  • Not worth the money ... would return if I could.
Just put this together. If we had had another option, we would have returned this item. 1. Upon opening the box, the first 2 pieces that had wire on them both had broken pieces. These broken areas consisted of one or 2 wires that had broken away in the middle of the screen and covered a couple of inches. It took a little bit of time to twist and cut these wires so that they would not hurt our rabbit. We were not happy about this, but, again, we did not have a choice as we were out of time after a 3-day drive to our new house with our animals in tow. 2. The pull-out drawer did not meet at the corners and pulled apart as soon as it was taken out of the box. I will have to do some work on the middle support piece of the tray to shorten it as there is no way to fully fix the drawer without shortening it because it was miss cut and the back crossbar "rocks" on it. 3. The "rails" that the drawer sits on are (were) attached by flimsy, thin nails. As soon as the rabbit had put his weight on the entrance side, the rail folded down---did not drop the rabbit --- but folded down. I had to take the hutch apart enough to be able to screw these into place. I will have to replace them as soon as possible just to keep the animal safe. 4. Even though we were very careful to keep everything "squared up" and even when it came time to put on the final wired piece, it was off by so much that the latch could not be used. Not a huge deal for a rabbit, but a big one for anyone with animals that might be able to knock things and wiggle out. Overall, nice design, but so cheaply made that I don't expect it to last even a year. We have had it put together and in use for 2 days now and the legs are already stained and show signs of water damage. The wood may be real, but it is very soft and will not hold up to much of anything...including the screws. If I fell into that cage, the screws outcome right out of the wood in many places because the wood just isn't strong enough to hold them in. Very disappointed. I wish it could be returned, but that is not an option. We will be building our own next time. ... show more

  • Great looking coop
Very well organized kit. Included an extra of each screw. The kit was easy to put together and was well designed.

  • You Get What You Pay For…. You Get What You Pay For….
It’s not versatile. The weight actually gives that away, it is very light weight for a chicken coop of this size. It’s made of FIR WOOD. Easier than most furniture I had to assemble due to the soft wood it is made from, FIR IS NOT THE STRONGEST NOT THE STURDIEST wood to build coops with given that chickens move around a great deal while cooped up while they’re inside. It is smaller than the pictures make it out to be - I was very disappointed in the whole experience. They didn’t include enough of the right sized screws, the instructions were pictures, NO WORDS AT ALL. Very poorly explained as to which set of screws went into which part. Lastly, the description says there is both a NESTING BOX AND A RESTING BOX - that there is asphalt on the ramp, as well as over the “run” - the run is more like a walk. There is no way to keep chickens DRY during a rainstorm because that infamous asphalt roofing they brag about covers only the housing portion of the coop. There are NO PERCHES/ROOSTS FOR them to SLEEP ON. It is simply an enclosed 3x3 top portion that will house 1-2 chickens at best. The bottom under the house is okay, for fresh air, but try to fit 5 young (14 weeks old) chickens in there - it won’t work. And on top of all that, the ramp is too small. I spent 3 hours putting this together. I promised them a house by this week. And now the thought of taking it apart and sending it back for a refund seems insurmountable- I am a senior citizen and unable to do much - the miracle of putting it together was greatly diminished with the realization that it won’t fit my needs, it doesn’t have all the parts I need to put it together- and it won’t serve the purpose of keeping them warm and dry in the rainy season coming next month. So, I frankly don’t know what to do here. I don’t usually have problems with items I purchase on Amazon - but out of all the items purchased on Amazon over the years, THIS CHICKEN COOP WAS - IS - by FAR, the worst experience yet. I won’t be buying any more products from this company ever again. have more than one chicken, and this coop will only house one chicken and maybe a few pips - but that’s all. You don’t want to have it so crowded in there that they start fighting over food. Amazon, I love hou, but this vendor needs a reprimand.for misleading information on their Amazon site. It makes Amazon look bad. Also, couldn’t find their web page to handle it directly. No phone number. Nothing. Suspicious. No way to correct this problem. Disappointed with my purchase is putting it mildly. My poor chickens will have to wait longer to get their place to sleep safely and stay dry and warm. I want to cry. Christina Hope ... show more

  • Useless and fragile. Do not put it outdoors!
This thing is a piece of crap! I'm so frustrated, I feel like it came from temu. From the moment I put my chicken in there it began falling apart!!!!! That's a lot of money to have it failing in the first 5 minutes! The wood is too fragile for adult birds. It's better suited for hatchlings, like a brooder but it needs a bottom to be used like that. Bottom line, I would not recommend it to anyone. I went to Lowe's and bought supplies to build a coop from scratch because this thing is useless to me! 1 star is because it's cute. 2nd star is because it arrived on time. ... show more

  • Not suitable for more than 3 chickens, for rabbits you have to add wire to the bottom.
The reviews helped me not be disappointed, because I expected it to be damaged and flimsy. Which it was. Despite that, its very cute. There is some damage, the wire is bent, but visually its great and my rabbit will like it. I think it was worth the money despite the flaws. It doesnt have wire on the bottom however, so if you intend to use it for rabbits you must do some DIY work. If you buy it for chickens, there's enough room for 2-3 birds. Maybe more if you purchase small breeds. ... show more

  • Cheap material, very small, waste of money
Easy enough to put together for one person. That is the only pro. Here are the cons: it's made of thin pine wood. It will fall apart if you try to move it too much.. There are model ships that are better put together then this thing. It's not insulated. There are lots of holes in the house part, so it won't do well in cold weather. It is not safe against predators. Whatever is inside can't get out, but anything could force it's way inside. It's small. My chickens will out grow this coop before I even get them in there. The door that leads to the house part is a a foot wide and long. This is not made for full size chickens. With the space and size I would only recommend this for 1 rabbit. But you'll need to add a metal fence to the bottom or it'll burrow out. You're better off spending a little more money and get something solid that will last. Don't buy this for chickens you will regret it or send it back. ... show more

  • Get someone who is used to assembling coops.
Not easily assembled but then I’m a girl.

  • arrived broken, and poorly constructed arrived broken, and poorly constructed
I like the general layout of this. We are using it for bunnies. I added a section of wire mesh on the bottom to prevent them from digging out. The wood is soft, and the bunnies chewed the ramp in the space of 1 hour. One of the panels arrived broken, as well as the ramp. We decided to fix the pieces rather than return the whole thing since our old pen was broken and we didn't have time to wait for a new one. The wood slats the enclosed the hut were loose, and leave a gap of about a 1/2 inch on one side, which can not be fixed unfortunately. This will make the hut drafty in the winter. It also comes with simple wood blocks which rotate to block the doors from opening. I replaced those with durable metal latches. The pen doors can also be pushed in from the outside, so the pen is not predator proof if that is a concern- I had remedied our old pen by placing brackets across the front of the doors that overlapped the opening, and I just moved them over to this new pen. Overall, the pen looks very pretty but its just not sturdy, and I was not at all impressed that they sent one in this condition since it was clearly manufacturing defects rather than something that happened during shipping. Hopefully it will last at least a year, and by then maybe I will just make something that will last. ... show more
