This Base Wave Music System IV with CD player from BOSE is fantastic. I bought this music system for my birthday present and one of the best I ever have. The sound on this system is out of this world. It is clear, you can hear very well all the instruments, acoustic sound as well even the words of the songs. I am impress with the quality and one of the best music system you can find. All in one piece beside that. Easy to set up. Takes very little place anywhere in the house. It feels like I'm at a concert in my house. I love it. The "boom box" that i have is going to charity! You can enjoy the radio also and hours of CD music. LOVE IT! I've had a Bose Wave Radio III for 20 years. While the radio function was still working very well, the CD function was showing its age -- skipping tracks or getting "stuck" on a track, so I decided it was time to upgrade. I checked out the information on the new model IV. It met my requirements and showed me the newest features: front-loading CD player, redesigned remote control, and a touch location on the case top to turn on/off the unit. Set-up was easy and the sound quality is excellent. There is also a connection for an external dipole antenna to help capture a cleaner AM or FM signal during inclement weather.     • A Comprehensive Review for the Prospective Buyer
The Bose Wave Music System IV lives up to its hype. It is a wonderful audio component that plays good quality FM and CD music from an easy-to-use, compact component that requires minimal setup. It's weaknesses: (1) the unit comes without an external FM antenna. A cheap dipole antenna is sold as an option for around $10. Be sure to get the one with a 1/8 inch (3 mm) plug. Most FM dipole antennas sold on the internet come with an "F-type male" or coaxial end that will require the purchase of a 3.5mm or 1/8" Male to F Type Female Coaxial Adapter to work with the Bose IV. (2) The AM antenna supplied is cheap and does a poor job of pulling in AM stations with any clarity. I'm not an AM radio buff, so this was not a deterrent to me. (3) The Bose Wave Music System 1V does NOT have Bluetooth or WiFi. To add Bluetooth capability, one must purchase and connect a Bluetooth adapter to the unit. Bose offers two different Bluetooth adapters: the Bose 727012-1300 Bluetooth Audio Adapter ($59.99) and the Bose Wave Bluetooth Music Adapter ($99). The Bose 727012-1300 Bluetooth Audio Adapter connects to the Bose unit through a 3.5mm/0.25 inch cable plugged into the "AUX" input on the back of the unit. The Bluetooth unit must also be plugged in to a power outlet. The Bose Wave Bluetooth Music Adapter comes with a cable end that can only be plugged into a limited number of Bose Wave models. According to Bose's product description, this bluetooth adapter is only "compatible with Wave music system III and Wave radio III. Also works with Acoustic Wave music system II, Wave radio II and Wave music system purchased since 2010". I personally found this to be very confusing. My Bose System !V is not specifically listed, but was "purchased since 2010", so would it work with my system? I'll never know because the Bose Wave Bluetooth Music Adapter costs twice as much and doesn't say anything in its literature that justifies the price difference. If someone out there takes the time to investigate this, please let me know your findings. I will pay more for the Bose Wave Bluetooth Music Adapter if enhanced features merit the price difference.
