with 10 more. Chickens I wouldn’t do more than 2, very small for standard chickens. It was easy to put together took about a half hour as I’m a single woman. Price wise vs material I think is a little more expensive than what the actual material is. It’s wood but it’s soft. I have mine under an over hang as we get a lot of rain. But very happy with the purchase and it’s adorable ... show more

  • Find something else
Color: Dark Gray
This is not a great coop, but I opted to keep it. I would never consider putting it outside unless you have it in another enclosure that is covered and locks - then I’m sure it’s just alright. I decided to use this as a transitional coop in my garage after taking my chicks off their heat lamp. I moved them into this coop just over a week ago. I have 6 chicks that are 6 weeks old and this is tight, so even as a transitional coop it’s not really worth it if you have more than 4 birds. Also something I didn’t consider is that they gunk up the slot for the door and it has never slid all the way shut since they moved in. That is not a direct knock against this particular coop, but just a heads up to find something that opens differently. There is no lock on the nesting box, and it seems like the box would be leaky in the rain so be aware of that. Now for the good. It’s obviously cute. It was fairly easy to put together by myself. I did it in about a hour. The run is not attached so it’s easy to clean up, and I have moved that run around to other places for them which has been fun. It fits a 42” dog crate tray inside the run which works well for indoor use and cleanup. All things considered, I’m not mad about this coop but I’m not pleased with it either. So unless you’re looking to spend more money for more work with little payoff, go with something else. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for.
Color: Dark Gray
Understand these are not made with heavy wood. But made well enough to be effective. Overall construction of the kit is good. I assembled mine with ease. It all turned out straight and in line. I recommend hand tools not power drills. If you use a power drill slow and steady. Do not over tighten the screws. I have a similar one that is now two years old and it shows no sign of wear. I particularly like this one. Perfect for 2 chickens. Definitely not more than 3. I say stick with 2. ... show more

  • It's ok, but...
Color: Dark Gray
I bought this for my ducks. It's not horrible but I have a few complaints. I did not have the correct amount of screws. Whatever it was painted with was rubbing off on my hands, almost like powder. The wood was pretty soft and split in some areas. Also the fenced in part is not actually attached to the coop. I would recommend this as a good starter, a brooding pen, or something for small birds such as quail. I see a lot of people wanting to buy this for rabbits. PLEASE DONT! I own 4 rabbits they will demolish it. You can honestly build something better for your rabbits for the same price. ... show more

  • DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! It’s a piece of crap.
Color: Dark Gray
This thing is crap, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! I knew that it wouldn’t last forever, and I bought it to be a beginners coop for us. But it literally started falling apart on the first day. Again, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!! I knew it was going to be really small, and it fits my two chickens just fine, but I definitely wouldn’t put more than 2 in there. Plus, I always let my hens free range the yard otherwise the run wouldn’t be enough room for them. But again, this thing is CRAP. It’s so flimsy... the ramp and the door fell off on the first day of use because it couldn’t support the weight of the chickens. Mostly because every piece of wood is only stapled together so they come apart SUPER easy. Also, in less than 3 weeks the nesting box lid fell off/apart. I tried to fix it with tiny screws but only ended up splitting the wood (which is just cheap, thin wood). So now we just have the lid sitting on top and held down with a brick to make sure the wind doesn’t blow it away! Also, there is basically no lip on the edge of the nesting box to hold the bedding inside. It all ends up getting pushed off the edge down onto the floor of the coop and my hens have nothing to bed down in. They don’t use the roosting bars because they are only about a half inch above the floor, and once you’ve put straw in, they are covered so they are pointless. This was one of the features that I liked about this coop when I chose to purchase, it’s too bad they were so poorly designed! Whoever made this thing obviously doesn’t own chickens, or they would have made it much sturdier. again, DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Just take the time to build your own coop. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for - flimsy and cheap
Color: Dark Gray
Right off the bat this coop is not suitable for normal sized chickens. Anything bigger than a silkie is going to struggle to fit through the door with the ramp. The floor tray (which was busted apart straight out of the box) will in NO WAY hold the weight of a standard chicken, or likely many more the 2-3 bantams. The run went together easily, and the house went together easily, but there is NO connection between the run panels and the coop building. You will have to add latches if you want any sense of security for your birds. The nesting box is roomy, but again, not sturdy enough for a normal chicken and NO LATCH. This product is NOT SAFE if you are expecting to keep predators out. The wood is cheap, split in multiple places when assembling, and easy to destroy from a raccoon/coyote/bobcat/skunk perspective. The paint is more of a primer and I highly recommend that, if you are going to buy this chincy thing, you paint everything with an outdoor appropriate sealer prior to assembly. If you have anything more than a slight breeze in your area, find a way to anchor the whole thing. I'm relatively certain that without preventative measures, this thing will NOT survive the first month of winter. Overall, its a cute little piece of garbage that needs to be in a predator-proof area if you have any hopes of keeping SMALL chickens alive. Mine is within my larger chicken run and was purchased specifically for a tiny D'uccle pair, but extreme renovations are needed to even begin to winterize this thing. NOT recommended for beginner chicken keepers. ... show more
