These shelves are very easy to assemble, but they do require a drill and 1/4" bit to attach them to the walls. The metal brackets for the single floating shelves seem pretty sturdy, but the leaf framework for the two attached shelves is not. I'm not sure what the 40 lb. holding capacity is referring to, but I wouldn't trust any of the shelves—including the two together—to hold more than 10 lb.s. The shelves are a nice size, and easy to attach to the wall. The color is more of a light wood than rustic brown to me. Overall, I'm pretty happy with them, as they will serve my intended use nicely.

This looks so nice and I love how it looks in my bathroom. I really wanted something that wasn't over the top, looked cute but would hold some of my most used toiletries, as well as toilet paper and hand towels. I usually always go for wooden furniture when I can, so this fit nicely in the overall look of the house. I'm more cozy and rustic than modern. My lovely husband put this up for me, and it took him about 15 minutes with the assistance of our 3 year old. Oh and the fact that this came with a mini level was a first! Brilliant! And the price is unbelievable considering what you get. I added a photo to show the finished product and what how much I stored on them. They are sturdy and could hold more if needed. I had been looking for a couple of months for storage above the toilet, and couldn't be happier with this choice. Now we just need to paint the walls and it will look even more wonderful and complete!

These shelves are cute and very lightweight. The weight of the wood shelves, by themselves, is like holding balsam wood. These shelves are a softwood, not as soft as balsam, but soft enough that there are no predrilled pilot holes, and I was able to attach the brackets by hand using the included small screwdriver with no problems and with relative ease. With that being said, I lack the confidence to trust it to hold heavier objects like books, etc. However, I do use these shelves to hold lighter objects, but I wouldn't want to stress them. My personal limit for these shelves is about 10 pounds, however, my husband, a contractor, believes that they could hold up to 20 pounds, but I don't want to risk damage. However, I really like these shelves and they look great on the walls and add a design pop with the patterns in the metal endcaps.

I sadly was missing parts to this and the assembly wasn’t as easy as I had hoped. No holes predrilled, or guidelines on the wooden pieces and mine came missing a set of metal bars. But thank god for my electric drill, a tape measure and all 3 of my brain cells working over time because I really like it! It looks great in my bathroom holding all my skincare. And it looks nice but this is a 2 person job defiantly ( or maybe I’m just a simpleton) but hey I did it I like it

I got these for my sixteen-year-old son to hold all his new Lego sets that he got for Christmas. They were easy to install and are sturdy. I loved the mini-level it came with (I wasn't expecting that). They look really nice in his room and give it a modern, cozy feel.

I had originally wanted the two shelf option, but that wasn't available, so I went with the three shelf option instead, and I'm happy I did. I have a small bathroom, and I didn't have a need for 3 shelves above my toilet, but one of the photos I saw suggested splitting them up, and I thought that was perfect. The two shelves above the toilet provide room for so much. I especially love having extra space for toilet rolls above the ground instead of the ones that stack on a pole on the floor. I also love having the option for candles and scents in a place that won't get knocked off onto the floor (same with reading material). The solo shelf I put above my towel rack so I could have more counter space. I used to keep my makeup bag on the counter all the time, but now after I get ready, I can put it on the shelf and out of the way. I do have to say that the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wood is incredibly thin and flimsy. I'm not a particularly strong person, but I feel like I could have broken it in half if I wanted to with my bare hands. I was able to push the screws in a little to keep them in place before I actually screwed in the nails. The instructions recommend not using a power drill on the shelves, and I would completely agree. If you use too much force, then you risk splitting the wood, and it's really not needed anyway. As far as weight goes, I have a candle on one shelf right now that's a three wick candle, but I plan on switching it out for a single wick candle, just in case. I do trust the metal more than the wood, and it's well bolted in, but I wouldn't plan on putting anything too heavy on these shelves. You could also reverse the metal on the shelves to go up instead of down which would make it easier to hide the metal so they look like true floating shelves, but I did it like this because I like the look and thought the shelves might be a little studier this way. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase, especially for the price. I feel like it's stepped up my bathroom game and given me more space back.
