The first one I received quit working in a week and a replacement was sent. The remote takes a watch battery which isn't included. This item is made to hang by the ceiling, but the electric cord is too short to reach from a ceiling to a baseboard outlet without an extension cord, but the instructions state that the unit cannot be used with an extension cord, so it requires the installation of a ceiling electrical outlet. The instructions that came with the unit were vague, as was the online catalog and videos. It's OK and it does provide some heat on my porch, but it is a bit of trouble to get it installed.

I placed this in my gazebo area and it is wonderful to have heat in the cool evenings or on cold days when you want to be outside. You can shed the large coats and get warmed up with this excellent heater.

The on/off switch became nonfunctional after 20 cycles. Online and emails sent requesting replacement part or entire unit. No response.

So far I like the heater and it works well. The remote control doesn't come with a battery in it, and there is no information in the instructions which tells you to buy and install a battery. I learned this after contacting the seller. So now I have to figure out how to open the remote and what battery to install for the remote to work. I've never received an item without a battery in the remote before.
