This is my second awning from Outsunny, the first one had has lasted 5 years before the frabic on the awning started to fray and get holes. The instructions are OK just a bit difficult to understand, I am an engineer and I was scratching my head sometimes. Some of the parts were bent needing work to get them straightened out so I could install them, good thing I have prior sheetmetal bending experience so was able to fix issues and assemble. The screw holes had alot if paint in them so I had to use a tap to chase the threads to clean them up. I couldn't even start some of the screws due to the paint. In the instructions it shows to install 4 screws in the tube and the square bar when its actually 8, 4 on each side. Be on the lookout for slilvers of metal on the ends of the tubes you could cut yourself accidentally. Some of the parts are inside of the large pieces of tubing. The end caps need to have some of the paint removed (I used a file) on the edge to get them to start sliding onto the square bar then need to use a hammer to drive them the rest of the way I still havent installed on my deck but that part is pretty straight forward. I would reccomend but having a mechanically inclined person do the build would help.

This is a great product. It installed and worked exactly as advertised. Please note that this is a complicated piece of hardware that comes with many pieces and parts. If you are impatient, you probably should have a professional install a system for 10 times the cost. You have to slow down, carefully read the instructions, get a helper, and slowly install this. The main assembly comes in 2 halves that must be carefully coupled together with the included couplers (hidden inside the 3 tubes). I spent about 3 hours getting this built and installed into place. The directions are simple but easy to understand. There are lots of good pictures. The wording is not always good english but they are clear. The hardware included concrete bolts for connecting to brick but nothing for connecting to a timber house. I bought 4 heavy timberlock screws that worked great. Once installed, carefully read the learning instructions for the remote controller - it will save you some angst. The remote will not work until it is synced and adjusted for your awning. I am very pleased with this product and the shade that it provides.

I’ve had this up for a week. It was tough for a 1 man job and the instructions are horrible. There’s a video on YouTube and this old man does it on his own and that helped a lot. It doesn’t follow the same instructions and are way better. My concern is as you see in the picture, it looks like the cord is burning?! That is the cord from the motor and I can’t get through customer service. At this point, I’m worried about it burning down my deck.

While threading the canopy into the metal roller be very careful not to catch the metal on the stitching in the canopy. You will need to really pay attention to the pictures in the instructions. It took me about six hours and I had to have two people for some reason, my remote is not working, but I don’t care. This thing is really beautiful! It’s very smooth and it works perfectly. I literally couldn’t be happier! Great price! High-quality! You will need Allan tools, ratchet, pliers, and a rubber mallet.

Installing the awning is a lot of work but it is worth it. Unfortunately, I broke the first awning on attempting to set the Close limit. Got a replacement for no-cost and was very careful on attempting to set the Close limit this time, but could not figure out how to do it. That is a real problem, because you can damage the awning by using the remote to close it. You have to hit stop before it goes too far and binds up at the top. The ability to use the motor and remote for opening (which works fine) and closing the awning would be a great feature if you could set a hard Close limit. From the instructions, I can't figure out how to do it and attempts to get Aosom Customer Support to help me have not helped. Hasn't anyone run into this problem? Has anyone found out how to effectively set the Close limit so the awning stops before retracting too far?

I almost didn’t purchase due to complaints about instructions and quality but I went out on a whim and got it. I am glad I did, this product was absolutely above my expectations. I installed this totally by myself, although I could’ve used help. Easy to install, no damaged or missing items, seems well above average for quality, electric motor runs great with remote(remote is also magnetic and comes with double stick for the wall mount), the brackets were very heavy duty(I show one of the three main brackets in review pics), awning goes in and out easily(I couldn’t imagine having to hand crank them every time due to the gear ratio it takes forever). **note** unless you are installing into brick or concrete walls, you will need to get wood lag bolts and find your studs prior to bracket install** I purchased six, 3/8 - 3 inch galvanized bolts and six galvanized washers at my local tractor supply for only a couple dollars(shown in pics). Overall a great product! Very pleased.

We decided on this product after reading other consumers' reviews. But we were looking for something we could afford. We had our problems, like the screws to fix it are made of concrete and our house is made of wood. The instructions are extremely confusing for 50% of the time, the motor part is a pain, but we put it together and are using it. It solves our needs. My husband and I installed it. It took us more than 8 hours. But without much money and with determination we now have shade on the terrace.
