Once installed, it’s very effective. It reflects heat well and allowed me to turn the heater from full to half-power, and it still feel warmer. My two star deduction is due to setup and packaging (the product packaging, not amazon’s). The reflector comes as a large flat sheet, but it’s not protected around each corner, so the item was received with bends in both corners, a crease along much of the bottom-long edge, and a dent along one of the short edges. Based on how it’s packaged, I believe damage is near unavoidable in transit. (-1 star.) Once unboxed, the plastic covering extend under each rivet and clamp, so it’s impossible to actually remove it all. (-1 star). If they were to remove the film prior to placing the clamps and package it better, it would be a 5-star product.

Was super easy to install. The hardest part was peeling off the protective film on both sides. From taking it out of the box to seating under it keeping nice and warm was 30 minutes max. I'm a old fart too.

The pictures advertise that you could be sitting down and feel the heat. That is false. I assembled this on my patio heater and although you feel it reflecting on your face you need to be right on top of the unit to feel anything. If you are sitting down a few feet away you will not feel it. Frankly I don’t find these patio heaters in general to be great. Save your money regarding these heaters and the reflector shields.

Damaged when I opened the box

I use a propane heater in my converted garage and most of the times I use it against a wall , thus to protect my drywalls and made good use of the heaters heat output I got this reflector shield and so far it as done a good job of protecting my walls and redirecting the heat output from the heater. PACKAGING - The packaging of this heat shield is not the best , it ships in a simple flat cardboard box with no internal insulation or foam padding . As a result my heat shield was damaged in two corners while shipping. I was able to straighten it with pliers but it wasnt a perfect finish - Another issue with the packaging is that the protective peel comes with a very strong adhesive and was very hard to remove . It takes a lot of time and patience to fully remove it - On top of that, the bolts and rivets are put on the sheet over the protective peel, so its not possible to fully remove it around those ..and some will burn off giving off fumes when used for the first time - For this reason I I take away one star PERFORMANCE & QUALITY - The stainless steel sheet is of very good quality with a polished reflective surface - I am happy with the performance of this shield as it protects my drywalls and they were not getting hot at all - In terms of increase directional heat output , i think there was a slight improvement as well. No earth shattering miracles here Overall this is a nice heat shield, which should protect your walls/plants against excessive heat as well as slightly improving the directional heat output of your heater and my only complaint was its packaging and difficult to remove protective peel.
