  • Great starter hutch
It’s a great starter butcher for a medium or larger breed rabbit. We have our male and female Flemish giants in it and they are comfortable in it so far. Both were born in July so they are fairly big right now. It took maybe 30 minutes to put together with hand tools, I would NOT recommend using power tools as the wood is VERY soft and you will go right through the wood. We had it free standing within our chicken coop and it stood on its own really well. I was worried about stability with the light weight wood but it is surprisingly sturdy! ... show more

  • Good for the price
Price reflects quality of wood. This is a cheaply made hutch & shouldn't be kept in harsh elements. The reviews here helped with expectations. Got it for quail. Had to buy real latches for the doors. Spray painted in clear finish. Pro: Easy to assemble if you have a power drill and 2nd person. Don't go too hard with torque because the wood splits super easy. I like the flatter roof to be able to set a water system on it, but this may be a con if you're expecting it to keep rain off Cons: Cheaply made; won't last you if you get it wet. Had an intense odor, I don't know if the wood is cedar or if it's the varnish Needs real door latches installed Litter tray sits differently on top vs bottom. It doesn't let you do a deeper litter because it will spill off the sides. The bottom tray sits better. The divider it comes with leaves a pretty large gap you can't hide with bedding because the tray isn't very deep. ... show more

  • the babies will chew the wood apply "bitter spray" w paintbrush on the spots they frequent
This worked out just perfect for my 2 little sweet potatoes! They're brothers, but they began to get on each other's nerves sharing a cage. This was the perfect compromise. Now they can talk smack at a safe distance, and not miss each other! (plus I save space and this looks great!) They have good space for water/kibble dinner area, play space, and a private bedroom (to fill up with comfies)! I found that using a bath towel with a fleece blanket over it worked the best for mess! I also put their timothy hay in toilet paper tubes and that maintains it a little better. I usually just pick out fleece from a fabric store so its cheaper to get several sets for swapping out and washing to keep up with cleaning. ... show more

  • Cheaply made, find a better quality one. Save your $.
Product arrived and it stunk of paint fumes. The roof material was coming off inside the package. I chose this one because it said weatherproof....I would never put this outside. This hutch is so flimsy. The package weighed 36# total, that should tell you something. The “wood” is the thin very soft kind that you can snap in your hand. The backs and dividers are thin cardboard wood water will destroy it. Assembling it I was worried about lifting it, it’s that flimsy. As soon as we got the bunnies in they began to chew the front edges and within 15 minutes it was clear that we would have to reinforce the wood or they would be though it in the next hour. It looks nice and my daughter really wanted this for her birthday for her rabbits. Once we had it up it felt too late to return but I’d never have bought it had I seen it prior. Very CHEAP. I’m hoping it lasts even a year:/ ... show more

  • It's okay but...
It came super fast and was very easy to put together. I would never leave this outside, as the wood is too weak. The cleaning is fairly easy, although the plastic bottoms have warped just slightly despite the hutch always being inside. I keep my Guinea pigs in here, and they have chewed the wood up. The wood is very soft, and I would not buying this cage if you have Guinea pigs unless you get anti-chew, as they easily bite off chunks of the wood and attempt to eat it . The metal cage door has fallen open twice in the 3 months I have had this product, which would be concerning if your animal was willing to make the jump. Expect to find poop and hay flung all around the cage, as one little kick of a paw send things flying through the grates. When the pigs chew on the bars, the entire thing rattles. Not necessarily the cages fault, but if the bars were secured more tightly, it wouldn't be as loud. The two heart shaped pieces that keep the wood doors closed are incredibly loose. The wood is very soft, so after turning the heart pieces so many times, the screws just wear through the wood, preventing them from being able to be tightened. Overall, it is okay. I do still keep my Guinea pigs in here, after coating the wood in an anti chew liquid. It's a good product, but I think you could find better for the price. Definitely do NOT buy this if you plan on leaving it outside. ... show more

  • Quail and Chicken Brooder
Perfect system for a quail and chicken brooder. Allows separation and customization. I added grow lights for lighting, heat lamps clamped and attached to the exterior, as well as heat plates to the back wall. I also used water and food dispensers that attach to the outside of the coop thus less space taken up inside. Perfect for a garage brooder system! I have it all documented on my IG @rootedfeather ... show more

  • Trays are useless. Needed more thought.
I think for the price they could have put more thought into this. Item arrived with corners damaged. My biggest problem is that the tray that holds the bedding is almost useless. Its maybe an inch deep. I don't know about your animals, but Guinea pigs and rabbits like to kick and dig around. I had to purchase $60 worth of plexiglass to cut and cover portions of the wire grates to keep all of their bedding in as they ran around. Size is fine. The build is fine. Could have done a better job with providing guide holes for the screws. The build was a 2 person job as one needs to hold everything in place for you to screw it together. Overall, it works and looks better than my previous set up. I just wish I didn't have to go out and purchase more stuff to make it functional. Edit: After 3 days of use, I had to go and buy window foam weather stripping to seal the 1/2 inch gap between the tray and frame. The bedding and hay all started falling out between the crack even after I had to plexiglass the wire areas. You can see my 3rd photo for how I fixed that. For that I changed my rating to 2 stars from 3. Edit: 1 month in and the pigs have completely chewed the wood inside to the point they can see out... just a matter of time before they are free. Don't buy this. ... show more
