This is our favorite tea kettle that we've tried so far. Easy to clean: It has a wide mouth that you can fit your hand inside easily for cleaning. Vinegar and water works really well removing any water stains/buildup if done on regular basis. The interior of the kettle is all glass with the exception of the metal heating plate and the plastic lid. Plastic handle is quite sturdy for easy grip. The mesh/plastic filter pops off for you to clean that as well. FYI: The filter screen rarely lasts as long as the lifespan of the kettle. Once you see any signs of damage, remove it and throw it away. Otherwise once it is compromised, the mesh filter degrades/erodes really fast (and you will notice tiny flecks of it in the water). So just ditch it once you see an signs of tearing/damage. The glass DOES get hot. So be mindful of where you place it if you have small children. Excess cord can be neatly wound around the underside of power base. The kettle lights up when you press the power button located on handle, and the light goes off when it's done boiling. Makes it super easy to know when it's on or off. The unit comes with a replacement warranty of 2 years. I have utilized the warranty and the process was easy. My last unit died within 6 mos of purchase (wouldn't power on). As of Sept 2023...To qualify for replacement you need to: #1 do NOT throw the kettle or base out until you get the replacement unit or part in your hands. Go to the Ovente website and click on "contact us" then select "warranty claim" under the How Can We Help tab. Fill out the form and attach copy of receipt. Wait for response with instructions. In my case, the unit just died for no reason/wouldn't power on, so they responded asking me to provide the following via email: 1. A picture showing the 4-digit code located on the silver sticker attached to the bottom of the kettle or base; 2. A picture and/or short video clip (less than 20MB file size) showing the issue/problem; 3. Your mailing address They then reviewed the claim and in a few days emailed back with: We have received instruction from our supervisor that we don't need the item back. All we ask is that you cut the cord at the very end of its cord close to the plug of the rubber stopper. Once cut, kindly send us a picture so we can process the replacement as soon as possible. (whew! Good thing I didn't assume it was safe to throw it away!). I submitted the Pic of the cord cut... And received my replacement kettle about a week later week/free shipping. I just got it. It arrived on a Sunday just 2 days after I ordered it. It works just like they said it would. I did wish it out the first time before I used it because it said to do so. Over night I worked it inside with 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water. The next day at minimum level of water I plugged it in and in less than 3 minutes it was at a roaring boil and it turned itself off. It worked the same today. If it lasts a long time I made a good purchase. This vendor sold it the most economical. It is beautiful when it is heating because of the blue lights. I ordered a black color so as it ages black always looks better than lighter colors or white. If this thing lasts me 2 years or more I will be happy. I only warm up enough in mornings for a good hot cup of Pero. I have always only used these hot water pots for warming up water, never for putting or mixing things heated up in them. My last hat water pot this is replacing lasted me 7 years. It was a Rival brand but they don't make them anymore. I hope this one lasts me for a long time. I bought mu Rival one on Amazon also, but they don't sell it anywhere anymore. The Rival one was made in America. This one like almost all of them now are made in China. We are always at the mercy of China for almost everything now. I wonder how we can afford anything since everything is made in China now? ... show more

I bought this for my office. It works great and two co-workers have already come in to use it as well. I wanted one that was glass and budget friendly. This one works perfectly for my needs. I may need to get one for home now too! I like that it comes in different colors too, but I got the white one because I thought it looked pretty with the blue lights. It also was the cheapest one at the time I ordered. Not sure why they charge different prices for different colors?? ... show more

My old water boiler was 20 years old (how it survived that long, I don't know), so when I bought this, I really was hesitant to get rid of old faithful. But this has been great. I love the illumination that comes when it is heating up. This tells me it's heating... and then when it stops, I have hot water and the lights go off. The heat is retained, so if I expect to need more again soon after, I can just boil extra and then use more later. I was doubtful. I bought because its the 21st century n gas stove top kettles are well a thing from the previous centuries…lol I like this very much. I use it for tea, oatmeal and instant hot cocoas n coffees , expressos. Boils very quickly the auto shut off is awesome. The light is a great indicator of it being on. Does not take up too much counter space. Gkad I took the suggested ‘buy the glass carafe’ so you can see the mineral deposits n the cleanliness. I took the advice on here from other buyers to leave the lid open after use so as not to hold the heat in unnecessarily. I bought a black one to for young friend, she loves it! ... show more

My old cuisinart finally died and it's no longer made, so I looked for a replacement. This one is far less expensive than any of the cuisinart models. And it works just as good. I've been using it for a week and am very pleased with it. Heats up very fast. I like the blue light while it's running. Helps me know when it is complete.
