I've been looking for an electric teapot at a good price for awhile now--tax included, it cost $17.28. Boiling water on the electric stovetop heats up the kitchen--and the microwave either takes too long to be sure it's boiling, or I wait too long and it's boiling over the top. I swear I almost exploded a teabag this summer. This was not only a really good price, it's attractive on the counter--nice clean lines. When you turn it on, the water looks blue through the window, and you can see the bubbles start in just a minute or so--then it shuts itself off after the water has started to boil; you can tell from across the room because the water in the window is no longer lit up. So far, it has worked fine, even though it was in a box with another item, without any packing material and after traveling for five days, still didn't make it to my door. It's got a heavy-duty cord and the pot easily sits on the heating plate. (Maximum amount of water it'll boil is a little over 7 cups or 1 3/4 quarts.) I like how good-looking this product is. I also like how easy it is to use. You just fill it with water, plug it in to the wall, and flip the switch at the top. And it boils the water. The interior light is a little bit soft. Like I wish it were a little brighter. And I wish there were a light on the little on off switch at the top. But that's just me being picky. This thing works so well that those little changes I would make wouldn't prevent me from buying it the way it is. The on/off switch flips off automatically so as not to keep heating the water. When it reached optimal temp, it stops. perfectly. it boils just enough water for my French Press, and with some to spare. ... show more

This economically priced water heater has integrated all the needed and important features into one piece. The inner screen filter keeps the tea residues out of pouring water, the water outlet beak design is the best of all water heaters ! Because of its extension length and shape, that makes the water pouring an easy task, in comparison to many "small beak" which looks neat but makes the water pouring lost guidance in direction and amount. Also the hot vapour during pouring hot water, will not go up to burn your hand and finger ! ... In all, it's a beautifully shaped water heater, with all the needed shape and functions considered and designed into the water heater --- at the lowest price among the listed water heaters on Amazon. This kettle is just what I needed to heat water up rapidly to make pitchers of tea or instant cereal. I like the windows so I can peak at the water so I can estimate the temperature of the water. Like that it also has an auto shut off after a length of time, especially helpful on the times I get sidetracked by other tasks. Highly recommend this kettle. Super Easy to clean. The low profile kettle is lower than most 1.7 liter as well relatively light weight compared to other 1.7 liter once I had in the past. Fits easily under the standard filtered bar type water dispenser which is an advantage. The heat takes a notch longer due to heating element being only 900W to 1100W and not 1200W, however the safety shutoff works perfectly 25 seconds from start boiling and I don’t have to wait for 2 to 3 minutes boiling unnecessarily as I had previously. Outside heat is acceptable or at least not burning fingers like on a Glass or Stainless Steel. Have no way to test so must assume is “BPA Free” as shown in one of the pictures and under “Special Features”. ... show more

This thing is cheap we'll just get the elephant out of the room. However, it's extremely light weight, works like a charm, and travels extremely well. I needed an extra one for my kid to haul back and forth and didn't really want to spend $30/40 for a glass and stainless one that may get broken during trips. This thing is PERFECT! Highly suggest for cabins, campers, dorms, hotel rooms etc. Couple months of pretty steady use and no issues so in my opinion it's more than paid for itself. ... show more
