My light in my tank cover stopped working shortly after I bought it. I ordered this as a replacement. I had to cut a larger hole in the cover, but this light works great. I just set it on top of the cover and let the light shine through the hole. I use the white light during the day and the blue light at night. This is a great little light and worth the money! It is nice that it can extend to cover a wider tank. We have used it both on our 10 gallon and 2.5 gallon tanks. The light that it emits is very nice! It is nice that there are lots of options for lighting, although sometimes you might have to click a bunch of times to get the one that you want. Unfortunately there's no off/on butter. You just have to keep clicking until the light goes through all the different settings and turns off. It would be nice to find the daytime setting that you like and then simply have an off button from there. That is the only down side about this light and the reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. ... show more
