UPDATE I would give zero stars if I could. I received what looked like a refurbished power base as a replacement, without the basket! It was a different model and looked more used than my faulty unit. In response to my complaint, the seller asked for me to return the unit in exchange for a complete unit. I am reluctant because what if I got another refurbished unit? I have sent my feedback to the seller and reported to Amazon, that the replacement policy is unclear and in some ways, insincere. In the time it took me to figure this out, I could have gotten a new unit elsewhere! TOTALLY disappointed. ***************************************************** I was initially excited with the promises of this product with the different cooking modes etc. I expected higher quality finishing but was disappointed when it turned out “meh”. The edges of the plastic housing were sharp and I had to be very careful during handwashing to not hurt myself. I had to also be careful when sponging the metal basket, so it was not easy to clean properly. I use mostly the Reheat and Toast options and not every day. Occassionally, I use the manual mode (with Preheat or Sear) to cook meats and fish and sometimes (Fresh Fries) for cooking potatoes. It handles the Fried foods well (Reheat) but I was not able to get the doneness that I want when attempting meats. Usually I would overcook them because they did not brown properly and I end up with overdone meats. These were done without following the manual. I was most disappointed when mmthe fryer died on me suddenly less than a year since I got it. It just shut off and could not be powered on at all. The seller was responsive and is sending me a new replacement unit per the warranty, but to be honest, I am cautious about its quality. I was looking at other brands already, but let’s see if the replacement works out better than my first unit.

I gave this review 2 stars because the vendor was great to work with. The unit I was sent burnt up the first time I used it. I had cooked some breaded chicken in it, retrieved the pieces when the unit dinged indicating the set time had elapsed. Before taking the chicken out I had turned the unit off with the On/Off button on the top. The lights on the top of the unit went out, indicating that it was off. I left the area where the appliance was setting and sat down to eat. My daughter was the first to notice the burning smell and alerted me that the unit was on fire. It seems that some breading crumbs at the bottom of the unit had caught fire. I pulled the basket out and blew out the fire on the crumbs. I then checked the top of the unit and saw no indication that it was still on, but with the basket out, I noticed the burner unit was still on. I then unplugged the unit. After it cooled off, I tried turning the unit back on to see if I could replicate the problem, but it seems the electronics were fried and it would not operate. I processed a return the next day and was promised a refund as soon as they received the unit, no questions asked. I ordered another unit. It has been delivered and worked fine the one time I have used it. This unit has a very good rating with Consumer Reports, which is why I bought it in the first place.

It takes up a lot of counter space, but is very convenient for air-frying tater tots, orange chicken salmon and a host of other items. What I don’t like is the exposed sharp edges in the fryer basket; you have to be careful if you don’t want to cut yourself when you are cleaning it. Also I recommend getting an air-fryer cookbook because the manual rudimentary. Also note that at full power it is a 1500W appliance. You will not be able to run it at the same time as a 1209W microwave without tripping a 15A breaker...

This Brio 4.5 Air Fryer is perfect.. litte larger than I needed.. but it does evrything.. you can dehydrate in it..with temp from 100 -400 deg F.. and adjustments of 5 deg.. you can bake.. fry.. cook meals..the controls are easy.. and has built in Pre Programed features.. AND look great.. very stylish.. I love this NuWave products.. have NEVER ever been disappointed with their customer service or Products. And once again they have out done themselves. I have the InfraRed oven.. which I have bought 3 for my mother and daughter. and I hve the PIC heating plate.. Perfect.. the Oven I have had for 15 yrs and still use.. ALSO.. has (3) power/wattage settings.. this is important for people you can not use the high powered appliances..

Ok so I had a cheaper one (different brand) that rusted out quickly. I replaced it with this one. The first one was so easy to use. You just hit the "on" button, and "start" and it would go at 350 for 15 minutes. Easy. But this one has programs and menus and all kinds of features for searing and baking cakes, etc. I was disappointed at first but I learned that all I really have to do is hit "on" and "start" and it goes at 350 for 15 minutes. So it's as simple or as complicated as YOU want it to be.
