  • Panasonic CD Stereo System (SC-PM700)
This compact Panasonic CD Stereo System (SC-PM700) book case stereo system has, thus far, performed as promised and flawlessly. The lush stereo sounds/music, either from a CD and/or the FM radio is clear, full and rich. The entire system is beautiful engineered with an equally beautifully done black exterior presentation, which fits perfectly in our current office book shelf system. The display panel is bright, the enclosed remote controller is functional and easy to use, along with the enclosed FM antenna. Though this compact stereo system is a bit pricer than many current "no-name" brand compact book shelf stereo systems, the overall quality and longevity of Panasonic products is undeniable. For a few more dollars, we'll stick to quality, longevity and excellence every time. Enjoy!!! ... show more

  • Perfect Shelf Set Up for the Discerning Shopper
Perfect for the money! I live in an apartment and wanted something for my bookshelf that was better looking and certainly better sounding than a boombox, but more price conscious and less involved than an AV set up. This hits the sweetspot of sound quality, build quality, and functionlity very nicely. The speakers sound robust - no tinny tweeters - and have nice little feet on the base so they stay put if you bump them accidently. Additionally, their output is tremendous! You can really dial in between volumes needed for soundtrack and metal. The volume knob has a very satisfying resistance to it, it doesn't feel cheap and flimsy, so delightful --- if you even get close enough to it to use the knob because it comes with a very nice remote. The remote also has built in feet and I just really appreciate the feel of it in the hand and the presence of of it - you wont misplace or drop it accidently. Does not come with batteries, which is fine, but be aware. The bluetooth function is easy to use and a delight to have. The drive is only good for a single cd at a time, but for the money and the tech age, expecting more from a shelf set up is where the buyer should be looking into AV/Surround products like Onkyo, Yokohama, etc. Im so enamored with it in the bedroom that I may lose my mind and buy one for the living room for the vine alone. If you're back and forthing over a different model, go with this one - the brand name recognition is what drove me but quality is what convinced me. Its a superb little set up for a small space. Cons? Maybe the power cord is a little short? But that's really neither here nor there. ... show more

  • Amazing sound
Amazing sound for a small unit. It's well made and easy to set up. Picks up FM stations with provided antenna. If you do order, you may have to wait for shipment. I'm my case, I ordered April 8 and Received May 8. This seemed unusual but it was worth the wait

  • Great features but poor sounding speakers. Buy yourself some good speakers, you won't regret it!!
I purchased a used - like new system on Amazon for a much cheaper price. The only damage was to the shipping box. The unit inside was flawless and new. The system has the features I was looking for when upgrading from a 2006 Panasonic SA-AK330 system I've used in my personal shop all these years. I now have USB and Bluetooth and CD, although the 330 had a 5-disc changer I never used the dual cassette decks and rarely the CD. The unit is full of options and settings once you read the manual and figure out the remote. The reason for only four stars is the sound from the cheap speakers. It sounds flat and lifeless no matter what preset EQ setting or custom with the bass and treble. Against the manufacture's recommendation (6 ohm amp) I replaced the included speakers with a set of Polk Audio Signature S-20 speakers, a set of Polk S-10's on top of the 20's and an old Infinity BU-1 8" sub to run at 4 ohms total. Yes, it sounds so much better and near audiophile quality. I can now stream from SiriusXM via phone and listen to the thousands of MP3 files I have loaded on various thumbs drive (it could use a higher capacity file limit). The USB input doesn't like NTFS, FAT 16 and 32 only and I've noticed it displays file error when attempting to read other file formats than MP3. It will NOT read FLAC or other lossless formats. Maybe some firmware update may change that but I don't see it in the future. Overall, for the price and features it works great. It's no NAIM, McIntosh, or other high dollar system but for the price and size it works great. Now to enjoy the full sound with the Polk's. I hope to get another 20 years from this system. Yes the cables and plugs are total overkill but why not! Also, get yourself a good retractable antenna here on Amazon. They're cheap! ... show more

  • Quality worth the price.
Just got it a couple of days ago but I'm very impressed with the sound. It only plays, however, certain types of flash drives. But it isn't a deal breaker. The radio reception is very clear and it's construction is solid. The CD player is top notch. After all, it's Panasonic and you wouldn't expect less. ... show more
