  • GREAT OPTION TO CONSIDER!
VERY NICE Beginner's Aquarium! Large enough to enjoy creating a nice bioscape or artificial landscape for your new community tank! As goldfish must be in a separate tank than my very large Angelfish community tank, I am choosing to use this tank as a separate aquarium for my 2 small, young gold & black calico fantails. Adding 2 Nerite Snails complete the natural setup views. The built in light works very nicely with the flip open tank lid making access to the ENTIRE aquarium for feeding, cleaning and using tools to reposition tank items easy and carefree! The filter is quiet and hoping replacement filters are easy to order and reasonably priced on Amazon. The only downside, if you could call it that, is that you'll need pliers to break off the tabs allowing extra openings to the lid for a submersible heater, LED Bubbler lights, etc. I highly recommend this sturdy, plastic tank for both beginners and those looking for extra tank setups at a convenient price. ... show more

  • Perfect!
Good size tank for a betta fish!

  • Good little tank
It's a great little aquarium and comes with everything you need to get started. The filter is silent and the lid prevents water from evaporating. the light options are very cool-- I'm fondest of the light blue. I have it set up at my office and my colleagues love it. The only thing preventing me from giving that fifth star was that initially the button operating the light strip was broken, making it impossible to control what lights came on when. The company agreed to send me a new light strip for free, and it arrived in about a week. I had to pry the plastic cover protecting the light strip off myself with pliers which was a bit challenging, and replace the light strip myself. It worked out alright but was definitely a hassle. The communication of customer service also leaves a bit to be desired. I would receive one sentence responses that didn't always answer my questions, and as I persisted, they got a little rude. Tl;dr: the tank is great for the price. If a component is broken they will replace it. However, customer service could use some polishing. ... show more

  • Cheap and easy tank for beginners
So I've had this aquarium for give or take a month and I love it. the lights give the aquarium and good look and nice touch. the filter that it comes with is ok but if you have another one laying around that's better I suggest using that one because the filter that is included in the box some times makes weird noises and or stops working for a bit, so i have to unplug it for five minutes give or take to make the filter come back on. overall without a doubt, this is a perfect size and low maintains for beginners. ... show more

  • Perfect Betta Tank Perfect Betta Tank
Ended up coming home from a carnival with some goldfish so purchased this as a temporary home (we were aware that goldfish would grow out of the tank eventually.) The goldfish didn't make it but since we had the tank set up we decided to get a Betta. It's been a few months and we are very happy with the purchase. The Betta seems to enjoy his home, he has a lot of room in this tank. The filter isn't too noisy and seems to do it's job. I'm a bit worried about the lights giving out since they do not appear to be able to replaced easily but we do love the selection of colors. Edit - Not even 6 months later and the filter is no longer working. It's running but water is no longer running through it. We tried to clean it out and troubleshoot and couldn't identify what the problem is. Tank is still okay but clearly durability is an issue, dropping from the original 5 star review as expectations were certainly not met with regards to life expectancy. ... show more

  • Highly recommend Highly recommend
Beautiful and an amazing value! I keep bettas as a hobby (and pets) but the inner child in me has always wanted glofish! So the number of color options and easy viewing angles w/this tank was ideal for me. I was concerned w/some of the reviews stating that there was no cover over the lighting causing rust and shortages. As the lightning was going to be tge main reason for me to purchase I was pretty nervous. However my hood has a thick plastic shield secured over tge light strip (perhaps they've made upgrades?). Its great that it comes with a filter as an almost all-in-one tank, especially if you're new to the game. However i wasn't a fan. It's an unusual and awkward shape and just doesn't seem like the right fit for this size tank. Over the yrs I've compiled extra everything, including several filters, so i used one of my own that blends almost completely into the background. If you don't have extras tho i imagine the one included would work just fine. Less money to pump into equipment. Like other reviewers, the acrylic did have some scuffs, but i expected that having used acrylic for some time now. Some scratches wiped off but ultimately when its filled with water the scuffs are virtually non existent. The hood is great. It has a nice weight to it which is important for me since i have a cat, and i like that it doesn't "attach" to the tank with clips etc. But rather has pegs to rest in specific grooves of the tank, making it easy to open and close for water changes and feeding, but still one less thing to break. ... show more

  • my take as an experienced fishkeeper my take as an experienced fishkeeper
I can’t lie, I have very mixed feelings about this tank. We’ll start with the positives: 1) plastic makes transport easier as it is much lighter than glass/eliminated other drawbacks of glass such as seals weakening or stress cracks over time. the only drawback is the likelihood of scratch marks appearing from cleaning, gotta be careful with this tank. 2) the filter not being built in gives me the ability to easily replace if it gives out. 3) filter is relatively gentile, I specialize in bettas and my female does just fine, I would NOT recommend this for a long finned male, they need water more still than what this filter would allow. i personally think it circulates and filters the entire tank just fine. some negatives: 1) my BIGGEST frustration with this whole tank is the lack of ability to install your own lighting timer system. I have several tanks, all of which run on a 12hr on/off timer. i use the same type of timer for all of them. i cannot set this built in one to a 12 hour setting (max of 8), so i was forced to purchase a timer anyway (not a big deal, i expected to need to do this anyway). however, that does not work either. the lights do not come back on when power is cut (via unplugging or the timer auto off switch), it must be clicked back on manually. i have tried both a cylinder jack plug timer and an outlet timer. neither work. i must say, that design feature makes me straight up furious. i need to purchase an entirely different lighting system now, simply because the designer failed to consider anyone who might want to operate their tank with their own timer or schedule! ugh, moving on… 2) yes, the filter does suck a little. i know most negative reviews are about the filter and frankly, a lot of that is user error. as a professional in the industry i see that a lot and often ignore certain reviews because of it. so here’s my take: if you follow instructions, it’s honestly not that bad (so far, tank has been running for a little over a month). sometimes it gets air pockets stuck between the filter cartridge and the filter itself and will make noise. i just lift the cartridge and shake it a few times and it stops. this doesn’t happen crazy often although it is annoying when it does. DO NOT fully submerge the filter, most of the people who complain about malfunctions have it fully submerged. however, this leads to my last point… 3) i don’t love that i cannot fill my tank all the way. it’s a 6.5 gal but my fish only gets about 5.5-6 gals of swim space because of how low i have to keep the waterline. i normally prefer to fill my tanks as high as i can without getting filter backflow…well you can see in the pic how high that is with this aquarium and filter. Overall, i do like the tank, but i wouldn’t purchase again. it is mainly that damn lighting system, the manufacturer needs to improve that. filter could use some work too. aside from that i really can’t complain too much. seems fairly durable, spacious, my new girl mango is thriving. ... show more
