This little heater really heats up the area even if its 90+ degrees outside. The unit is stable when seated on a level surface. I used a 20lb tank for hook up and the line trailing out back made it even more secure. The lighting process was a breeze with the included igniter. You insert the igniter through a port in the dish (pic. #6) while depressing the red button (pic. #4) which allows the gas to pass though. It acts like a furnace thermostat pilot light. The controls are solid and when turning the dial there is a loud click so you know when the change happens. Once lite, you can immediately feel the heat. Even on low with me standing 4 feet away outside in 95 degrees sun I could feel it. Also, you can see the difference when it is lite or not (pic. #2 & #8). Once again this is a very nice unit for outdoors, and knowing it uses propane can be used in an emergency. Very Fast Shipping ... show more

    • Fantastic heater/cooker combo!
This heater is super high quality and is made out of solid and durable materials. It includes a cool lighter, and only requires minor assembly which is putting on the cooking grate / heat shield piece. While it puts out nice heat, I didn't test and don't know if the cooker mode would be as efficient as a dedicated camping cooktop. I don't know how to test the "automatic low oxygem safety shut off system", but assuming they mean oxygen, I don't suggest using this in an enclosed space in any case. It also boasts a "Automatic Safety Shut-Off Valve", but considering this can be used in a cooking configuration, I am not sure it has any tipping based protection. When using the larger propane tank adapter hose, this unit is very prone to tipping as the hose is pretty stiff. In the end, I give it a solid 4/5 stars. It works great and is made well. I just think they should specify if it has tipping protection and how the low oxygen shutoff works if they are going to mention them. ... show more

Assembly is straight forward and easy. The hose is conveniently long which gives you the freedom of moving the heater or the propane tank around. It seems to be well made and I am happy with the overall quality. I got this to mainly use on my outdoor deck in the colder weather. I tested it out and this does throw a sufficient amount of heat. I'm very happy with the output even when it set on medium. I love the fact that I can throw this in my Jeep and take it anywhere. ... show more

To my surprise, this heater puts out A good amount of heat. Has high, med, low, and off settings. Can be used with A little Coleman tank, or A bigger propane grill tank with the hose hooked up. The usb ignitor works good too.

This heater is awesome for colder nights. I love it that it hooks up to my BBQ propane tank - after prepping the meal, I unhook the BBQ and hook the heater. In the area where we live, you do need a heater at night in late August, but it is still so lovely outside that you don't want to eat in the house. So this heater is perfect. We do have a patio tent, which keeps the heat in, and I only need to keep it on for about 5-10 minutes. Heats up immediately and works great, very easy to use, highly recommend. ... show more

The only issue was getting the hose onto the heater. It was frustrating and could prove a little difficult for some to install. If the heater/burner already shipped with the hose attached it would easily be 5 stars!! I tested on medium heat and then high heat and you could truly feel the heat at 6' away on medium, but on high heat it was felt 12' away, outside on a cool evening while we were sitting at a table eating dinner. We tested it for about 45 minutes with no issues. The instructions were easy to understand. I did not test it as a cooking burner, but the heat is there. ... show more
