Light was easy to set up right out of the box. I have glass top so I did not need to use the metal rails that came with it. Luckily the instructions were included because the remote was not intuitive enough to use without. M = Mode and is what does more of the work. W turns one/off the white/red lights. B does Blue, and also the 6 levels of brightness. I placed this light on half of my 75 gal aquarium. It lit up nicely with bright white to a slight yellow tint. I did not play much with the blue since I do not prefer blue lights. There is also a night mode. Hold M button to turn light off. Overall, great basic light.     • Good low cost LED light w/o auto control

I got this to replace the cheesy led lights built into a 5 gallon tank lid. They are simple white only leds that do a miserable job of lighting the tank, a small 5 gallon tank at that. I use this tank sparingly, mainly as a quarantine tank or as a hospital tank. So I never know how long I will have it running when I do use it. Last time, I had some fish I ordered online that needed treatment. So I kept them in the tank for nearly 6 weeks. I typically place floating plants into the tank to add shelter, and to reduce light as sick fish are sensitive to brighter lights. The plants also aid in removing waste, so it's something I feel is really necessary with that tank. My old light, had on and off only, and that was it. No level control, and no other colors to provide a fuller light spectrum. Now I have what was missing, full level control and full spectrum led output. The light has strong levels for my 5 gallon, and is everything I needed. . Since I use this tank only part time, I didn't want to spend a lot of money, nor did I feel I needed any auto control features either. This light fits the bill on all accounts. ... show more

This light probably won't "wow" you in most anyway but what you will get is a solid, well constructed LED aquarium light. Super easy to operate and you have full control over brightness and color saturations. You do lack a timer mode so you'll have a simple, "on-off' system. I have a 20 gallon tall tank that I keep my Mr. T, my turtle, in and I needed a new light as the old one burned out. I thought I would try this one as it was very affordable. I took it and tired it out, but since it's only 18" it really didn't provide enough light for my 24" tank. I think it would be fine for a smaller tank, but not for mine. ... show more
