I noticed a lot of reviews mentioning quality and installation, so I wanted to share my experience. First, installation is definitely not a one-person job, especially for someone new to this type of project. It can be a bit challenging, but manageable with help and patience. The first assembly took about 3 hours, the second awning we assembled took 1 hour. This is all just a little common sense. That being said, the quality for the price is outstanding. The fabric is top-notch and something you'd normally only get from companies charging a premium. Most other options at this price point use basic vinyl. What really sets this company apart, though, is their customer service. It's hands-down the best part of the experience. They're incredibly responsive, understanding, and genuinely care about their customers. That kind of support is rare these days and makes a huge difference.

This is the worst product you can ever purchase. You will have to understand how an awning goes together, or possibly have some type of engineering degree, to put this awning together. The instructions, first off, were horrible. It does not go into detail on how much adjusting you would have to do or what you have to tighten, or where pieces are supposed to be installed for optimal functionality. When I first got the package, we opened it up and I began to notice some dents on metal pieces that caused the installation to be a lot of work. Some pieces did not match properly with the holes and creating a longer process. I had to request another box so I could use pieces from the other box to put this one together. It took me approximately 8 hours total to just put the awning together. Then, when I began to install the awning onto my home, it took me approximately 4 1/2 hours to just install it. Some pieces needed to be adjusted that were never given in the instructions. After placing the awning up and plugging it in, it looked amazing, but there were so many issues afterwards that it was not even worth the money that was spent on buying it. Some pieces caused issues where the arms would not sit underneath the awning piece, and there were some pieces that, even when they were loose, tightened up and created issues for the awning to open. Customer service was very helpful because they understood my concern and addressed the matter, but the company as a whole needs to do a lot better. They need to update their manual and maybe have some people who are willing to install the product for them for an extra fee. If that was an option, I would have gladly paid to have it installed instead of doing it. In all actuality, I would not purchase anything from this company because I believe that they do not care about making things easy or having products delivered without damage. If someone were truly concerned about their product being delivered with damages, they would address it with the company they pay to deliver their products. This way, it does not affect them and their sales. Customer service was the only thing I would give 5 stars on; other than that, this product can go in the trash.

I bought the 16 foot version, which requires three segments. I'm pretty handy, but found this to be difficult to put together. The first hard step is sliding the awning into the groove on the center rod. While I was sliding it on, it got caught where the rods join, and ripped the fabric. I though I blew it at that point, but was able to repair with duck tape, and the fabric works perfectly, and you a can't tell there was ever a problem. One of the nuts to secure the segment braces was not tapped - there were no threads. Luckily I have a tap set and was able to thread it myself and it worked fine after that. There are 3 supports to hold the top cover in place - the middle support piece cannot be put on without taking the segments apart - it seems like a flaw in the design. It was a pain, mainly due to trying to decipher the instructions, but we did get everything together. Once it was installed (took 4 people), I had to loosen the outer support anchor so the arms could be pushed in all the way when the awning is closed - sounds easy, but part of my awning was 12 feet off the ground. The next issue I ran into was with the end stop limits. The inner stop (the stop when closing the awning) wasn't setup so the motor was overheating when closing the awning. This caused the motor to stop working for about 20 minutes (I thought it was defective). it eventually stopped working again, and after some trial and error, I was able to get the limits set up for opening and closing. It now functions perfectly and looks great, but this was probably the hardest backyard project I've ever done. I think a shorter version wouldn't be so bad, but the 16.5 foot version is a beast.

Pretty good value for the money but understand you get what you pay for. We have had our installation up for one day so we'll see how it works out long term but for the money we spent we are happy. Pros - very affordable electric awning 16.5' x 10' model, fast shipping and reasonable installation. Cons - instructions are not the best but doable, just plan to spend a lot of time accounting for every part up front and read the assembly manual a few times before assembling, it will pay off taking your time and not getting in a rush but for the price its really worth the product. The materials got a little banged up in shipping but nothing I could not bend back in shape. The materials are not super durable but for the price just make sure you only the the awning extended when in use and you can retract it if winds start to get stronger. Overall we saved a fortune, the awning looks awesome and we have really nice coverage adding enhanced outdoor living space.
