Is this bench as sturdy as the flat, inclined, or declined benches at the gym? …nope. Is the bench sturdy enough for a 6’1” 270 lb. guy to do (flat, inclined, declined) bench presses, chest-flys, and “inclined” sit-ups in his basement? And curls and 45-ext? …yep. - It arrived disassembled. Assembly took a fair while (45-60 minutes), but wasn’t too challenging. - It’s consumer grade, but rather hefty and sturdy to other consumer grade benches I have. - I’m 6’1, so the bench height is good for me. High enough to be comfortable, yet I can still place my shoes flat on the floor. - Seat width feels wide and supported enough on the back. And the bench feels and sturdy enough to avoid tipping. - The bench length is plenty long for me, as my head tends to hang a little off the top in the flat position on most. But this one has plenty of length for my head. Summarily, this bench is heftier, wider, and longer than my other consumer benches. - No 90 deg. upright, but ~60 deg. is good enough for my uses. - The 45 Extension/Curl/Preacher platform is a nice addition. My only improvement wish on this though is that I wish the screw pin was easier to insert/remove, like a pull pin. Installing, adjusting, removing the platform with that screw pin is a bit tedious. - No fold up option for storage, but I don’t necessarily need it to be.

The only two cons I have about this is the handle. The way the instructions advise I needed up not making sure the handle was on a certain side of the post. It did not specify but once you fold it down to carry you realize it’s wrong. I have to eventually remove a bolt to correct this. It was 50/50 I ended with the wrong 50 percent chance. They could have welded a handle into that area would have made it sturdier and easy to carry. It’s so light anyway the handle is pointless. Well just writing this I came up with another con. The pins to secure it in place so it doesn’t unfold they are not place properly for the closed position. For use position they are fine but for the closed position only one pin seems to be in a good spot the other two pin’s seem pointless.
