We use it pretty much every day (unplug it when not in use) and so I came right back to buy another. I went with green this time (last one was black) and it's a very cheery colour. It came today & we've already used it twice. It heats water quickly, pours without spillage, doesn't take up a lot of counter space and perfectly suits our needs for an electric water kettle. So I realized that being such a huge fan of this product, I owe it a five star review. I am an obsessive tea drinker. I love tea. I drink it all day long. At home, I either pour my filtered Brita water into the kettle and boil, or sometimes I use a rented water dispenser with 5 gallon jugs (but that’s increasingly pricy and I am increasingly dependent on this product). I also have one at my parents’ house, boyfriend’s parents’ house, and boyfriend’s house. If I stay the weekend anywhere, I usually bring it. It makes it very easy to make tea for myself wherever. I love the auto shut off safety feature, and find the cool blue light and boiling noise soothing. The only issue I ever had is one time the filter on the spout tore, but otherwise all my kettles are still going strong and in good condition. As long ovente keeps quality to what it is and price doesn’t go crazy, this will always be my go to electric kettle. Loveee it! ... show more

It's a great kettle. I bought one a bit over 2 years ago and just started acting up. It has to be positioned right, or it didn't make contact. I guess I could have cleaned the contacts, but figured it has served me well for a long while. Figure 4 uses per day minimum at 2 cups each for approximately 740 days or 5920 cups of tea or coffee at a retail cost of $21 ....$0.0035 per cup ... not bad. As it boils quickly, electric use is minimal. Oh, and it's rather handsome unit with the glass pot lit by the blue light ... no downside. ... show more

This is our second one. Our first version was black. We used our first one for well over a year with no problems. We only got rid of it as we were moving and it was cheap enough to just replace rather than taking up space in a move. We've had our new one a month and just as great as the first. I ordered my first one in 2018 and it lasted until Apr 2021. I was happy with it and it was cost effective as much as I use hot water during the day. Bought pot #2. That one just quit today. So I ordered #3 because I really love this boiler. Color, you can eyeball it's progress with a glass kettle, ease of use, safety. Now having read the post above that it could just be a rusted connection in the base - I'll take it to my son's shop and ask them to take it apart to see. They do a ton of electrical work there. But it breaks down like this $20 for kettle that I used for 18 months 3-4 times a day = $.01 per each use. That's for the one lasting 18 months. While I would pay more for one without built a in failure rate, how do you find out? ... show more

Love this tea pot. Boils relatively quick. Shuts it's self off after boiling. The cool touch handle is great, and the light while it gets boiling is a nice touch. I cleaned it once with a vinegar/ water combo ( I have hard water even after filtering) would definitely recommend

We use this kettle multiple times daily. It’s fairly quick to boil, has auto shutoff, and comes in white (to match my kitchen). After 6-7 months of regular use, it simply failed to power on one morning. Ovente customer service responded same day to my warranty claim and had fully processed my claim by the following day. I like that this turns of quietly. Prior I used a whistle kettle on a gas stove. It was great but still boiled down if I got busy elsewhere in the house. That was concerning, this was a solution.. Interestingly enough this boils faster and is quite hot.. I like the blue light is on when it is actively heating and shuts off when it's done.. I may purchase another for a gift.. ... show more
