I don’t know how this is still available to purchase!? Almost left me stranded because it was defective and broken. Horrible. I know I’m going to say stay away from it. The pricing is pretty enticing, but honestly, I would stay away from this one not a good deal at all.

This review will be a bit different. I have 5 sons my 5 adult sons like to pick on me. My oldest being the ring leader of the pick on mom fan club. We go to breakfast with our oldest and his beautiful family every Sunday. He enjoys messing with me or my car. One day he took my gas cap jumped in his car and drove away. We followed and it turned into a game of cat and mouse. I lost him and gave up. When I returned home I spotted my gas cap in the rain gutter just above the driveway. These boys are just so ornery I don't know who raised them. I blame their father. The gas cap turned into a weekly thing so I started taking it off and locking it in the car on Sundays when I could remember. Of course I forget some times, but my grand kids who love the new game never did. I told my son I was getting a locking gas cap. Now he is a mechanic and said it wouldn't stop him. So I purchased this one. Unfortunately every time I went to get gas in the winter I would curse him because I would forget to grab the key. It is a good gas cap it will keep your son from stealing it causing you to chase him, but it will also drive you mad if you forget you have a locking gas cap when you go to get fuel in the dead of winter. It has made for some fun memories so while it's inexpensive and will protect your fuel it could be priceless to you too. ... show more

Apparently I forgot to put my cap back on and the "Tighten Fuel Cap" warning displayed. At 1st I thought this item wasn't a correct fit. As the check engine light and "check emission system" displayed after I had put this cap on. Checked the cap several times, it was a loose fit. I could wiggle it around a bit. Thought I had tried pushing in and tightening with same result, still a loose fit. When I refilled last night, I was able to push in on the cap as I turned to tighten and voila, it snugged down and stayed with no play/wiggle. The check engine light was not present upon restarting and as I continued to drive. Checked the cap again, ( only a few miles later as I had reached home ) to see if it may have lossened again from vibration. It hadn't. So if you order one of these just keep in mind to push with more than regular force to get it to seat properly. Also is easier to unlock after 2 or 3 times of opening as it took 2 hands 1st few times. One to hold the cap and other turning the key to full unlocked position. The media could not be loaded. The instructions to unlock are incorrect, but if you don't follow them, it works great! 😄🤦♀️And yes I know the compartment is dirty. 😬 Attached video of how to actually unlock it, they key can come out at some point but I was done fiddling with it. It's a great idea to have the instructions on the cap, but they have to be correct to be helpful. ... show more
