I used to have a plastic rake with a wooden handle. This bad boy does circles around that one! I you power rake leaves like I do, you'll love this one. The metal pulls more leaves than plastic and leaves less behind. I'm buying a second one as I left the first one at my multifamily property located in the Midwest. I concur. The tines themselves are very strong....nowhere near the flimsy things you find at many discount stores. The unit has several sections....after you put the head on the first section of the handle and tighten the screw, you know this thing is heavy duty and just right for the job at hand.....(by the way, they give you two screws and nuts.....you only use one screw and one nut and a couple of turns of a screwdriver) Then you can put all of the sections together. They tighten by hand and once you put a reasonable amount of tightening, it feels like one piece...no wiggles. It is over 6 feet long once you put all of the sections together. I was expecting something decent because a fellow serviceman said it was military grade.....he made me a believer and for the price.....you will enjoy this tool for many, many seasons to come. The rake head is great for most yard cleanup tasks and works better than the plastic or adjustable rake tines. However, the handle is not as sturdy. The handle allows you to adjust the length rather easily, but is rather heavy. Not sure if lighter material is available. I will be replacing it with a one piece wood handle. ... show more

For the price it’s a decent rake and it gets the job done; although the only thing to mention is that the leaves bunch up in the rake and you need to pull them out by hand. Not bad overall, if you desire a cheapo rake.
