The packaging was clean secure and appealing. I was nervous at first with it being such a light purple paste, but boy did it surprise me! It goes on just like regular toothpaste, no weird gel like feeling, pleasant taste, has other hygiene benefits, didn’t hurt my sensitive teeth or gums AT ALL! Normally whitening pastes cause me pain but this one did not! It actually felt good refreshing and relieving. After one use, I definitely see results. My teeth are definitely whiter since using this and it definitely helped my gum pain. DEFINITELY worth the money!! Use consistently, I’ll be buying more. This toothpaste is fine, it’s about the same as any other whitening toothpaste, except it’s purple so that’s fun and fresh. I know purple shampoo works great on blonde hair, so I thought maybe purple toothpaste would work great on teeth. But unfortunately it’s the same as any other toothpaste. Nothing to write home about. It gets my teeth clean, but didn’t make my teeth any whiter (however I usually use non-purple Colgate optic white toothpaste, so I didn’t expect to see a huge difference in teeth whitening). This toothpaste has a weak mint flavor, it’s not a strong mint at all. After I brush my teeth, my breath doesn’t smell minty. But it doesn’t smell bad either. Another weird thing about this toothpaste is that it gets weirdly sticky when it gets dried out on the toothpaste tube. You can see it in the pictures. It’s not really an issue, but it’s notable. Overall this toothpaste is just average, nothing special. I probably won’t buy it again just because it’s not very minty. I’ll stick to the purple shampoo, not the purple toothpaste. ... show more

    • Whiter teeth but a sore mouth and tongue

So I have been using a variety of different Colgate Optic White toothpastes for several years. As per usual, some work better on my teeth than others but all give decent results. This particular "purple" version does an outstanding job on whitening my teeth and is the best Colgate whitening toothpaste that I have ever used. ..... but... That being said, after i used it the first time the inside of my mouth, my tongue and lips felt a little sore as if something had burned them slightly. Unfortunately, every time I use this toothpaste and see the beautiful white results, within a few minutes the burning begins and I am convinced that there is something either corrosive or caustic among the ingredients that while highly effective at whitening teeth are also burning and hurtng the inside of my mouth and my tongue. My tongue also turns purple and stays that way for quite a while. Not a good look . . . . . So maybe I am sensitive to the ingredients and I cannot tolerate it, which is my theory because I have not seen anyone else make note of burning in their mouth as part of their review of this product. I am now going to go back to the non-purple Optic White version and hopefully, all will be well. As I stated above, this provides a very fast and effective whitening of my teeth and it is pretty impressive. Hopefully all of you who try this out will not have the problems I have had. I like this toothpaste. It tastes like peppermint and is a purple color paste. It helps make teeth whiter and removes coffee stains. Does not make your teeth sensitive either. I will continue to buy this. I’m happy with the product.

I have gray hair and I know that purple shampoo works for me from here that my yellow and I thought what the hay let’s see what this does. It wasn’t instant, but with use I have definitely seen that. The yellow on my teeth has diminished and it keeps it under control. Definitely worth for a try.

I grew up on Crest Toothpaste and recently converted to Colgate. The whitening works and this new Purple color was a must try! The color is more of a blueish purple and the taste is true to refreshing mint. I think I see a difference and enjoy using it mostly bc purple is my favorite color 💜 too!
