    • I Really Like the Curved Corners
This is SUCH a pretty tank. The curved edges look very nice. While I have a few tanks already, I’d say I’m still kind of a beginner in aquarium stuff. Setup is pretty easy. Plop everything in, plug it in, and you’re good to go and add water (not fish. Look up nitrogen cycle first.). For a beginner I think this would be a good kit overall. I will also note that after a couple of weeks, no leakage. I really like the enclosed filter casing. I just personally prefer the way that looks. Additionally, the filter cartridge holder has a clip for a heater, which helps it also hide in the tank as well. While I don’t actually need a heater for my stocking, I LOVE that. I prefer having the heater near the filter for water circulation, but I also am not a big fan of having a heater hanging out when the tank is more of a centerpiece. I’m not a big fan of cartridge filters, but they do work, and this no exception. Water runs through it just fine. I might consider using some sponge once the included media eventually starts to disintegrate, as the cartridges have to be rebought separately. The lights are I think my least favorite, but they’re still fine. I use primarily low light plants because that’s what I already have, but I do miss some of the more complicated options such as light intensity. Considering how much I like the aesthetic of the curved front corners, I might like to expand on the types of plants I have. I do like the placement and how they are built in though, so if the lower light plants grow maybe I’ll just get creative. I do like the lid as well. The lid is a two-part lid, with a front glass lid and a rear hinged lid. Using both leaves very little as far as gaps for any wandering mystery snails to try and leave by. There’s a small gap left in the hinged lid for cords to go through, but that’s about it. Personally, I’m a little concerned by the glass lid, as it does feel like it’s not super secure, but that’s because I have a cat who secretly wants to be a fish. I don’t think it’s much of a problem if you don’t have something like that though. Lastly, I like that all of the accessories and pieces of this kit are removable. They’re a good option for a beginner to learn with, but if you’ve got a handle on stuff and want to swap in your own lights/filter/whatever, you easily can. It is a little more expensive than some kits, but I would still say it’s a good value, and I’m excited to watch my snails do their thing in their new home once the cycle is well established. ... show more

This curved front 20 gallon fish tank is absolutely beautiful! I am very impressed with the unobstructed view of the curved front and what a huge difference it makes. The light is great. It does work well at making the neon colors pop. Filter is sufficiently strong and working well. The water flow is good for keeping the water moving and adding oxygen into the water. 20 gallons is a nice size to get established and need minimal maintenance after it's stable. It's large enough to hold a variety of small fish, plants, and pet snail too. The only negative we have noticed is that we are getting leaking around the sides at the top of the lid. In fairness, this could be in part due to the tank stand not being perfectly level. But it's consistent enough we will need to find a way to address the steady stream of water on both sides. ... show more

This is a very nice-looking aquarium that's great for both beginners and seasoned hobbyists. The smooth, rounded edges and crystal-clear 4mm glass look fantastic. I especially appreciate that the tank's internal dimensions are true to its advertised 20-gallon size. The included accessories make this an excellent all-in-one kit for beginners. The internal filter provides good water flow, but it uses proprietary media, which can be a hassle. Fortunately, you can easily cut and use generic sponge pads instead. The light is okay for easy-to-grow plants, but it lacks key features like intensity control, different modes, or a built-in timer. Lastly, the glass front lid can easily fall off, which feels like a poor design choice. However, all of the accessories are fully removable, which makes this tank highly attractive to more experienced aquarists who want to use their own high-end equipment. I've already done this myself, adding my own full-spectrum light and external filter. Overall, I find this to be an excellent beginner tank due to its all-inclusive nature. It's also a great and beautiful tank for any level of hobbyist, though it is a little on the expensive side. ... show more

I am impressed with this aquarium. The rounded edges give it a nice, modern look. The pump and filter are neatly housed in a slim black plastic box that has a built in hanger on the back of the tank. This is a clever design that not only keeps everything neat but also makes it less visible - no more having to strategically place plants and decorations to hide them. The filter box has small holes that keep tiny fish and invertebrates safe. There are other thoughtful design elements that make this aquarium kit stand out from others such as a built in clip to keep cords organized and a separate glass lid to make accessing the tank easy.
