  • Just what I needed
I only have one rabbit and this Hutch is the perfect size to use indoors. I am very pleased with it. It was a good price for a nice cage. I see a lot of people saying that it's poor quality but, I feel it's plenty strong enough to do what it's intended to do....house small animals. It was easy to put together too. Only took me about 15 minutes and all you need is a screwdriver. I love the tray, it's super convenient to clean. I think my rabbit really likes it too. ... show more

  • Nice and sturdy for small animals, easy to assemble, does need a little extra work.
I bought this for my two guinea pigs as a much needed bigger home less prone to cats(2 lazy cats, but a cousin is moving in with 3 not-so-lazy cats) and various other creatures. The little locks aren't the most secure, but this is a wonderful base to work with if you want something you can change to suit you. Assembly wasn't hard at all after looking over the instructions. There was a small manufacturing flaw with the holes to where you are suppose to screw into the beams that support the upper level tray - but that was easily fixed by using some screws at the front to support them instead. I will be adding chicken wire to the sides and wire at the bottom as well. Overall the structure is sound and plenty strong enough to house little animals. The wood smells like cedar or pine - but the smell went away quickly in open air. I doubt this will harm my piggies. The ramp is a little steep and daunting to my piggies, but I'm sure they'll catch on soon since they like to climb and jump around. The pigs love the upstairs room and there is lots of space for them to move around. And it looks very nice. I hope this review helps people, I am actually quite happy with this - regardless of the few little problems. ... show more

  • Great For a Brooder house for Bantam Hens
Perfect as a Chicken Brooder. I am using this as a brooder house for my broody bantam hen. I plan to purchase a 2nd one asap. I often get 2 broody hens at the same time. The wires are still a little far apart for baby bantam chicks so I did staple 1/2" square hardware cloth to ALL the wire so the chicks are perfectly protected. This house sits INSIDE my coop so they are fully protected. I do not believe this house is weather proof or predator proof by any means to be an outside house. But to keep INSIDE under cover? PERFECT !!! The roof is on HINGES and opens up for easy access. It has FOUR Front doors for easy access and cleaning !! We have taped a piece of heavy cardboard over the opening going down stairs for the first few weeks of the little bantams life until they are big enough to go up and down safely. Once we feel they are big enough, I reach in and untape the card boad and they go up and down with ease. LOVE THIS HOUSE... ... show more

  • Not suitable horrible cage see pics and description. Poor quality wood
We have two rabbits and we needed to separate them we have a cage from a different manufacture but this one looked nice. I didn’t last a week. First of all it was difficult to put together I am in Engineer and it took well over an hour to put the kids together and there were some parts that were not pre-drilled. In general it was a complex build with the worst part being the latches which are also one of the weakest design points of this cage. In comparison our other cage which is slightly larger only took about 10 to 15 minutes to put together so it was really noticeable. With that being said we liked the design and the look of this cage better what’s that were positive reviews stop. There are three main flaws to this cage one is the quality of the wood to is the latching mechanism and three is the metal cage structure itself. The metal cage in the bars are too wide apart at all as the animal or rabbit even a large one the ability to get there pause or a portion over their head through which gives them the ability to do all sorts of things including getting a better angle and a better grip on the wood with their teeth and‘s in order to do other things so the bars being too far apart or a major design flaw. Not only are the latches extremely difficult to put together and Lew K they don’t have any pre-drilled holes so the process to half an hour to line everything up perfectly and pre-drill the holes to properly put together the latches but even with locking watches my rabbit was able to wiggle the right the latch free in minutes even when locked. So within the first day the rabbit was getting loose multiple times per day until we put a security camera on the cage and couldn’t believe our eyes. Lastly the wood in this cage must be made of a type of wood that is much softer than the other cage because as you can see from the pictures the rabbit was able to chew through the wood in less than a week. It’s possible that this is the case because Thrivent has more of a leverage point in order to get his jaw around and chew on the wood. I can’t see this cage being acceptable for an Italian those small animal. ... show more

  • Steep ramp, bowing wood and a little tricky to assemble
My husband and I assembled this together in about 45 minutes, but if we hadn't had a power drill it would have taken a lot longer. We use this indoors as our 3lb rabbit's home, and she seems quite happy. The tray is too thin and cheap to be her litter box - we'd have messes everyday. I instead keep a small litter box in the tray, and that's working out okay. The tray is easy enough to pull out and clean, and the bottom just sits on our tile floor, so that's easy to clean too. We've been using this for about a month and the drawer no longer sits flush. The wood "settled" and now the drawer bows a little at the front. My other issue is the ramp - it's really steep. My rabbit has taken to it, but she kind of has to run up and down, which causes her to make a lot of noise and slide into the sides of the cage. This is okay for us, but i can see a lot of rabbits not liking it and therefore never going upstairs. There is also a lot of wear on the wire from where my rabbit licks it, which is surprising to me. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this. The price was reasonable, and I think I got what I expected. I'm not sure I would buy this again but I also don't feel like I got ripped off. ... show more
